While about 14 of the girls are up for
abortion, 2 of the impregnated girls will be
keeping the babies due to religious beliefs.

The 34yr old new mother who has been trying to conceive for 6 years welcomed a girl, Temiloluwa, and two boys, Oluwafikayomi and Ifeoluwa (baby Ifeoluwa is the only one pictured. They were born prematurely)

In the delivery room was Afolake Alao, 58, a longtime registered nurse at Woodhull Medical Center and the children's grandmother. Afolake Alao said she insisted that her daughter-in-law, who had been trying to conceive for six years, come to the United States for the delivery.

"I knew she would get good care here," she told reporters during a press availability at the hospital Friday.

Her journey to New York involved a 13-hour flight with a layover in Paris.
Temitope Alao made the trip with her own mother, Adejoke Ogunrinde, on Jan. 21.

"I’m so happy," said Temitope Alao, the beaming but groggy new mom.
She said she’s not intimidated by the thought of caring for three infants at once.
"I’ll manage,” she said, adding she was “very active” during her pregnancy.
The only thing left to do for the family is to introduce the babies to their dad for the first time. Temitope’s husband is still Nigeria.
"We are trying to get him here to see the babies," she said.

The family will return to Nigeria when the babies are old enough to travel, they said. Temiloluwa, the girl’s name, means "God belongs to me." The boys names stand for “God has increased my joy” and "God’s love."

Good day all! I never thought I will never create a topic like this because I believed I had a perfect love life. I have to create this moniker just for this topic that has and still eating me deep. I will try to make it as brief as possible.

I have been a relationship for 7yrs with the lady that I love beyond measures. I do anything possible within my reach to satisfy n make her happy. She has also been wonderful and almost perfect (nobody is). We started dating from uni days and where d pride n envy of many even after school.

After my service, I started looking for job but as things get murky in d labour market, I started a little ICT troubleshooting hustle, just to keep body n soul together before d job comes. Now this lady has been supportive all d way, after her service she moved to where am based, we managed what we have. She got a job while I was still doing what I do, I could provide for d daily running around like food, clothing, small bills, etc. I could pay my rent sometimes but atimes my siblings support me. When biz haven't been good.

Now this my lady resigned from where she was working because her female boss wasn't treating them well, tru one of my friends I secured a better paying n welfare job in a construction firm for her. We have been doing fine all this while but when I proposed to her she said we should wait till I get a better paying job. I make an average of 35-40k at d end of month but because I spend on what we need in d house I usually don't have it in bulk at d end of d month. She earns around 80k plus a car. Her new boss gives car loan to all his staff down to d secretary. She is an engineer there. She have been having this fear of lack because of what she faced as a child, so whenever d issue of marriage comes up she says I shld wait till I get a job n when ever her friends or mine wedd she cries n complain that I dnt want to marry her. I have promised her that we can make it with our present earnings n with time I will get that job. I knw I live far better than some married men in terms of finances.

This year I made up my mind to ask her for hand in marriage on vals day, but last week she gave me d shocker of my life, but telling me she had moved on because of my employment status. I have begged like I ave never begged anyone before, telling her that am very sure d job will come before d babies start coming. She told me she has found someone else and that she has made up her mind.

She still loves me, but the job issue I her phobia, dont get me wrong she is very decent n has been faithful all our yrs together. Right now my heart is torn to shreds, I don't sleep at night, I cry every night, I cant eat well, I have lost weight. Am I beginning to scare my self with d kind of suicidal thoughts I have these days. I have built my whole adult life around her, I try to let go but cant.

Pls nairalanders advice me before I do something drastic, I need all the advice I can get, am on job sites 24/7 now just to get something n probably win her back. She is not after riches just d basics. And for those that will lash me, I need it too, it might cheer me a bit.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Thursday declared a former Niger Delta militant leader, Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo, wanted.
The anti-graft agency in an advertorial signed by its Head of Media and Publicity, Wilson Uwujaren, said it declared Tompolo wanted following two bench warrants issued against him by a Federal High Court in Lagos, where he has been charged with N45.9bn fraud.
In the said advertorial which carried a photograph of Tompolo, the EFCC described him as a 47-year-old, dark-complexioned man from Okerenkoko, Gbaramotu Kingdom in the Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State.
The wanted Tompolo, whose address was given as No. 1, Chief Agbanu Street, DDPA Extension, Warri, Delta State, is said to speak both Izon and English languages.
The public announcement issued by Uwujaren read in part, “The general public is hereby notified that Government Ekpemupolo (a.k.a. Tompolo), whose photograph appears above, is wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in relation to the offence of conspiracy, illegal diversion of the sum of N34,000,000,000.00 and N11,900,000,000.00 belonging to the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency.”
Justice Ibrahim Buba of a Federal High Court in Lagos issued a bench warrant against Tompolo on January 14 after he shunned a summons dated January 12 issued on him by the judge to appear in connection with the fraud charges filed against him and nine others by the EFCC.
Justice Buba had then ordered the law enforcement agencies to produce Tompolo before him on February 8 for him to answer the charges, but rather than appear in court on January 8,
Tompolo brought an application seeking to quash the bench warrant and arrest order.
The judge, who dismissed the application for lacking in merit, renewed the arrest warrant and directed all law enforcement agencies to produce Tompolo before him on February 19.
Tompolo’s lawyer, Mr. Tayo Oyetibo (SAN), after failing to get the bench warrant vacated, turned down the responsibility of undertaking to produce his client in court.
Oyetibo said it was the responsibility of the prosecution to produce the suspect in court.
The EFCC filed 40 counts against Tompolo and nine others, including the immediate-past Director-General of NIMSA, Patrick Akpobolokemi.
The other suspects in the charge are Kime Engozu, Rex Elem, Gregory Mbonu and Capt. Warredi Enisuoh.
The suspects were charged along with four companies, namely: Global West Vessel Specialist Limited, Odimiri Electrical Limited, Boloboere Property and Estate Limited and Destre Consult Limited.
The suspects were accused of diverting and converting to their personal use a sum of N34bn and N11.9bn belonging to NIMASA.
The offence, according to EFCC, is contrary to Section 18 (a) of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) (Amendment) Act, 2012 and were liable to punishment under Section 15 (3) of the same Act.

A woman, Mrs Onome Akporode, has given a graphic description of how here limbs were crushed by a bullion van, a police escort and a tipper lorry on July 13, 2015 at Udu road, Delta State.

The woman-of-four, during a cross examination at the High Court of Justice, Udu, on Thursday, disclosed that the policemen escorting the bullion van, who should have stopped to render some help, rather shot sporadically into the air to scare away crowd screaming for help.

According to her, this action was inhumane on the part of the policemen because she was still on the ground bleeding profusely with both legs shattered by the reckless tipper lorry, bullion van and police escort.

Meanwhile, three persons, who were arrested in connection with the accident, were, on Thursday, docked at the High Court of Justice, Udu.

They were charged with attempted murder in the July 13, 2015 bullion van accident along the dualized Udu road, which led to the crushing of the two legs of the mother-of-four, Mrs Akporode.

The trio, Taire Onome Joseph, Edoze Gabriel and Godwin Odobaire, are the drivers of the bullion van, a police escort vehicle and the tipper lorry involved in the accident that crushed the legs of the victim.

Head of the police team that escorted the bullion van, Mr Usman Adamu, who was earlier arrested and detained in company of the defendants, gave details of how the incident occurred.

He also described how four police patrol vehicles were deployed to the bank to forestall a breakdown of law and order.

Mrs Akporode lost her two legs to the reckless driving of a bullion van belonging to a first generation bank, police escort and a tipper lorry by Udu express road.

The victim survived by the whiskers as doctors at the Delta State University Teaching Hospital (DELSUTH), Oghara, battle to save her from haemorrhage.

Frantic efforts were exerted by the police and owners of the bullion van to bury the attempted murder, but for the vigilance of human rights activists and the vociferous media.

The matter was later adjourned to March 24 for further hearing.

This happened today, February 9, 2016...and I consider this experience worthy of share, if not for anything, but to sensitize and galvanize each and everyone of us to take vigilance and caution as serious business...

I let my brother Dayo Alabi give his narratives:

"Help me thank God that the Dana Plane I boarded to Abuja landed safely in Abuja instead of the "breaking news" that would probably have announced that "Dana plane with xyz passangers en-route Abuja hijacked and flown to abc country"!‎

We boarded the plane scheduled to take off at 1.23pm.  

However,  one of the air-hostesses became suspicious of one of the passengers who was earlier brought into the plane in a wheelchair with left hand bandaged from shoulder to the fingers; same with his left leg. 

The hostess's suspicion arose from the discovery that the man's hand luggage was not passed thru the security screening machines. 

To cut a long story short, the Airport Security Team was invited and the bag opened. It was reported that four fully loaded guns were in the bag! 

The "sick/injured" man  insisted he could not stand/walk. A wheelchair was brought in by the security team to take him out.  An accomplice was also off-loaded from the plane. 

The pilot then apologized profusely for the 37mins delay "due to security breach" saying we should all be thankful as "it is better to be delayed than to be sorry". He then went on rendering beautiful songs (not religious songs anyway) from taxing to take-off to the delight of passangers who were all praising God‎..."

I thought to share because that Dana Air-Hostess, in saner climes, and to encourage diligence in others, would be on a future honours' list of an appreciative country. 

I do hope fervently that she, like Olajumoke Orisaguna, - the now famous bread-hawker ‎shot to limelight by Sister T. Y. Bello's un-quiet action, - will eventually be recognized by the authorities in Nigeria.‎

I also hope that my brother Dayo Alabi, unlike many that were on that plane, but chose to keep 'mute' or indifferent to 'shout-out' on their  horrible encounter, will, in the fulness of time also get recognition for helping to bring this episode to public disclosures.

Most important, I hope this narrative nudges us all to be active participants at vigilance, caution and paying attention to details in matters of public safety and well-being.

A word, as thee saying goes,  is enough for the discerning...
