To answer your questions 1. This is very relative and depends on a host of factors. In my experience with local companies, its largely based on nationality while most multinationals have a pay scale regardless of where you come from and/or studied. You can look here https://www.thenational.ae/business/money/uae-salary-guide-2020-how-much-should-you-be-earning-1.952299#13 although this is a guide and in reality things don't work like this for a lot of folks. 2. This is strictly based on your lifestyle. There are people who earn 2k or less that are able to save and people who earn 15k plus that are in debt. Can you have a life on a 4k salary? Short answer is yes. Would there be enough savings from the 4k? Entirely up to you. 3. See 1 above kid7soccer: |
hayzed89:I just checked their website and didn't see anything about minimum salary for savings account. Try to do it, provided you have all the required documents. You won't know the outcome until you try. https://www.emiratesnbd.com/en/apply-now-form/digital-account-opening/?subproduct=Standard%20Savings%20Account&etm_action=acc-open-account

damiflo:I tried with Emirates NBD and they opened for me.i didn't really do anything apart from provide all the requested documents. |
damiflo:I experienced the same thing when I came as well. I went to 8 banks and they all said something related to compliance. 1 even said we can try but it can take up to 2 months and compliance may reject it. I was shocked. Anyways, sometimes It also depends on your company. Some of the banks said if my company was listed with them it would be easier to open the account. Like some have advised you, speak to your company's PRO they may be able to assist you. It's difficult but not impossible. |
Hi house, does anyone know if the embassy in ABu Dhabi is now open? |
Is there anyone coming to Dubai from Lagos soon? |
Ajakayekoke:Brotherly, I full ground oo, how your side nah? |
Hybrid600:I am in Dubai. I can meet the person anywhere here. Thanks |
See please use Skyscanner, farecompare even wakanow. All this how much is flight ticket question people ask here like we own airlines ![]() Ticket prices are not constant and change according to time of day, traffic to the website, how close your flight date is and a host of other things. Use the internet please you'll get updated information than what we can give you here chikasin4: |
This is currently not possible. Qatar airways can't fly to Dubai due to the blockade against Qatar. If this friend truly wants to visit Dubai, they should use another airline. They can transit from Qatar to Kuwait then Kuwait to UAE...but imo that's long journey oduzbaba89: |
Aye le Ibosi ooo. Ejoor take It easy, is like you like to fight very well. You just replied him without wasting time. Oya sorry he dinor mean it laidat ![]() Etap: |
eyinola:Not exactly. you can check booking.com and filter based on your price point, you'll get better recommendations |
Hybrid600:No actually I never chop am. To be sincere Indian and Arab food don't do it for me at all. I usually cook at home but I miss all dem Egusi, Ogbono, Efo riro etc.I hope to find them there So many times my colleagues hype Arab restaurant only to get let down in the end. |
Ijiimmayi:All I see is Naija food, I'll locate the place this weekend ![]() |
giftdavid112:Lol..see ehn, nobody is asking you for personal details. So no need to keep hinting at how you want to remain anonymous. Perhaps the best way to start wasn't about coming here to tell everyone "my company will pay me 23K" ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ If you truly want to remain anonymous stop jumping upandan replying every Tom Dick and Harry. Focus on what you're here for..to get information, not to let us all your business. My 2cents tho. |
giftdavid112:Your job offer is very good and if your company is legit usually your entry visa can be out in under a week. When you get here, they'll convert it to an employment visa which will enable them to apply for your Residence visa, the whole process can be concluded from 2weeks to 2 months depending on how your company handles your application. With your kind of salary offer, I'll assume you wouldn't want to stay in a bed space. I'm assuming the 4000 USD is also meant for your flight ticket and your accommodation whilst they process your visa (verify with your HR). If it does, then you have to take into account the first expenses for renting a studio which can easily go northwards of 20k AED depending on area and the number of cheques you'll pay your rent in. Keep in mind to find accommodation close to your company as you will not be able to drive with your Nigerian driver's license and public transport (taxi inclusive) will be your only mode of transportation till you get a UAE license. It's very easy to get carried away here especially if you make a good sum of money regardless if you party or not so your priorities will determine how much you end up saving monthly. After getting your visa sorted out, please make sure you have a clear picture of how you'll settle down and how/if your company will help you as it's the next important thing. Everybody here will be help you with answers to questions that you may have so please make sure you understand what you're in for before you make the leap. Good luck and congratulations!!! |
justwise:I also commented on it, apparently someone reported me and the post was taken down |

Check on dubizzle or bayut. 60k for a studio in Deira, I think, is way too much. If you are willing to spend such an amount on a studio you can check other areas towards business bay, marina and JLT. obonujoker: |
I must confess, I don't exactly know how it works as I haven't seen any message in my mail box. Cypha8: |
Please house, Is there anyone that has a bank account with any UAE bank. I've been to three banks now and they didn't approve the account "Because Nigerians are considered high risk nationals" by their compliance team ![]() |
Hello house, I'm glad to announce that I now have my Emirates ID ![]() |
Who here has been able to successfully apply for the UAE drivers license? Can you please share your experience. I've heard a lot of horror stories ![]() |
Yes, you can. You should go to the Embassy first to get a stamp on the doc (attestation). In Dubai it's 100Dhs per doc, I don't know about Abu Dhabi. After that, you can proceed to UAE MOFA and it will be attested for you. I am not yet sure on that. I actually need the 100% info for a friend as well but have not gone around to get to UAE MOFA. I will update when I get it. Or if someone with the 100% info should please kindly state it. |
If you read the parts from the last thread I believe you'll find that you can do this without paying them 200Dhs at the Embassy. Just try to read it if you haven't Sicilyjoe: |
Sometimes, I'm amazed at the kind of questions people ask here. Just enter Google and search. Use wakanow, Skyscanner, eDreams etc. You'll get the real-time figures. I don't believe anyone here owns an airline Canterbury: |
Yes, you can scan and/or FedEx to your friend. Just make sure the person also has your passport photo in hard copy to attach to the form. zetaglo: |
