2good: Bunch of confused black men/ women. Always arguing on some imported religion with no evidence to back up their claims besides some ancient book. I weep for my race.
How will you explain this :
A man striped in the public
flogged over 30 times
With a whip that has thongs
Then taken to the cross.
Well, we all say Christ was crucified on the cross but don't have'nt sit back to ponder on the kind of excruciating pains He went through.

Here is a glimpse of excruciating pains of crucifixion

When a man is crucified on the cross, and he remains that way for long, he wil need to support the stretched arms and shoulder with the leg to transfer the pressure centred on the arms and shoulders but the leg won't support because it has been nailed.
In a long run, there will be a serious pressure at the shoulder joint (ball and socket joint) region hereby making it to shatter or dislocate. This was the excruciating pain that made Christ exclaimed "Father ! Why have that forsaken me" (He was with the sin of the world) .
After all that, the legs will need to be broken in order to confirm them dead, but Christ died before the Roman soldiers came to Him (It was prophesied over 2000 years ago by prophet Isaiah that non of His bone will not be broken) and this same Prophet prophesied His coming. Then they have to thrust a spear into His stomach.
Don't forget Christ has a nature of man and a God while on earth

How will a man go through all this just for nothing, that flogging alone will make Him denounce who He is .
Also study about Saul changed to Paul, Stephen. (I'm also a living proof of His awesome power because i was once like you ).
With all these i pray that you will have a changed of heart about your belief. God bless you.

sunkoye: yea..he was killed cos of his claims. Pple are comfortable with him as a great teacher, even a prophet is cool for the. Bt to manifest Isaiah 6:1 they can't live with.Look, the secular response to the Christ story always goes like this: He was a great prophet, obviously a very interesting guy, had a lot to say along the lines of other great prophets, be they Elijah, Muhammad, Buddha, or Confucius. But actually Christ doesn’t allow you that. He doesn’t let you off the hook. Christ says, No. I’m not saying I’m a teacher, don’t call me a teacher. I’m not saying I’m a prophet….I’m saying I’m God incarnate.” And people like frosbel and 2good will say: No, no, please, just be a prophet. A prophet we can take. Pple are alway scared to admit the truth! It seems too hot to handle...lol. The basic- Jesus is the very God the old testament reavels

Ponder on this
It was a prophecy
Written between 701-681 BC

"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." (Isaiah 9:6-6).

Christianity EtcDo You Believe In The Holy Trinity ? by HerexG(op): 9:27pm On Nov 24, 2012
Do you belief in The Holy Trinity ?

I pray that this write up
will help you belief

"For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one." (1 John 5:7-7).

What comes into your mind when the word trinity is mentioned in Christianity ? The above scripture defines says it all about the word trinity.
But some will say because the word trinity is not mentioned anywhere in the bible, they don't belief in it. I will answer this by asking this two questions, "can you find the word "bible" or "rapture" in the word of God ? The fact that trinity is not mentioned in the bible does'nt mean that the knowledge and power behind trinity is void.
Some will also ask, how can you say God, Jesus and the Holy spirit are one, they will go ahead to magnify it saying that God is the Almighty, Jesus is mighty and the Holy spirit is the working power. The above scripture also answer's this, and i will also stress on some other vital points. When Jesus was admonishing His disciples on baptism, He said " baptsing them in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy spirit" watch this, He used a singular term to address this persons, this is to show that the Father, Son and Holy spirit are one. Assuming they were more than one the write word should have been "baptsing them in the "names" and not "name" of the Father, Son and the Holy spirit. And Christ did mentioned in the bible that " before Abraham I Am " that phrase is very wrong gramatically but He surely knows the message He is trying to convey. He is trying to show that He and His Father are one (I Am that I Am).
The Holy trinity is of great importantance and relevance in Christianity, God is God, Jesus is God and the Holy spirit is God in action .
"Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:" (Philippians 2:6-7).
Remember Christ once said "I and my Father are one"
God bless you....

Christianity EtcWhy Does God Watch His Children Suffer ? by HerexG(op): 5:22pm On Nov 18, 2012
Why does God watch His children suffer ?

Why does God allow or watch His children, even they that serve him diligently, suffer and perish here on earth ? I will answer this question using the three men of God John, James and Peter as a case study:
John: This was a very humble man, that they thought he was the Christ, but he was so humble to admitt he is not the Christ, but He that is coming after me i'm not worthy to tie His shoe lase. He is the fore-runner of Christ, infact the bible made us understand that he was great in the sight of God. After labouring for God, baptising people in the name of the Lord, doing God's will, he was beheaded at the request of the king's daughter matt 14. I know the question some will ask is why would God allow it to happen.

James: He is a practical Christian, he preached more about working the word of God. One of His popular writing says "faith without work is dead". But after working for God so diligently, he was also arrested and beheaded. You might ask where is God, why did'nt He save him.

Peter: He is a perfect example of a minister of God, even though he denied Christ 3 times, he repented of his sin and fight for the course of the cross with everything he had. At the course of preaching the gospel, he was also arrested but in his own case the miraculous happened, Act 12 an angel of the Lord came to rescue him. After the king has beheaded John, he found out that the Jews were happy with it so he arrested and killed James, and now Peter but the Lord rose up for Peter. Is it that Peter has something very special in the sight of God or the love He has for Peter is greater than the rest, or his grace overshadows the rest. Non of this answers why God rescued Peter.
God will not do something except He is called, why because He has done all what needs to be done. If you have not done something to attract miracle, miracle will never come to you, tears don't get the work done. It was written "Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him." (Acts 12:5-5), this is the reason why Peter's case was different.
God does'nt allow evil, it is the failure of man to avert the evil .

Christianity EtcRe: Praying For The Dead by HerexG(op): 12:54pm On Nov 15, 2012
There are the Mormon's who teach that baptism for the dead is
efficacious for those who did not believe in life or had never had the
chance to hear the Mormon doctrine. This appears to be a follow-on
from the example set by the Catholic teaching of lighting candles for
the dead or praying for the dead to get them out of purgatory. I've
heard conflicting information as to whether or not the current Pope
has officially ash-canned Purgatory. It would be an improvement if
they let Purgatory go the same way as Limbo went. But the
Mormon's are claiming to have been given the ball (this is what they
claim) that the Catholic's fumbled. So their claim is of divine authority
passed down to them. I don't know of any other faith-system that
promotes that anything can or should be done for the dead,
Biblically or otherwise except that Christ raised the dead .
Christianity EtcThe Irony by HerexG(op): 8:44am On Nov 15, 2012
This is a wake up call
for all Christians

The Irony

A man board a flight en rout to a specific destination, he got inside the plane, sat down on the seat and he made use of the sit belt, then he relaxed. In a short time the plane took off. Now the plane is on the air, everything was going on smoothly inside the plane and everybody on board was either sleeping, listening to music or sound from their devices , some are just calm meditating with their eyes closed, while some are busy munching the goodies given to them by the air hostess. Then man looked around inside the plane as his eyes can reach, all of a sudden the man turned to his left and freezed, he was looking at a man praying so fervently in a silent manner so as not the disturb the people on board . The man admired him and felt so ashamed of himself and he said to himself " I'm a pastor here on board and a pastor like me also is praying so fervently like this, that he even did'nt mind the air hostess trying to offer him some goodies, i wonder what kind of programme is he praying or preparing for".
So the man turned his face off the man, took a nap for 20mins.
After 20mins the man woke from the nap, he turned around to look at the man who was praying a while ago, to his greatest surprise the man was still praying. Now he continue watching the man praying with great fascination and amusement, this man has been praying for over an hour now. The man said to himself again "this man must be a very serious and a powerful man of God, i must have a conversation with this man". The flight lasted up to 5 hours, this man prayed all through the 5 hours spent on the craft.
It was time for the plane to land, the man still praying. So the plane finally landed, that was when the praying man stopped praying and everybody came off board, now the man ran straight to the praying man, he stopped him and said "hello sir, i'm pastor Chukwu i was on board with you on the same plane, i admired what you did on that plane, you prayed all through the duration of the flight. Sorry to disturb you sir, but which church or denomination are you from ?" And the man smiled and said "Well i'm not a Christian, i attend the church of satan, i'm an agent of satan. I travelled to this country to accomplish an assignment, this was why i was praying like that". So the praying man left, pastor Chukwu's jaw dropped, with shock and great surprise.

What does this reveal to us as Christians, if a man that is not in Christ can pray for 5 good hours in order to accomplish a mission he was sent, not praying for his personal needs, just for the mission. It means we have to really get busy as Christians and serious with the gospel and our praying life. The devil and his agents are not sleeping, we must put on the armor of God and keep using our battle axe(prayer), because the weapons of our warfare are not canal .

How can you tell me you don't have idolatry in your gatherings, a situation where your rev father will lift up a carved image of Christ and tells you all to kiss the image one after the other. I was once a catholic but i denounced them, because most things to do or belief are all going contrary to what Christ preach and practise. Stop wasting your God given time praying for the dead and gone, there are people living who needs it more, visit the Lagos state teaching hospital, you will have reasons to redirect your prayers to the living. Those that worship God must worship in spirit and truth, God is not Intrested in your flesh or body, this is why when one dies your spirit goes to him. Be wise my people and let not the romans brain wash you all. Thank you and God bless you....
Christianity EtcRe: Praying For The Dead by HerexG(op): 11:27am On Nov 14, 2012
17 When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he
placed his right hand on me and said: "Do not be afraid. I am the
First and the Last.
18 I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive for ever
and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.
These scriptures indicate that Jesus was dead and is now alive, he
also has the Keys of death and hell. We can see clearly that Jesus
mission to destroy the power that the devil had over death was a
success.
1 Peter 3 (English-NIV)
18 For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the
unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the
body but made alive by the Spirit,
19 through whom also he went and preached to the spirits in
prison
20 who disobeyed long ago when God waited patiently in the
days of Noah while the ark was being built. In it only a few people,
eight in all, were saved through water,
This scripture says that Jesus preached to disobedient spirits in
prison who died before the flood of Noah.
Although I myself do not quite understand the full ramifications of
this verse, It does make sense that when Jesus defeated death, he
could have proclaimed his victory to the wicked spirits in Hell, in
other words he heralded their soon coming judgement, and then
of course he set the righteous spirits free to abide in Heaven. It
doesn't necessarily mean that Jesus gave the wicked a second
chance to repent as the New Testament scriptures are quite blatant
about the fact that you can only repent while you are alive.
1 Peter 4:5-6 (English-NIV)
5 But they will have to give account to him who is ready to judge
the living and the dead.
6 For this is the reason the gospel was preached even to those
who are now dead, so that they might be judged according to
men in regard to the body, but live according to God in regard to
the spirit.
This scripture could relate to the above scripture as they are only
one chapter apart ie Jesus preached to the dead.
This scripture also seems to say that the Gospel was preached to
the dead and they were given a chance at life, but it can also be
interpreted to say that the disobedient who are dead actually heard
the gospel when they were alive, and the reference to the dead is
to say that they were dead at the time of the scripture, ie now
dead, but were actually alive when they heard the gospel.
I have added these 2 verses as they relate to Jesus death and
journey to the world of the dead, but I do repeat the statement I
made earlier, and that is that I do not understand the full
ramifications of these 2 verses.
Matthew 27:50 - 52 (English-KJV):
50 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up
the ghost.
51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the
top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;
52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints
which slept arose,
53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went
into the holy city, and appeared unto many.
After Jesus died many of the dead saints arose and walked the
earth and appeared to many.
This seems to suggest that Jesus freed the dead saints from a
sleep, so he probably went to the place of the dead and set them
free. These saints would have been in Paradise, see Luke 16:19-28
(quoted earlier).
Remember that Jesus also rose from the dead and walked the
earth before being taken up into Heaven. These saints of old that
walked the earth probably were raised to heaven as well. There is
no suggestion in the Bible that these saints continued to live
amongst mankind.
The fact that the dead rose at the same time as Jesus resurrection
is a fulfillment of what Jesus said would happen in John 5:28-29
(English-NIV)
28 "Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who
are in their graves will hear his voice
29 and come out--those who have done good will rise to live, and
those who have done evil will rise to be condemned.
Also
1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 (English-NIV)
16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud
command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet
call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.
17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up
together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And
so we will be with the Lord forever. 18 Therefore encourage each
other with these words.
Notice that the dead rise first, and at some stage all those believers
who are still living will join the dead to meet the Lord.
Jesus victory over death has enabled the saints who have died to
by pass Hades and go to Heaven as he did, this was a result of the
victory over the devil; who had the power of death. Jesus took the
keys of death and hell from him, as we read earlier Revelation 1:18.
Today when the righteous die, they go straight to heaven, but the
wicked remain in the grave/hell until the great day of judgement..
Christianity EtcRe: Praying For The Dead by HerexG(op): 11:19am On Nov 14, 2012
Kindly read this carefully.....

Is there proof in the bible that Jesus went down into hell
after he was crucified ?
It is commonly taught in the Churches today that when Jesus died
he went to Hell and fought the Powers of Darkness and then was
raised back to the earth before being raised to the highest position
in Heaven.
But where is the proof for such a commonly taught doctrine.
Below I have found some scriptures that back up this teaching. I
have an explanation of each verse, but ultimately you can make
your own mind up about this matter.
At this stage I want to show you some scriptures that refer to the
location of Hell.
See the scriptures below.
In Ezekiel 26:20 (English-NIV) it says:
then I will bring you down with those who go down to the pit, to
the people of long ago. I will make you dwell in the earth below,
as in ancient ruins, with those who go down to the pit, and you
will not return or take your place in the land of the living.
Notice that this scripture indicates that some people are dwelling in
the Earth below (the pit).
Ezekiel 31:16 (English-KJV)
I made the nations to shake at the sound of his fall, when I cast
him down to hell with them that descend into the pit: and all the
trees of Eden, the choice and best of Lebanon, all that drink water,
shall be comforted in the nether parts of the earth.
Again Hell (sheol, underworld, grave, hell, pit) is referred to as
being in the earth.
Luke 16:19-28 (English-NIV)
19 There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen
and lived in luxury every day.
20 At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with
sores
21 and longing to eat what fell from the rich man's table. Even the
dogs came and licked his sores.
22 The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried
him to Abraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried.
23 In hell, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw
Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side.
24 So he called to him, `Father Abraham, have pity on me and
send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my
tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.
25 But Abraham replied, Son, remember that in your lifetime you
received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but
now he is comforted here and you are in agony.
26 And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has
been fixed, so that those who want to go from here to you
cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.
27 He answered, `Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my
father's house,
28 for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will
not also come to this place of torment.
Remember that these are the recorded words of Jesus himself.
Taken literally it suggests that the world of the dead is/was divided
into 2 regions. One for the wicked and the other for the righteous.
The wicked are in torment in hell and the righteous are/were in
peace with Abraham.
There was/is a chasm between the 2 places that stopped either
side from crossing to the other, yet they could/can still
communicate with each other.
Now I want to show you that Jesus went to Hades/Hell after He
was crucified on the Cross according to the scripture.
Matthew 12:40 (English-NIV)
For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a
huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in
the heart of the earth.
This scripture is quite blatant about the fact that Jesus went to the
heart of the earth for 3 days and 3 nights.
If this is the case then how do the words of Jesus spoken to the
thief on the cross make sense.
Luke 23:42-43 (English-NIV)
42 Then he said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your
kingdom."
43 Jesus answered him, "I tell you the truth, today you will be
with me in paradise."
The point I am making here is that Jesus was in the heart of the
earth for approximately 3 days, after that he walked the earth for a
short time and then he was lifted up into heaven.
So if the reference to Paradise was heaven, then when Jesus said
to the thief on the cross "that he would be in paradise with him
today" would have to be a contradiction because Jesus was in the
heart of the earth for 3 days and 3 nights.
The only way that both scriptures can be explained without
contradiction is to say that Paradise was also in the heart of the
earth like Hell.
Do you find this hard to believe.
Doesn't Luke 16:19-28 say the same thing. We just read earlier in
those verses that when Lazarus died he went to Abraham's side
and the rich man went to hell. In hell the rich man looked up and
could see Lazarus being comforted atAbraham'ss side. But neither
could cross over to the other side because of a huge chasm.
Ephesians 4:9 (English-NIV)
8 This is why it says: "When he ascended on high, he led captives
in his train and gave gifts to men."
9 (What does "he ascended" mean except that he also descended
to the lower, earthly regions ?
10 He who descended is the very one who ascended higher than
all the heavens, in order to fill the whole universe.
The focal point for the word ascended and descended is the earth
itself.
In verse 9 it says that he descended to the lower earthly regions
Hebrews 2:14 (English-NIV)
Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their
humanity so that by his death he might destroy him who holds
the power of death--that is, the devil.
Revelation 1:18 (English-NIV)

After Christ died He went to minister to spirit in Abraham bossom , He went their to set those who were in captivity free. He broke the gap between man and God, now we have nothing as the Abraham bossom anymore, this is a place where the righteous people are then before Christ came to die, it is another form of hell . He went their fought and conquered, He chained the devil, and he is to be released on the day of armageddon. Mind you HE WAS NOT A MAN ANYMORE, WHEN HE WENT TO MINISTER TO THEM. While on earth there was never a time Christ prayed for the dead.

The moment they are dead, they cease to be your loved ones , take it or leave it.

Death has the final say only in the sense that it is at death where God
has said that a person's choices regarding their submission or
rejection of Christ have reached their terminus... its not that God is
limited by death, its that humans are. God is outside of space and
time... humans are not. If we lived our lives always taking into
consideration that God is not limited by time and space, then I might
as well keep praying for something that to come to pass (or not
come to pass) that happened yesterday... last week, last month, last
year, etc. Its true that I could go on a trip, forget to pray that I would
have a safe trip and return, get home safely, THEN pray for a safe
trip and return, and God could well grant the safety of that trip
because He also knew that I would forget to pray and so He would
honor my prayer for a safe trip after the fact, true. But typically we
pray about things yet to come to pass in space and time because
we are creatures of time and space.
Not praying for things and event that a gone with time.
