I'm asking you because HerexG usually has no answers when questioned on his brainless accusations. I want to know if you're just a brainless anti-Catholic like him or YOU can at least work with reason.

GiantParrot: As someone who hails from a mostly Catholic family, I have been having my own problems with digesting the dogmatic (in my opinion) statements about Mary and the Church in general. I'm even getting disillusioned with all forms of religious formalism. After years of careful observation and introspection leading to freedom from denial, I am beginning to view religion the way it is currently practiced (and even what has being in practice in the past) with great suspicion. It's beginning to look more to me as a pardonable cause for brazen hypocrisy. I do however, still believe in God. Here are my problems with the Roman Catholic Church:

1. Mary is the Mother of God? This statement sounds very misleading to me. When I hear the word: God, I think of a Divine Being that exists from everlasting to everlasting. How can He then have a mother? Did Mary give birth to Jesus' divinity as the statement suggests? If anyone decides to give an answer, I would remind you that I am no longer in the frame of mind to deceive myself anymore. Please give a reasonable explanation.

2. Why is the Pope said to be infallible and a heir to Peter? Was Peter infallible?
3. Where did the term Pontifex Maximus come from?
4. Why is the Pope referred to as Holy Father and Catholic Priests as Fathers? Please read Matthew 23:9 and Luke 17:11
5. Peter did marry. Why do Popes and Priest not get married?
6. I find the murder of Galileo to be very disturbing given that the people who tried him and tortured him were supposed to be the closest to God
7. The inquisitions. There is hardly anything more antithetical to the love and compassion demonstrated by Jesus Christ than the inquisitions.
8. The sales of indulgences so as to provide the means for the construction of St. Peters Basilica.
9. What has the Church done to check molestation of minors? Do those found guilty of molestation get to face the weight of the law?
10. What relationship does God really have with Rome?

toba: Wale Adenuga needs no introduction to many Nigerians, atleast those(some of us ) that read old magazines in the 80s like Ikebe super, Binta and super story.. 'When they were published, these magazines sold in the excess of half a million copies per edition. They were a success story.'

In the 90s WAP debuted TV shows and most that have been around especially from yr 2000 to date and are also TV adherent(foreign and Local tv channels) would know about his TV shows such as Super Story, Papa Ajasco and co, This life, Binta and friends etc.

No doubt, all his shows are entertaining and educating, but my issue with him is on the new TV series of super story titled 'ITOHAN! A CALL TO ACTION'

The program was recorded in conjuction with NAPTIP(National Agency for Prohibition of Traffic in Persons and Other Related Matters ) and supposedly shot in about 6 'countries' around the world comprising Nigeria, Benin, Mali, Morrocco, spain and Italy.

The issue is this. Most of us have come to realise that Nollywood movies are fictional and so fake. I was expecting WAP to do better cos of his pedigree.

We saw the Nigeria scenes, Benin republic scenes, Mali scenes and 'Morrocco scenes'. The so called Italy and Spain scenes are big lies. The ladies sits on the curb and wait for customers in the street. Those curbs we see are as stained as what we see in Lagos Nigeria.

Also Glory Young (thats the madam in Italy) only sits in the house, without having to view the garden at all.

Most foreign scenes are acted at Night without the day brightness to really convince us the film was acted in the countries alleged.

I believe Nigerians can do better than this. Tade Ogidan that's behind the evergreen movie diamond ring, did a better job. RMD the father of teju baby face actually traveled in search of the diamond ring and it was shown in daylight.

I dont hate WAP, but i hate the fact that Nigerians are being fooled again.

Lovethywilbedon: Any reasonable human being can see that you are avoiding the truth. When we hail the people we love, we are honouring them, but when God Hailed Mary who He highly Loved Favored and "GRACED" (according to you) He is DISHONORING her. This is purely Illogical. The are many ways of honouring people. We can honour the people we love by respecting them, by thanking them, by praising them, by hailing, by blessing, by greeting, by showing them any form of respect. Mind you it is not only Catholics that honour Mary. Higher Church Anglicans and Moslems do honour Mary. I think your problem is in your understanding of the word "Honour". Okay, from Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary the verb form of the word honour(show respect) means "to do something that shows great respect for somebody or something". So *HerexG* I really want to understand the point you are try to make. Are you saying that Catholics should STOP honouring(ie "DOING ANYTHING THAT SHOWS GREAT RESPECT" to Mary the Mother of JESUS CHRIST our LORD and SAVIOUR. Now when you "HAIL" someone are you honouring that person?. YES. I WILL SHOW YOU THE NEXT [2](where mary was honour by the Holy spirit.) [3&4](two places where mary was honourd by Jesus) and [5](where Mary was honourd by a disciple of Christ). All these I will show you if you show that you a willing to by answering my simple questions with just [YES] or [NO]. [Q] If by Hailing someone, we are according HONOUR to that person, Do you think God HONOURED Mary when He HAILED her through angel Gabriel?. Now this is one Big problem we have in christianity today. What type of information does a student get about medical practice if he/she gets information from a Mechanic instead of a Doctor?. Many of you Protestant had never visited a Catholic website to know the true teaching of the Catholic Church. All you do is to visit sites where they load you with Craps about the TRUE CHURCH FOUNDED BY CHRIST, then you come to Nairaland to offload them just like the owner of this thread did at the begining. Remenber that someone who said he/she was a former catholic was asked by [Italo], to answer [YES] or [NO] if he/she Worshiped Mary while in the catholic church?. The person disappeare and never came back. Unfortunatly other former catholics on this thread avoided that Question because they know that sincerely answering that question will give credit to the catholic church.
