Strata1716:It's very possible. Someone is earning £18k (0.5 FTE) working around 19hours a week |
Strata1716:Adding a cover letter will mean instant refusal. In some cases he might get a narrow escape if UKVI did not check his NI and work details, but if he add a cover letter he is self convicting himself. There is no reasonable and acceptable excuse to violet the rules of your student visa. before the visa was granted, I believe he presented proof of adequate funds to UKVI ? |
Peacemaker5128:This is very sad and heartbreaking that you have to wish such evil on an innocent boy whose only crime is to be born underprivileged. Why not pray for him to grow up to become something better and meaningful to the public? It's quite sad. |
Lexusgs430:Boss abeg break am down a little further 😅. I wan know my faith. So if I attach the two passport together I will be able to use them? |
Quick question supreme mentors! Abeg if I have a valid visa in an expired passport will I be able to use it? I have a 5-year US visa and my passport will expire in March 2024, will I be able to use the visa in the old passport together with my new passport to travel or the visa because invalid as my passport expires! |
Stanley123147:You mean your partner not your wife. If you travel to Nigeria and reapply for a visa, the probability that you will be denied ranges from 0.51-1. And you can't get married in the UK if you are illegal. You case will be better if you have a child that is a British citizen if not marrying a British citizen alone will not suffice. |
deept:Please Whats the charges like?, I have been wanting to transfer money from my GTbank Dorm account to here in the UK, but I can't see the quoted transaction charges and I'm afraid the charge might be too high. |
I wanted to share this hoping that it helps someone. If you are a current student or a recent graduate in the UK, sign up for the Graduate Recruitment Bureau (GRB) Once you complete your registration and upload your CV you will get personalized graduate jobs and internship recommendations and also support to prepare your application and interviews. You can also use it to search for and apply for roles. This is the link to sign up: https://www.grb.uk.com/sbm/1181619 Note: You need to be studying in the UK or recently graduated and still have access to your university email to be eligible. Enjoy!! |
Digitron:That is not how statistics works my boss. 1000 is the optimal number of samples for a good survey. This is scientifically proven. Increasing the sample size will not significantly reduce the error. I have attached a picture that explains this better. If you have population of 100,000,000 using a sample size of 1000 is the optimal and feasible solution with just about 2.79% error. Increasing the sample size will not significantly reduce the error. The only thing you need to ensure is to make sure that your sample is inclusive and represent all demography .

ukay2:Can you tell me about this ISA and NYSE stocks thing or point me to where I can read and learn about it. |
mactoni91:Tinubu still remains the jagaban ooo. Do not underestimate him. I personally think Him and PO remains the top two candidate. Tinubu will beat Atiku in some northern states, add it to the south west vote. PO is exceptionally lucky that Atiku, Tinubu and Kwankwoso will be dragging the north. Tinubu has SW, PO has SS and SE. The NC is a battle ground for the 3 candidates with PO having a fair chance. The NW, NE is for Tinubu and Atiku, with kwankwoso eating a little from the pot. All the same, this election will be one of the most dynamic election in Nigeria. May the best candidate emerge. |
hayesconcept:Yea, I apply around that time too. Which role did you applied? A friend of my that we applied together also interviewed in January. He is yet to hear back after the interview. You can follow the Mott Macdonald 2023 graduate thread in studentroom https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?t=7271992&p=98055348&page=5#post98055348 |
hayesconcept:I applied late last year and interviewed for the role on the 17th of January, got an offer less than a week later |
Hello Mentors, I got an offer with a top Engineering and Management consulting firm, with a start date of 11th September 2023. They said they need to switch me to a skilled worker visa prior to my starting date. I just got a mail this morning, to submit all the necessary documents, that they will proceed with the visa application immediately. I started my MSc last year September so I will be graduating this September which is still 7-8months ahead. My question are: 1) Should I proceed with the application now or wait till closer to my course end date ? 2) They said they will cover the cost of visa fee but I'm expected to pay the IHS fee myself which is currently £625 x no of years ( however, they included a caveat that if I should inform them if I can't afford it) should I go ahead and informed them that I cannot afford it, will they offer to pay it on my behalf ? 3) My current student visa will expire 30th January 2024, which means I still have about 1year of IHS surcharge left. Will this be transferred or can I claim it back?

majorbravo:You can travel from anywhere in the world, as long as you have a valid passport and visa |
wonlasewonimi:I will definitely chose one of the cities, I'm looking for suggestions to help me make a better decision on which of the cities to chose |
Bristol, Birmingham, Exeter or Cardiff. Which of these cities do you recommend I chose and why? |
Thegamingorca:I advise you go with it. The rate you will get in UK will break your heart. Nothing less than £80 short |
Magic1:Please don't see this my responses as rude, I type this with the utmost respect because I understand that Nigerians are easily provoked when you tell them the truth. If you ask this question on a thread like this, it simply means that you are not a PhD scholarship material. There are a lot of Nigerians on Youtube and Twitter who are creating steady contents on how to secure PhD funding. the truth is you must be capable of independent research to do a PhD. Asking questions like this doesn't show you've done your research. Firstly, try to do your research to get a general overview of what is required, and if you have a more direct and personal question, you can now come back and ask, and we will be happy to support you. once again, I apologise if you think my response is rude and that I should've ignored the post. I wrote this response out of love and respect, hoping that you or any other person reading this will see reason from it. |
Please can someone confirm if it's possible to do walk-in at Abuja TLS on a day different from your appointment date? I have booked appointment for 17th August and will like to do walk-in on 8th August. Is this possible? |
duchess90:I think it does hasten the process considerably, once you tick yes and input your reference number, they can confirm it on their system as they have the data handy. There is absolutely no need of trying to verify your POF, sending NSF to query about your study gap or work experience which can take significant amount of time. They know that the scholarship committee shortlisted the brightest talents. PS: I applied for UK visit visa last year October using the COP26 route, my visa fee was waved and my application processed in 5 working days even when I didn't pay for any priority service. |
duchess90:During your visa application you see an option that asks if you are a recipient of either the Marshall, Chevening or Commonwealth scholarship. I think the Marshall is for US students. But the Chevening and Commonwealth is applicable to Nigerians. I think they also wave visa application fee for this scholars (not too sure)
|
duchess90:Hi Duches, It does exist ooo. You can confirm |
jtgpt:Yes it does. If you will applied for visa through the scholarship route your application will be given VIP treatment. PS: They only recognized British government funded scholarships like Chevening and Commonwealth |
demmy79:Omo to be honest I no know. I booked around April when I was not sure if I will still travel or not, as I was awaiting confirmation from my funders. I tried a couple of times and didn't see any appointment date. One Saturday morning I tried and saw available dates I just decided to chose 13th May to allow considerable time to get the confirmation I needed and sort my documents. Mine was just luck. |
I did my interview on the Friday 13th and today is making it exactly 2weeks and yet I have not heard anything. Is there a way to know if the embassy has handed over my passport to the courier and it's been delayed by the courier service? Germany embassy usually process visa very fast and I'm already worried by this delay. My expected travel date in on 4th June which is in approximately a week. |
WatchYourSix:Na bad advice you give am so. 2k for tuition fee deposit what happens to the rest of the tuition fee? Abi if they sch cancel his immigration sponsorship due to not being able to pay the tuition balance as at when due nko? All the money and efforts will be in vain |
awo666:I did not book a flight, I only made reservations. I simply contacted my friend who is a ticketing agent to get me flight reservation for visa purposes. Alternatively, you can email the airline and ask them to send you a link to make flight reservations pending visa approval. |
awo666:The interview was pretty straightforward with loads of questions. 1st the lady went through my passport and saw my previous Egyptian visa, she asked what I went to do in Egypt? I told her I had a meeting with the Egyptian Government, she looked surprised and ask what I do Then, she flipping my passport and saw the UK visa she took time to examine it an then proceed with the questions. Most of them related to my purpose of travel and work. |
Please who knows how long Germany takes to process Schegen visa?. I did my interview last week on the 13th May and it's been over a week already and still no sign. |
shady45:I used Ecobank. It took approximately 1wk 3days. But thats not the whole story. Before I decided to use them. I called the manager of a certain ecobank branch to inquire if it will work. He directly me to used a particular branch and I should notify him once I'm through that he knows the person in charge of fx in that branch. I did and my status went from Adb_Reviewer to Supervisor approval in under 2hours |
