This is what happens when the government allows insecurity to fester unhindered. People are bound to react one way or another. Unfortunately, any reaction stemming from government ineptitude and inaction will always be jungle justice. Boko Haram or not, there is big divide between the south and the north, trading blames will not solve it, some would argue we should talk it out but apparently we have refused to do that either. Whether we like it or not, it's only logical for attacks and counter attacks to snowball into something catastrophic if Boko Haram is not nipped in the bud soonest. |

In my opinion, the man represents the cadre of public office holders (unintelligent, stagnant, semi illiterate, unpresentable, shameful and of course no computer literacy) This cuts accross many government parastatals (ministries, agencies and departments) where 'leg', quota system and corrution has deminished our standards to nothing. As harsh as jokes like this may seem, it's the only way common Nigerians can express their displeasure at the ineptitude of people in power. A part of me kinda feels sorry for him though, but the 'oga on top' thing can't stop being funny. He should serve as a lesson. Check out his fb page
It is so cool when the police act based on infomation. I witnessed policemen on sunday around chevron roundabout, stategically placed on the road as if they were ready for action. I saw them pull over a taxi and ask the passenger, who was carrying a bag, to come down. I saw them leading him away, but that was all I saw before my vehicle passed the spot.
so? ![]() |

So many ironies, Nigerian military and police contingents are well respected abroad and yet they misbehave totally at home. Why is that? I don't see anything good about out security personnel, but then I read all the time they perform well outside...is there something we don't understand? |

First of all, comparing America with England may be quite unfair to the English; England is a very small country compared to America. Secondly, though they both have strong and enviable democratic systems, their social policies differ a lot; America is as capitalist as u can get, so all man for himself. Govt spends little on social welfare compared to the UK whr th health system is free so long as u pay ur taxes. America may have a higher GDP per head, but the facts remain tht the percentage of Ebglish living in poverty is far lower than America's. All in all, America is stronger coz u can't put aside the strength of numbers, but the English have taken advantage of being a smaller country by taking care of the small population (about 70 million) compared to America's (over 300million) |

History and arguments aside, the reality today is that we the Edo people see ourselves as unique and not as past of some other tribe. That said, the Edos are rather closer to Yoruba people than any other tribe, not evn the ibos. The funny thing there is that Ibos claim Edo as part of Biafra and Yorubas claim Edo as part of thr lineage. And I think this shows a lot in the way persons from these tribes treat Edo people. I'm a living witness myself; I feel welcome when I'm with Yoruba people and of course the Ibos too, but definitely not out boko haram brothers in the north who would rather butcher anything from the south. Bottomline, Edo people are loveable people and we don't mind being desired. Just don't distort our rich history. |
i honestly believe this is the beginning of the end of nigeria as a nation...afterall our unity has always been on the verge of our tongues... |

If i may ask the old fool, what has the older generation done for Nigeria? Him especially. I will forever lose hope in this country and its people if this harbinger of evil is allowed to win and rule us. |
the Nigerian armoured personnel carrier is not a bad idea, but will the usual Nigerian attitude not stifle this brilliant project? mark you this is how great things start. If we don't encourage stuffs like this, NOBODY WILL DO IT FOR US. OURS IS OURS! |

I don't see anything good about out security personnel, but then I read all the time they perform well outside...is there something we don't understand?
