heykims:
In what is best described as a major immigration crackdown on foreign students, the United Kingdom is set to announce new restrictions that will most likely stop Nigerian students, other nationalities studying in the UK from bringing their families over.

This crackdown, according to an exclusive report by The Sun UK, will be announced this week.

The new UK Immigration policy, will see all masters students and many other post grads banned from bringing family over.

However, the ban will not apply to PHD students, whose courses usually last between 3 and 5 years and are very highly skilled, the UK media House reported.

This follows the reports that net migration into the UK has skyrocketed to 1 million with Tory MPs asking the Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, “to get a grip on the rocketing numbers.”

To get a hold of the climbing numbers, UK ministers are said to be expected to announce the immigration clampdown on Tuesday or Wednesday.

The Sun reports that “Rishi Sunak is expected to come out fighting on immigration – pointing out they are figures he inherited as they date back to the year ending December 2022 – two months after he became PM.

“There has been an explosion in the number of people coming to Britain piggybacking on their relative’s student visa.

“Students brought 135,788 family members to Britain last year – nine times more than in 2019.

“Last year, 59,053 Nigerian students brought over 60,923 relatives.”

“We have got to get a grip,” a Tory MP told The Sun on Sunday.
How about this news?

I have been married for Ten years now and I think I can advise u on this genotype issue. I have seen many thread on issue of genotype in which people are giving out advice here. I just looked on cos I have nothing to contribute.
My wife and I are AS. Though we did not lie about it to our families but the resistance was too much from her own family. We weigh a lot of issues that are bigger than genotype, like what of if I marry another person and she couldn't conceive and many others like that. But what really helped us is that we had great convictions in the relationship and I have peace being around her.
We have two kids so far and they are both AA, Female and male. If u love the woman very well and u are ok with her character, I beg u go ahead. Don't try to please anyone. If u have the money to do pre-testing and Ur wife is in agreement kindly go ahead. Few good women are outside there and the rate of divorce is alarming. May God almighty guide Ur step.
Because u are fortunate u didn't birth a sickle cell child does not mean u should mislead others.

Mr op and his girlfriend, there is no good news in the counselling u got. Did he also tell u that it is a criminal offence for a medical personnel to purposefully terminate a pregnancy on the mere ground that the genotype of fetus is SS?
Moreso, all this love love go clear for your eyes if u get to have just one SS child, u will regret it, this is not a curse.
Moreso, do u realise u are about making a decision to incur burden on an innocent soul because the pain and rigor that seeming avoidable SS child will go through is because of u? U might spend the money, time but won't be the one to feel the recurring pain and disability that could span a lifetime.
Have a rethink op.
A word is enough for the wise.
Note - I'm a doctor working in Haematology department and my job is to manage sickle cell disease patients.

Semantics my friend, Semantics.

In a tone of mockery, you said LP "came" 4th.

""Came 4th" is different from saying "Allocated 4th"

LP were allocated 4th because 90 percent of those results called by the collation people were written in people's parlours.

You can only say "came 4th" if there was actually an election.
So LP actually won the election just as it did in Lagos? We will go to court.

The way certain people especially from a particular tribe reason always amaze me. U can imagine the non-entity, a nonentity stating this.
That was how another nincompoop was saying all Igbos should close their bank accounts with UBA because Tony Elemelu associated and smiled with Jagaban, the President-elect.
So it is the fake Pastors like Suleiman, Oyedepo, Oyakhilome etc that got inspiration from the devil and prophesied Obi win we should follow?

Goodevening you all.

A TB test came out negative but showing "abnormal chest x-ray". The IOM doctor suggested the applicant see his own personal doctor tho. Will this abnormal chest x-ray affects his visa application by next month?

I have attached snaps of the TB result
I think it shouldn't be a bother. The reason for the Xray is to rule out tuberculosis and since it is confirmed it isn't TB, the result is fine. The reason for TB test is because the infection is communicable.
