Do all these stack illiterate out there even know what they call genotype?

Scientifically, there is 50% chances of giving birth to SS if AS and AS married. But does that come in reality considering the fact majority of Nigeria population doesn't know their genotype not even to mention people from the Northern part of the country.

I understand the implications of the genotype stuff but those questions keep coming when I hear relationship and genotype wahala.

Bro, talk is cheap o. If u have just one SS child in the family, the family will regret and even other children will suffer for it. I doubt u will understand it anyway because u have never been in that shoe.

If your concern is about conception, there is a number of medical solutions you can explore ;

- IVF with preimplantation genetic testing.
- adoption.

See the way u just mentioned IVF with genetic testing.
Something that cost at least 3 million naira and success not even 100% guaranteed.

Bro. It is not easy o. I be AS and my wife is sane too. Our last child happens to be SS and honestly it hasn't be easy o. Both the child and we d parents going through lot of stress

U and ur wife should feel guilty for what that innocent kid is going through. Unfortunately, the child will still be the one that'll go through the painful and hemolytic crisis.
It isn't really fair on these children suffering from their parents selfishness and stupidness.
It really pains me because I work in Haematology dept and I have firsthand knowledge what sickle cell disease people go through.

As at today 8th of February 2022, It has been about 6years that I was diagnosed with stage 3 Acute kidney disease.

I begin to feel sick in January 2016 with symptoms of malaria and begin treating my malaria via self medication and later having fever with a very high body temperature.

I couldn't eat, i was very weak and I can't do anything but only to lay on the bed. I couldn't sleep during the day and at night and still doing self medication because of lack of money.

My sickness continues for some days and was still taking over the counter drugs until a bad day when I fainted and later get up and asked my neighbor to take me to a pharmacy to buy drug again but I was rejected and was advised to go to the hospital.

I was admitted at private hospital where a blood transfusion and some other treatment was given to me and I was discharged from the hospital 4days. I was at home taking the drugs given to me at the hospital and seems to be getting better but after some days, my health begins getting worse.

At this time i couldn't eat and I will throw up if I try putting anything in my mouth and drinking water was the only thing. Lost of appetite, fatigue and heartburn was on the high side and I have to go back to the hospital to put up my complains which I did and I was given some drugs (for heartburn and sleeping pills) to treat my illness.

Haven taken the drugs for few days and I begin going to the toilet several times a day but having difficulty to defecate and urinate. My stool was dark and my urine was little and very dark too.

This continues for some days until I begin to observe that I'm swelling. My stomach was protruding, my face and legs were swollen, i couldn't sleep at night and always having difficulty in breathing and was more severe at night.

I went to another private hospital and i was referred to Luth (Lagos State University Teaching Hospital) immediately after a test result shows that my PCV was at 10%. I was admitted in LUTH and several test were done and at that time my PCV had increased to 12% after taking malt and milk to replenish and gain some strength.


Sadly on the next day, I was diagnosed with kidney failure (Acute Kidney Disease) with stage 3 GFR and Chronic anaemia.

I thank God for ur life. However u are being managed for chronic kidney disease CKD and not acute kidney injury if your renal function test is still not optimal.

Unfortunately, that is the best thing to do in Nigerian health sector so that that people will truly work for their pays and recurrent strikes will be prevented.

This is a third party narrative by someone who was far away from the scene but based her judgement on a story narrated by one of the characters involved in the dispute.
Ur addendum note is even totally biased and one sided.
For this reason, I repel ur narration.

However, I'm surprised none of those commenting so far took note of the one sidedness of the story, narrated by one that was not even in the state at time of occurrence and are hastily pronouncing judgement.

In September 2020, employees of the Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta, Ogun State, entered an agreement with Whitehorse Capital Ltd. to supply vehicles to them. One year later, the company has only delivered two out of 58 vehicles requested.
Obabiyi Basheer Ayobamiji, chairman, Senior Staff Association of University Teaching Hospitals Research Institutes and Associated Institutions at the centre, told FIJ that Ayoade Adenekan, the company’s south west head of operations, introduced the company to them.

After Ayoade had watered the ground, Paul Ndi Oyemike, the CEO of Whitehorse Capital Ltd., travelled from Abuja to Abeokuta to hold meetings with the medical workers.

“He had three consecutive meetings with us before we entered into the agreement,” Obabiyi said.
FIJ learned that the company supplies fairly-used cars to civil servants with a payment plan spanning three years. “We are expected to make a partial payment, while we balance up the outstanding in a period of two or three years,” he said.

“The agreement was that we would pay 30 percent for each car we ordered,” said Obabiyi. “We then ordered 58 vehicles and the initial payment, according to the agreed percentage, was N22,000,600.”

According to him, the vehicles would be delivered within six to eight weeks after payment to the company’s account domiciled in Heritage Bank.

“We made the payment in September 2020, hoping we would start receiving the vehicles the following month,” said Obabiyi.

Surprisingly, only one car was delivered on November 14, 2020, according to Obabiyi. Two weeks later, another car was delivered, making two out of 58 vehicles.

The medical workers have tried many approaches to press home their demands, but all efforts proved abortive. Several complaints have been filed against the company, but it seems to enjoy the protection of the authorities.
“In August, we wrote to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) and the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), but nothing good has come out so far,” Obabiyi said.

He said some staff members angered by the fraudulent conduct of the company have been demanding a refund.

Oyemike, the CEO of the company, has been evading chances to dialogue with the affected workers. According to Obabiyi, he has been giving dates without fulfilling his promises.

His contact lines were disabled about a few days ago, according to Obabiyi.
When FIJ tried to contact him, automated responses revealed his lines were switched off.

NOT THE FIRST TIME

Over 100 personnel of the Federal Fire Service, Abuja, were rendered helpless by Whitehorse Capital Ltd. in July 2021, FIJ learned.

Just like he did to workers of the Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta, the company approached the staff of the Federal Fire Service, filching millions of naira without delivering the vehicles they subscribed for.

When FIJ contacted Chinedu Onyemachalu, a staff member of the company’s administrative department, he revealed that the company closed down in July 2021 after breaching several agreements.

“Many angry customers had invaded our office, parting with valuable properties,” Chinedu said. “The company closed down to avoid embarrassment.”

Asked about the whereabouts of the CEO, he said he had been unreachable since last year.

“We cannot reach him via the phone. We don’t know where he has been,” Chinedu told FIJ.

However, he assured FIJ that once everything returns to normal, the vehicle would be distributed to the subscribers.

BUREAUCRACY DELAYS PETITIONS

Advent Boniface, a superintending officer at the ICPC, told FIJ that though angry FMC workers unanimously petitioned the agency, there are procedures guiding such submissions.
Noting that ICPC may lack the power to investigate and prosecute, he said there are about 10 procedures that petitions go through before a final decision.

“At the receipt of a petition, it would be reviewed,” Advent stated. “You have to identify the offense, the suspect(s), evidence and witnesses.”

“Then you move to investigations and strategies. After investigations, there’s going to be another review,” he said. “There is evaluation of evidence. At this point, it means there is a prima facie case which would lead to drafting of charges and many other procedures.”

Advent said he would advise the complainants to write a reminder to the ICPC chairman to achieve their purpose.

Speaking with FIJ, Wilson Uwujaren, the EFCC spokesman, said: “You said you received a complaint; how are you going to resolve their complaints since you are the agency now? I wouldn’t know If they have written a petition.”

If the workers have written a petition, said Wilson, they should wait until the commission picks interest in the case.

Obabiyi told FIJ that the FCID officers were aware that the office was under lock and key.

“The last time I went to Abuja, the police followed me to the company’s premises, but we found it locked,” he said.

The huge advantage of NDA graduates is that they enter the system at a very young age and attain the highest rank possible before retirement. Therefore, majority of the senior most officers are NDA graduates.

No school prevents health workers from vacinating children. There are times the children have already been vacinated in churches and some other places. The school needs to inform parents to know if their children should take it or not.
The last time my son's school put something like that on the whatsapp platform. Some parents said their children had already taken. I as a person I saw it as an opportunity for him to be vacinated and likewise some other parents. The health worker should have been patient.

The vaccine is given to all regardless whether they already took or not.
