Soldiers Foil Attack On Oyedepo’s School In Kaduna

Soldiers in the early hours of Monday thwarted an attack on Faith Academy, a secondary school owned by Living Faith Church Worldwide, founded by Bishop David Oyedpo.

The school is not far from a boarding school where many students were abducted in Chikun local government area of Kaduna State.

Daily Trust gathered that gunmen had launched coordinated attacks on both Bethel secondary school and Faith Academy in the early hours of Monday.

While they abducted students at Bethel School, the attack on Faith Academy[img][/img] was foiled.

A security agent confirmed to our correspondent that the gunmen broke into the premises of Faith Academy through the back fence around 1am but were repelled by soldiers, with assistance from the school security team.

A parent, whose son attends the school, told our correspondent that the school management had last week instructed all students to go home, except SS3 students who were preparing for final year exams.

She said adequate provision has been made to move the SS3 students to Barnawa in Kaduna south local government area where they are expected to continue with their studies.

She commended security agents for their timely intervention, saying her son and others who were in the hostel during the attack are safe and have been evacuated from the school premises.

When contacted, the Kaduna State Police Command through the Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Jalige, said he could not confirm it but security agents were busy thwarting attacks by bandits throughout the night.

Israel is overrated. Israel has a very small military. Small Navy & Small Air Force. Despite the high standard of the weapons they possess. They can not stand the full force of the first 4 countries on that list. They just don't have the fund and enough millitary assets to withstand a full scale war with the first four countries on that list.

Israelis military is designed to survive in the middle east. They are far ahead of all the countries sorrounding them (Egypt & Iran manage to close the gap a bit). Lebanese military is extremely weak. Palestine has no military. Syrian military is suffering from arms embargo. Jordan military is extremely small.

The likes of US, Russia, China & India have enough missile, fighter jets and bombers that will overwhelme Israel's defence systems and fighter jets any time any day.

There is a limit US allies can grow (in terms of military). Japan, South Korea, UK, German, Italy, Spain, Israel & Turkey with the exception of France are comfortable being under the shield of the US. They spend less on defence. Imagine US spends 1 trillion dollars on defence yearly (about $750 on their military and abiut & $300+ on homeland security). Imagine it take 3 or 4 European countries (UK, German, Italy...) to build the Eurofighter Typhoon. Likewise the Tiger armour tank. Japan, South Korea & Israel have not being able to build their own fighter jet.

Lool wrong!!!!

The Israeli Airforce is one of the biggest and sophisticated in the world. It currently has close to 700 aircrafts with about 45,000 air Force personnel. This is about the same number with British or French Airforce.

Israel land army has a lot of fire power contrary to what you think.
The navy isn't that strong, but a strategic acquisition of a aircraft carrier can enable it prosecute wars beyond her shores.

Overwhelm the Israeli Airforce You saw the iron done take down 4000 hamas rockets and you say this. No nation apart from Russia, USA has upto 4000 jets.

The point about North Korea and its abysmal economy is clearly lost on a lot of these people hyping the pariah shithole.

You need A LOT of money and economic 'shock absorbers' to sustain a war effort for any length of time.

That's same reason I believe Saudi Arabia can't be overlooked as a military power in its own right. It has enough in reserves to sustain a war effort against the likes of Iran for instance.
Oh someone finally gets it. Many people just assume that because one country is busy doing gra gra with soldiers marching like robots or testing so called icbm that means it is a force to reckon with.

If not for fear of 25 million refugees at the borders of South Korea and China when such a war starts North Korea would have been dealt with long ago.

They dismissing Saudi is what amazes me the most. A country that spends that much of stockpiling the best of the best weapons can't be overlooked.

Not many people know the so called iron dome was spearheaded by the USA. They have it and gave Israel the technology and financial support. The USA had it before Israel but they barely use it because "they are too big for it." They have better and more sophisticated missile defence systems . The iron dome is useless against stealth missiles like the UGM-133 Trident and AGM-129A. They are only reliable against low budget missiles from countries like Syria and militias like Hezbollah.

Cc Nodogragra4me

Please stop propagating falsehoods. The americans jointly funded the development of Iron dome with Israel. And thats why Israel agrees to sell units of iron done to them.

However, iron dome was 100% developed by israels Rafael defence corporation. It is wholly an israel invention. Only Israel has the source code which they dont share with Americans.

Contrary to what you think, anti missile systems are built for specific purposes. You cant use Iron Dome for Trident it wasn't built for countering nuclear warheads. Israel has the Arrow3 system that is capable of shooting out a trisent missile even in space as far 2500km.

What in the hell are you on abt?

If there is a full blown war it’s the nuclear Arsenals that will save them, they don’t have the personel count!

Go and read abt the invasion by Nazi Germany on USSR in the winter of 1941. The Nazies had the best in everything latest tanks, planes and all but that was suppose to be an easy take of of Moscow within 3 months. The battle lasted more than 8months and they still lost! Even after killing over 5millon Russians.
This invasion single handedly led to Hitlers lose of ww2. Because he lost a lot of his Arsenal!

What saved the Russians?
They couldn’t match the Germans in technology but they out witted them in war tactics. They had more soldiers and had terrain advantage!

So in summary take away the nuclear weapons from Isreal and the backings on NATO and the US and see what will become of it within a month!

Back to the topic!
The list is even a gabbage list…
US riding on past glory!
We all saw a tread here on nairaland on how the Russians simulated a war scenario where they flew jets for over 18hrs and refueling them on air.

These guys are doing more war-like drills
US dey there dey argue how many LGBTQ soldiers them get.

This is my list… my opinion!
1) China (they have the numbers plus tech)
2) US ( still gat some tech and tricks up their sleeves)
3) Russia ( stubborn as fvck- never lost a major war!)
4) Britain (they have the highest navy fleet and are loyal as fvck to the queen)
5) India (the underdogs + have some tech + giving china headache)

Honorable mentions
North Korea (crazy guys no one dares go near them)
France ( use to have good navy fleets but they’re just slackers now, all they do is hide under NATO and do shht)
I'm sure it was the Nuclear weapons or Nato that saved Israel during the six days war, or even during the war of attrition in 1973.

If the Arabs come in 1-3 nations at a time Israel would defeat them. If they come in more than 3s then they deserve to be nuked .

Turkey is a member of nato. Let it try go after Israel and let's see what would happen.

Don’t mind these clowns, they won’t do research.
If you probe them further now, they will tie it to religion. Just give Iran one single nuke and see.

That’s why the US will never allow any of the surrounding nations to have nuclear weapons!
Go and do research and tell me how much money US gives Egypt and Pakistan lol.
With or without US aid. Israel still spends the equivalent of your national budget on its military and would do very well.

Stop fooling yourself. Many of Israel's near-peer adversaries are under one military sanction or the other. So, their strength is often overhyped. The 2006 Lebanon War has exposed their operational weaknesses.

Besides, most of Israel's military hardware are US inventions and they always play the victim card to get more. That's the only edge they have over countries like Iran and Egypt.

To show how ignorant you're, you even dismissed North Korea's military strength. Sit down and read about the Korean War. Also, read about the ongoing Yemeni War.
You want to talk about operational weakness. The Chinese military ran away after it invaded Vietnam - as it was loosing soldiers in tens of thousands.

The Lebanese war? You dunno what you talking again. Israel bombed the crap out of Lebanese infrastructure. Hezbollah today says given the 2006 war with Israel it doesn't even look forward to any newer confrontation.

"Most of Israel hardware are us invention." This is nonsense talk. You should read better. IAF is the most equipment independent nation in Asia.

So you mean Saudi, Qatar, Kuwait, Egypt, Pakistan, Morocco, Iraq and Jordan are under US sanctions? Please just go and sleep. You are super duper ignorant.

Last, there's nothing whatsoever to North Korean military. It is not even a credible threat one bit. The real reason no one wants war in the peninsula are far more intricate than you know.

North Korea today barely has any military system made in the past two decades. Even it's so called icbm program hasn't been perfected for many decades still. There are active embargos on them even purchasing weapons.

You could fly F35 into Pyongyang and North Korea wouldn't even know anything entered her airspace. It's economy is just about that of Congo. Or do you think warfare is about a group of soldiers marching as though they were robots lol.

So in your mind, Israel is more powerful than India, and Saudi Arabia is more powerful than the likes of Iran, Pakistan, and North Korea. Lol
India is a strong force. Yes. But it's major strength is her size which becomes less important in modern warfare.
Most military confrontation in today's world would be fought on air or sea. Not on land.

India air Force is no match for Israel's believe it or not.
Yes, Saudi is controversial in that they lack battle experience. But hey, they are the fourth largest spenders on military equipment globally for sometime now.
That counts for a lot of massive fire power. They have outperform anyone in Asia on fire power. Whether they can convert that to a win is yet to be seen.

There's nothing to North korea, leave all that bragaddocio Kim makes. A country where half the army are suffering from hunger lol.

How is Chiña's airforce superb? Please tell me. In case you don't know the vast majority of Chiña's most current fleet where based on stolen and improperly developed tech. They are chinko planes. Reason you don't see many countries lining up to buy them! They buy Russian Sukhois, US F series, French Dassault Rafales, Eurofighter typhoons. Amazing. First time ever.

If you don't fear anything fear the Israeli airforce.

A bit of context: During the gulf war when Israel was attacked by Iraq with scud missiles. America begged Israel to stay out of the conflict as Israel participation would scatter the Aran coalition.

The USA then armed Israel with Patriot missiles with a interceptor costing $1,000,000. The Patriot missiles underperformed. This birthed the Iron Dome programme which outperforms the Patriot missiles and cost $40,000.

But with Hamas, Hezbollah now moving mad stockpiling rocket and kamikaze Drones. Israel is embarking on the Iron beam tech to counter Hamas with very low cost laser intervention.

Foreign Affairs / Israeli Military Shoots Down Drones With Laser Technology Mounted On Aircraft by HigherEd: 8:09am On Jun 25, 2021
The Israeli military put a high-powered laser weapon system on an aircraft.

Last week, it put the weapon to the test, using it to shoot down drones in flight.

The Israeli Ministry of Defense said the plane shot down all the unmanned aircraft it engaged.

The Israeli military used a plane armed with a high-powered laser to intercept and shoot down unmanned aircraft in flight in a first-of-its-kind test for the Israeli armed forces, which are constantly searching for new ways to counter airborne threats such as rockets and drones from Gaza and elsewhere.

The High-Power Laser Weapon System was installed on an aircraft equipped with advanced sensors and tracking systems and used to engage multiple drones at various ranges and altitudes.

During testing, conducted last week by the Israeli Ministry of Defense and the local defense firm Elbit Systems, the aircraft "successfully intercepted and destroyed 100% of the UAVs launched during the test," the defense ministry said.

The Israeli Ministry of Defense tweeted that Israel is "among the first countries in the world to demonstrate such capabilities." The armed forces released a video of the testing.

"This is the first phase in a multi-year program to develop an advanced airborne laser system that will add another layer to Israel's multi-tier defense array, complementing the capabilities of the Iron Dome, David's Sling and Arrow systems," the Israeli defense ministry said.

During the latest round of intense fighting between Israel and Palestinian militants in Gaza, ground-based interceptor systems such as the Iron Dome were used to intercept incoming rockets, as well as enemy unmanned aerial vehicles, and these vital systems, for the most part, performed exceptionally well.

But expending a costly interceptor missile on a potentially inexpensive drone is not as efficient as a laser, which is one reason militaries around the world have been increasingly looking to air-, land-, and sea-based lasers for countering drones.

Commenting on the recent testing, Brig. Gen. Yaniv Rotem, the head of the military's research and development efforts, said that "this is the first time in the State of Israel, and perhaps in the world, that this was done," characterizing the test as a "groundbreaking technological achievement," The Jerusalem Post reported.

The general said the weapon is "powerful and precise" and can intercept targets "no matter the weather conditions."

During the intercept trials last week, the aircraft armed with a laser was able to shoot down targets within a range of about 1 kilometer, but the aim is to eventually extend the weapon's range to tens, possibly even hundreds, of kilometers away. That kind of capability is likely still years away.

The Israeli defense ministry also hopes to expand this capability to other aerial platforms with the potential for offensive and defensive use.

Huh I don't think you know what you are talking about.
Israel's airforce is the fourth to fifth best in the world. Matches the French or British airforce. And can infact significantly defeat the Chinese airforce in aerial combat because it has a better fleet of well performing American fighter jets that has been even enhanced by Israeli engineers. Infact the only adversaries that convincingly beat the Israeli airforce is Russia and USA. But mind you, during the war of attrition at Sinai, it did overpower Soviet airforce.

Infact Israel has a better understanding of US made fighter jets lol because it is always
illegally invading and evading Syrian and Iranian airspace and frequently encounters live Russian systems and knows which ones are really a threat unlike US airforce that can only predict by theory.

Remains one of the five countries in the world that can shoot out a satellite from space. And the only country that can shoot a dangerous incoming nuclear powered ICBM even before it reenters Earth's atmosphere with it's Arrow3 system.

Has the best integrated air defense system in the world. Protected at 2500km by Arrow3, Arrow2 at 1500km, David Sling at 250km, Iron Dome at 70km and newly Iron Beam (laser tech to complement iron dome). Lastly, the Barack8 jointly designed with India protects it's shores.

Heard of Heron Drone? The fifth best UAV in the world is the best in the middle East, only Turkey can mildly compete with drone technology.

Heard of it's Merkava tank? They are the only indigenous tank specifically built for the middle East terrain. You don't want to see that sh*t in battle. Israel's enemies mostly use American tanks that are not suitable for that terrain.

Heard of its Air To Surface Missile, the "Delilah" tasked within destroying a nations air defense system before Israel's airforce swarms an airspace. It would take out the best Russian S500,400 and 300.

Israel's JerichoIII surface to air can strike targets as far as Abuja, Capetown, Alaska. Anywhere in the world really. Her land forces are some of the best trained in the world with a large supply of well trained reservists to make for the small numbers.

Her Shateyetet special forces are just as good as US Navy seals or Delta force.

The only average segment of Israeli Military is the Navy. This is because Israel's military doctrine is defensive not offensive. And israels problems can mostly come aerially and from land. Not sea.

Not putting Israel on that makes the list a perfect joke.
Many of you measure Israel's military with her crisis with Gaza. Not knowing it is only handling Hamas with kid gloves. Let Iran directly try nonsense that day you would see premium tears in the middle East.

1) USA

4) Britain
5) France
6) Israel
7) India
cool Turkey
9) South Korea
10) Saudi Arabia

Some of you quoting Japan smh. Know this, Japan and Germany both currently suffer national PTSD from the consequences of the nuclear attack on Japan and regrets of the Germans during world war 2. The volley of 130 rockets, which killed a six-year-old boy in southern Israel and set off air raid warnings up to Tel Aviv, was a response to the destruction of Gaza City's Al-Farouk tower.
Hamas unleashed a fresh barrage of deadly rocket fire towards Israel Wednesday in retaliation for the levelling of a 14-story building in Gaza by Israel, which ruled out an imminent ceasefire.

Hamas said the volley of 130 rockets, which killed a six-year-old boy in southern Israel and set off air raid warnings up to Tel Aviv, was a response to the destruction of Gaza City's Al-Farouk tower.

Israel's Defence Minister Benny Gantz had earlier vowed more attacks on Hamas and other Islamist militant groups in Gaza to bring "total, long-term quiet" before considering a ceasefire.

"This is just the beginning," warned Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. "We'll deliver them blows they haven't dreamt of."

Gaza militants have launched more than 1,000 rockets since Monday, said Israel's army, which has carried out more than 350 air strikes on the crowded coastal enclave, targeting what it calls military sites.

The most intense hostilities in seven years have killed at least 56 people in Gaza, including 14 children, and seven in Israel, including a soldier and one Indian national, since Monday.

The six-year-old boy died after a rocket struck his home in Sderot, where four other people were being treated for injuries, the United Hatzalah volunteer rescue agency said.

Three Palestinians have been killed in West Bank clashes since Monday. And at least 230 Palestinians and 110 Israelis have been wounded.

The bloodshed was triggered by weekend unrest at Jerusalem's Al-Aqsa mosque compound, which is sacred to both Muslims and Jews.

Fears of 'full-scale war'
As world powers voiced growing alarm over the crisis, the UN Middle East envoy Tor Wennesland warned that "we're escalating towards a full-scale war".

The UN Security Council held another emergency meeting without agreeing on a joint statement due to opposition from the United States, Israel's ally.

Mr. Netanyahu spoke on late Wednesday to U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, who reiterated his call to "end the violence".

Mr. Netanyahu declared a state of emergency in the mixed Jewish-Arab Israeli city of Lod, where police said "wide-scale riots erupted among some of the Arab residents", and authorities later imposed an overnight curfew there.

There were fears of widening civil unrest as protesters waving Palestinian flags burnt cars and properties, including a synagogue, clashed with Israeli police and attacked Jewish motorists in several Jewish-Arab towns.

Israel's President Reuven Rivlin, in unusually strong language, denounced what he described as a "pogrom" in which "an incited and bloodthirsty Arab mob" had injured people and attacked sacred Jewish spaces.

Hamas said several of its top commanders have been killed in Israeli strikes, including its military chief in Gaza City, Bassem Issa.

Its leader Ismail Haniyeh threatened to step up attacks, warning that "if Israel wants to escalate, we are ready for it".

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson urged both sides to "step back from the brink".

French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said "everything must be done" to avoid a new Middle East conflict.

'We don't have a safe room'
In Gaza City, people have sifted through debris after a previous Israeli air strike destroyed a 12-storey building that Hamas said had been a residential building. It was also known to house the offices of several Hamas officials.

Five members of a single family were killed by an Israeli strike in northern Gaza on Tuesday, including young brothers Ibrahim and Marwan, who were filling sacks of straw at the time.

"We were laughing and having fun when suddenly they began to bomb us. Everything around us caught fire," their cousin, also called Ibrahim, said.

In Israel's central city of Lod, a man and a girl were killed on Wednesday by rocket fire from Gaza. Israel identified one of the dead as 16-year-old Nadin Awad, an Arab Israeli.

Her cousin, Ahmad Ismail, told public broadcaster Kan that he was near Nadin when she was killed alongside her father Khalil Awad, 52.

"I was at home, we heard the noise of the rocket," said Ismail. "It happened so quickly. Even if we had wanted to run somewhere, we don't have a safe room."

An Israeli woman was killed when rockets hit Rishon Letzion near Tel Aviv. In Ashkelon, a town near Gaza which Hamas threatened to turn into "hell", rockets fired by militants killed two women on Tuesday.

The crisis flared last Friday when weeks of tensions boiled over and Israeli riot police clashed with crowds of Palestinians at Jerusalem's Al-Aqsa mosque.

Nightly disturbances have since flared in east Jerusalem, leaving more than 900 Palestinians injured, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent.

The unrest has been driven by anger over the looming evictions of Palestinian families from the Jerusalem

Israel
China

The Christians have holy sites in Jerusalem - church of the sepulchre, birthplace of Jesus and other shared sites with Judaism.

You would never hear Christians today fighting the true indigens of Jerusalem - jews over this holy sites of ours. Not the Muslims, Always looking for trouble.
