Lol what sort of foolery do we call regulation in this country.. Of what business is the succession of a bank's leadership to CBN. There needs not be a misconduct to fire a MD. What if the board doesn't see growth in certain kpi and decides to change course. Lalasticlala |
Politics / Re: Ignore Insinuations Linking Pantami To Yakowa’s Death - Kaduna CAN Chairman by HigherEd: 7:02pm On Apr 22, 2021 |
It is clear that CAN leadership in Kaduna is compromised. I started watching out for them the day they gave endorsement to the new igp with no substantial argument on why he's beneficial to the Christian community. How can you tell people not to link yakowa death to Pantami and in the same breadth say there was no thorough investigation into the fatal crash. Is that not the purpose for the outcry Since this allegation came out, has Pantami come out to deny he wasn't involved in the death of Yakowa? If not, why are you preempting his innocence? Whos suppose to do investigate? Is it the people crying out or the stupid govt which now acts deaf and is simply waiting this out. |

I mean even the churches are wary of the north. I read on churchgist how the living faith abruptly cancelled all its plan to build a university in the north over security Intel. I don't think they ever plan to return to that idea. I hope they all begin paying attention to their own security and stop relying on fg or state govt. 8 Likes |

My unsolicited advice to the Staff and Management of the Theological School and the Living faith Camp, located at the Outskirts of Kaduna;be extra vigilant. https://twitter.com/ShehuSani/status/1384826655387041794?s=19 4 Likes 3 Shares

The north is one region that has invested in violence and is now only reaping it. I'm only praying to make a whole lot of money and create an organization that would focus on protecting the Christian minorities there. That's my only concern right now for any state north of Abuja. The Christian minorities who had no fault in creating such a toxic region filled with religious extremism bear the biggest brunt. When the Muslims are tired of the monster they are breeding they would talk sense into themselves. I wish them well. Lalasticlala 13 Likes |

WINNERS’ CHAPEL’S BELIEF IN USE OF NIGERIANS FOR MAJOR CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS IN NIGERIA : A MODEL TO BE EMULATED Leke Beecroft In 1999, Engineer Ike Chukwuneke, a Structural Engineer won the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) Engineer of the Year award for the design of Faith Tabernacle. In a meeting with major construction firms before the project began, these foreign construction companies had claimed that not only was it unworkable to design a large church auditorium of such a magnitude without visible pillars, they added that it would take 3 years. The Living Faith Church was left with going ahead with prophetic conviction and used pastors and other church members to build the Faith Tabernacle without any visible pillar in exactly 12 months causing the companies to come and take pictures of the project while British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) correspondent, Jeremy Guy Vine came to conduct an interview with Bishop Oyedepo in 1999 and while he asserted that he could not confirm veracity of the information that it was the largest church auditorium, he admitted that ‘Faith Tabernacle was rather large’. Church Gist. By 2008, the Guiness Book of World Records confirmed the architectural feat of the world’s largest church auditorium with 50,000 capacity (actually 51,400). History repeats itself. Architect Gbenga Alalade is the Architect Who designed Living Faith Church’s Multi-billion Naira Legacy Project: The 100,000 capacity Ark (which is actually 109,345 capacity). At the ground breaking of the multi billion naira Ark project on Thursday 25th March 2021, Bishop Oyedepo called different groups of workers including the local construction company Laralek (earlier discussed on this platform) to the altar to be blessed. Notable among them was Architect Gbenga Alalade Johnson who was the brain behind the design of the Ark. Architect Gbenga is a thoroughbred product of Living Faith Church’s Flagship Higher Institution, the renowned Covenant University. It is interesting to note that in the past, Winners’ Chapel had always seemingly placed utility over aesthetics in her building projects. Church Gist. The Ark stands out as one of the most beautiful designs ever embarked upon by the Church and a balance between aesthetics and utility. Here is Architect Gbenga Alalade Johnson’s Profile. BSc Architecture, Covenant University:2002 - 2006 MSc Architecture, Covenant University:2006 -2008 PhD Architecture, Covenant University:2010 - 2016 Architect Alalade has concluded other numerous projects for the Church. He is consequently a proof of the Church’s strong faith in her own indigenous talents. As the Founding Bishop would say ‘It does not have to be white to be right’ and as he quotes from Acts 10:34-35; ...”God is no respecter of persons: But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him”. Amotolongbo I am not sure about that. He was an employee of the university as the physical planning director when he designed all of these projects. He was also a lecturer of the school so I doubt he was paid separately for most of those projects. If he was paid, maybe the living faith own. Definitely not the Covenant own. 46 Likes 6 Shares |

How you build a 5.2 billion naira primary school NUC requirement for starting a university is N1 Billion. Forbes is wrong. Oyedepo would be roughly worth the same as Abdul Rabiu of Bua. 300 million naira for bookstore, not library. Place where dem dey buy book . 95 Likes 5 Shares |

CodeTemplar:As in. it seems our people don't understand the power of data and economics. I remember one Adamu garba during elections say he would ban private primary and secondary school and invest in public education like Rwanda. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. What I found amusing was the number of people cheering the stupidity on. Imagine taking Children away from Ambassadors college where there parents are fine paying their fees and go give them free education. Imagine the collapse of the public education sector. Did Adamu check the birth rate or the amount private sector represents in education. I pity for this country. 5 Likes |
Education / Why The Government Is Right In Licensing New Private Universities (Opinion) by HigherEd: 9:00am On Apr 09, 2021 |
1) Nigeria's Birth Rate Is Too High: Every year, Nigeria adds about 200,000 more candidates to UTME. The UTME candidacy of 2021 is largely predicated on the birth rate of 1998 - 2004 which hovered around 6.16 births per woman. In 2021, Nigeria still has one of the largest birth rate in the world with 5.4 children per woman. However, unlike 1998 - 2004 there's even far greater appetite for education and a dwindle in child mortality. What this means is Nigeria is set for serious admission crisis in the near future. Any nation which wants a purely public funded education must keep her annual birth growth to less than 3.0 per woman. E.g Finland has 1.3 birth per woman, Sweden has 1.6 birth per woman, China has 1.7 birth per woman. 2) The Public Universities Are Simply Not Enough: For public universities to solely handle admission would require admitting 21, 000 students per annum currently. Where is the infrastructure and finance for this? Note that even the mighty Harvard University admits less than 2000 students per annum even when it has 45000 applicants. Caltech admits only 300 students per annum. It is popular knowledge that the smaller a university the better the experience. 3) Ministry Of Education Has Little Business With Industrialization: I have heard many say "build factories". This is not the business of the ministry of education. The ministry of education is to provide well trained graduates, ensure quality curriculum and access to esucation. It is the business of the Ministry of Finance and Economy to create policies that fosters industrialization and uptakes graduates. As long as people give birth with no discretion, there would be need to create more universities or regulate the number of children. 4) Your Education Budget Would Not Increase Anytime Soon: In case you don't know, Nigeria has multiple challenges in varying sectors. No one is going to lower appropriation to health sector, security etc to increase allocation to education. So the attending inflation combined with population surge would only create worse classrooms, hostels etc. And there's nothing anyone can do about it. This is because students in public varsities aren't paying the full cost of education. So as the purchasing power of the naira dwindles, the quality of education dwindles. 5) Every Private Varsity Starts Really Small: Quite a number of folks easily scream substandard when they see a private university with five buildings. Having five buildings on startup doesn't necessarily equate substandard education. As a matter of fact, most great universities actually start that small and grow rapidly over the decades. A good example, Covenant University started with less than 5 buildings in 2002. But in 2021 it has over 200 buildings. Unlike the public sector, the private universities can grow because their business model is in tune with the realities of the economy. 6) Your PhD Graduates Need Places To Work Academia is a service industry on its own. Most PhDs need to be absorbed by research centers, universities etc. The industry can only be robust when you have sufficient diverse institutions that can absorb the number of academics being churned out annually. 24 Likes 3 Shares |

That oyedepo created a university doesn't mean there isn't a professor as VC. But supplying the vision and executing overall leadership can't be outsourced. So get my point.
