The Lord JESUS constantly says "watch". Like Sodom and Gomorrah (which is no simple tale, but history / reality and an example to the rest of humanity thereafter). GOD will bring HIS righteous judgment on all not not justified by HIS grace and mercy in The Lord JESUS CHRIST, including HIS church (1 Peter 4:17, Matt 7:22-27).

Love ought never to expire.  Just as GOD, The Lord JESUS CHRIST has freely, graciously and mercifully bestowed HIS love on many (HIS saints, children - collectively, HIS church or bride), so men ought to love there wives, always and unconditionally and vice versa. 

"Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;  That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,  That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.  So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.  For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.  For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. Fair to say someone who had material wealth would buy him or herself a house to live in right??

Don't be deceived! If one has been blessed with honest wealth, it is a blessing from GOD. (Deut 8:18). However, The Lord JESUS CHRIST spoke against emphasis on material wealth, because wealth can be a snare. "Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me: Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is the LORD? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain." - Prov 30:8-9

The wealth in view that matters is spiritual wealth, that is, salvation from the righteous wrath of GOD for sin through our Lord JESUS CHRIST. With what can one compare GOD's pardon and salvation and love?

"It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved? And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible" - Mark 10:25-27

By GOD's mercy, you may just win your wife by your conduct in loving her unconditionally. Pray for strength. May GOD bless you.

At the same time, work as hard has you can. GOD in HIS faithfulness and goodness blesses efforts. For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies. Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread." - 2 Th 3:10-12

But one must always give GOD all thanks and glory for all one has and is (if you're sick or incapacitated in some way or the other, you cannot enjoy your wealth). Thus one should thank and praise GOD, "Who fed thee in the wilderness with manna, which thy fathers knew not, that he might humble thee, and that he might prove thee, to do thee good at thy latter end; And thou say in thine heart, My power and the might of mine hand hath gotten me this wealth. But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day." - Deut 8:16-18

GOD's purposes are always accomplished according to the perfect counsel of HIS will, through HIS word in the lives of those who HE wants.

"He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he." - Deut 32:4

The King James Version is not without its mistakes, but they are at a minimum compared to other versions. Thus, the most accurate version is the Original King James Version. I humbly suggest using a concordance and perhaps an interlinear Bible containing Hebrew and Greek texts.
