It is encouraging to see that there is some effort toward forgiveness and reconciliation because there's to be no divorce for any reason. "Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. No human being of himself / herself is perfect, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of GOD;” - Rom 3:23, only GOD is perfect. Tell them both to pray, read the word of GOD together if possible and just forgive and forget and try and move on together. What prohibits people from "breaking the ice" in strife, which ought not be so, is pride. I'm sad to hear about your situation. First, "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." - Phil 4:6-7 ("be careful" = be anxious, for nothing). Second, yes, in love and patience, candidly sit with him and talk with him. You are to love each other unconditionally. He should not be intimate with you when you are on your monthly. @op, there is to be no divorce for any reason. Husbands are to love their wives unconditionally and vice verse. Tell you friend to "watch and pray lest ye enter into temptation". Pray for the strength and grace to love his wife unconditionally, do nice things for her, "woo" her. A refusal to do so may be centered around pride? (GOD knows all things). Someone who is truly born of GOD is capable of falling into sin because he or she still lives in a body that is capable of sin when one takes one's eyes off the Lord JESUS CHRIST, which is a reason why The Lord says "Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak." - Matt 26:41. However, a true child of GOD by HIS grace does not go on and on in sin as he/she would find it repugnant, and would be disturbed, and by GOD's mercy and grace, beseech The Lord JESUS CHRIST to continue to strengthen one (Phil 4:13). Paul, under the inspiration of the HOLY SPIRIT, testifies - "I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?" - Rom 7:21-24. This is also evidenced by David, a son, servant and prophet of GOD falling into grievous sin - "For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest. Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me." - Psa 51:3-5 GOD chastens HIS own in faithfulness and righteousness, that they don't go on in sin. - "For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?" - Heb 12:6-9 ----------- "What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? Verses like this, as well as many others in the holy word of GOD are parabolic in nature and illustrative of Spiritual things, though at the time, before The Lord JESUS CHRIST came to fulfill the law, they were to be undertaken literally. The Law is The Law, which is a shadow of things (Col 2:16, Heb 10:1). How does it take away from the core message of the gospel of salvation from the righteous wrath of GOD for sin on mankind through The Lord JESUS CHRIST, The only Savior, which is this: “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of GOD;” - Rom 3:23 “For the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of GOD [is] eternal life through JESUS CHRIST our Lord.” - Rom 6:23 “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” - Acts 4:12 “So then faith [cometh] by hearing, and hearing by the word of GOD.” - Rom 10:17 --------- "As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness. But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen" - 2 Pet 3:16-18 |
Every human that has ever existed on this planet from Adam on down is a sinner - “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of GOD;” - Rom 3:23, "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:" - Rom 3:10, but for the righteousness of GOD imputed to those that are justified in The Lord JESUS CHRIST, GOD, by GOD's mercy and grace. “For the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of GOD [is] eternal life through JESUS CHRIST our Lord.” - Rom 6:23 "Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works, Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin." - Rom 4:6-8 The word of GOD is truth, no prophecy therein has failed - "For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost." - 2 Pet 1:21 Therefore, anyone who faithfully declares the word of GOD, in truth (particularly when one is truly saved / justified, and is indwelt by GOD, The HOLY SPIRIT, and thus truly authorized and commissioned /commanded to do so), one is bearing true witness based on the word of GOD. - Luke 19:13, 2 Tim 4:5, etc --------- "And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy." - Rev 19:10 |
@chicago, when speaking about HIS Eternal Excellent Majesty, JEHOVAH / YAHWEH, one must speak very humbly, reverently and in fear because "God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all them that are about him." - Psa_89:7, "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one." - 1 John 5:7 I believe that when one worships The Holy FATHER in the Name of The Lord JESUS CHRIST, The SON of GOD, The "Almighty" (Rev 1:7- , via The HOLY SPIRIT Who indwells, one worships GOD in HIS entirety, WHO is One - "But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. - John 4:23, because there is "One Lord, one faith, one baptism," - Eph 4:5 Command to worship The Lord JESUS CHRIST, "For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily." - Col_2:9 "Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline thine ear; forget also thine own people, and thy father's house; So shall the king greatly desire thy beauty: for he is thy Lord; and worship thou him." - Psa 45:10-11 "And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh." - Matt 2:11 "And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. Rather, having "a sex affair outside marriage" is either adultery and/or fornication, which is sin which comes with consequences. Suppose a guy married a woman based on the fact that she had the best toes there are in this world, objectively or subjectively speaking, but yet, she doesn't fear GOD and is a daily terror to him? Only The Lord GOD Himself can open the understanding to the holy scriptures, because they are "spiritually discerned", yet we ought to read /watch fervently, and pray without ceasing. The Lord JESUS CHRIST is The Son of GOD, and GOD Himself. - "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." - Isa 9:6.
