Yes o NCE has been saved, It is now 5 credit to make i to coollege of Education HND must be save from HELL

One time minister says telephone is not for the poor. Today poor person  like us can have more than one.

Today the rich man children left the polytechnic for the poor.
Tomorrow they will pay from their nose.

Cost of polytechnic Education is affordable.

Recently it was discovered that the polytechnics are for the poor.
While the rich pay as much as 250,000 Naira for university admissions .

Why will they not be saying nonsense to us HND. Thank s to BaBa for his help for the HND holders.

But what type of Graduate do we need. Doctors are now looking for work by themselves in the street no housemanship again.

So So BAD policy against HND.

Some will say he just want the child to stay at the polytechnic to pass JAMB.

Only GOD is the father of HND holder

Money miss roads are now building Private universities.

For the records, you piece of scum, i passed my SSCE & JAMB at the 1st sitting; when i was in SSS3 before proceeding to the great U.I.

Presently am in U.K undertaking my MSc, so intellectually am definitely not your equal.

Now ask your thick brain, why am i in u.k for my masters?? because i know a day would come when my so-called 1st class certificate from U.I won't be enough. So when the day does come, instead of crying or making frustrated arguments like you and HND-holder, i will be in a better position.

I was in UK before you, may be you are in pry. school then, what is so special about that. Without your parent I doubt if you can do anything on your own. My father passed on when I was in Pry one, yet I did my NYSC at the age of 23 self sponsored. British started the wallah, they since converted their polytechnic to university. They lower the course content of their HND and run in university. Their SSCE/ WA EC is their National Diploma and their own BTEC HND is lower than our HND.

Canada, S/Africa and USA had B.Engineering for 4 years, Their B.Tech for Engineering Technology 3years and 2years Technician Degree all run in the same university.

Nigeria dump all such to polytechnic and encourage all university of tech.

If you have OND you did not have HND you will not understand what we are saying.

to have HND you need 4 Credits+ ND+ YEARS of Exp+ New form to = HND

Check the course content of the HND you will know that NBTE must fight for us.

They better start real technical job from technical college. I call them follow - follo

With all these why Should Hnd Holders Go To Hell, those from unacredited university should should proceed to hell? Some jobless Degree holders are on hell here on earth while some are learning trade .They could have perform better as polytechnic product. Sorry for them, it is not too late to go back to polytechnic

Some of these big noise makers carry 3rd class or PASS , unaccredited programme which are not any way needed by Nigerian economy .

Is that not the reason some had useless DIPLOMA from university? instead of Golden, useful, dependable, poverty removal, hope restoral NATIONAL DIPLOMA from the PRESTIGIOUS NIGERIAN POLYTECHNICS center for technological studies.

The mandate of polytechnic formerly was to produce OND this was review to include HND later NND. This lead to student riot , the middle level thing was only for OND. later ND

Engineer Ahmed Rufai was the Chairman of the 17-member committee,  that  perfect the papers to NBTE which by now should be turning to Policy. Government has done their own o  even if we blame successive governments who failed to underscore the relevance of monotechnic/polytechnic systems through appropriate recognition of their status.  We should also blame HND HOLDERS who ran for cover at the expense of the HND. They do not want to associate with us as they enjoy covering their faces whenever HND is mentioned.

in the monthly meeting of Nigerian society of engineers NSE Ibadan Branch.
Former national Vice President Engr Ajibola told them  on Monday the 31st of July 2006 at studio 3 of NTA Ibadan that    "You must be their and you must say something to fight for your right. Nobody will do that for you.  Because the vacancies are just not there".

Lazy HND holders were scare away.  It is the OND that is middle level not HND. we carry out  the samething  HND holders come out to fight for your right. HH thank you, tell all that obtained HND to come out.

With my HND I was a Committee member of COREN at younger age, I have moved round the world. I have houses , cars and Chains of Degrees  both professional and academic. Married with children to most loving wife. Any HND holder ever  feels discriminated against do no know the salt.

THE removal of the ceiling placed on career progression of Higher National Diploma (HND) holders is a clear indication that the Obasanjo administration takes technical education with seriousness, Executive Secretary of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), Engineer (Dr.) Nuru Yakubu, has said.

Before, HND holders could not exceed Level 14 in the civil service, but President Olusegun Obasanjo issued a presidential directive on January 5 that the ceiling placed on their career progression be removed.


According to Dr. Yakubu, this would give those with HND certificates the chance to compete with degree holders even at the labour market where the disparity had been posing a great threat to them. He commended the Federal Government for the removal of the ceiling, adding that Nigeria was the only country where HND holders were discriminated upon.


Chairman of the 17-member committee, Engineer Ahmed Rufai, had earlier blamed successive governments who failed to underscore the relevance of monotechnic/polytechnic systems through appropriate recognition of their status.

“Even when the mandate of polytechnics were reviewed to include offering HND and curricula upgraded, government failed to make commensurate review of relevant statues, policies and laws to reflect the new reality and opportunities for HND holders”, he said.


He suggested that HND should be termed high level manpower while ND should remain the certificate of middle level manpower, and urged that admission requirements and entrance examination into polytechnics and universities should be harmonised.[/b]

OND may be Equal to NCE. Nce req. 3 credit s straight. OND required 4 credits. Bsc req 5 Credits. But HND is Post ND. i.e. 4credits+ ND + Years of work Exp. = HND

That Diploma is not a qualification it can not be used for anything not even job

As MNSE I will never say anything bad against NSE. We need very strong student wing of NSE to change the focus. Nse is not a mate to ICE,ImechE,IEEE. These bodies are like our own institution of Civil, Agric, Mechanical etc.
