Each time the message starts, I seem uninterested when I hear the usual lines of Success, Breakthrough, New level, Possess your possession.

Yes I know i can achieve all these by simply hardwork, even if i don't go to church.. There are many books I can read to ginger my passion for success. So that is not what i want to hear from my pastor on sunday.

O boy, since last Sunday and even yesterday Wednesday midweek fellowship, Winners Chapel international has been hammering on Righteousness, Holiness and Salvation from Sin.

Friends and family that messed up along the way in their short, short lives on Earth and forgot to ask for forgiveness (or at some point denied the existence of the holy Spirit, which, according to the bible is the only unforgivable sin).

My dear everyone is offered the chance to ask for forgiveness so the issue of forgetting to ask for forgiveness does not arise. The urge to ask comes but we usually want to keep postponing it.

As for the sin against the holy spirit, it is God who knows when someone has sinned in that regard because I ve seen atheists who spoke terrible things yet repented after some years and God forgave them. For me I think that anybody who is still alive has a chance to repent. Anybody who sins against the Holy Ghost will die instantly just like in the case of Ananaias and Saphirra.

Just like we can't save someone who is dying from death when the person's time is up that's how it is. The people in hell fire are praying and wishing that their loved ones alive should repent so as not to join them there. Luke 16: 27,28.

Obviously they know that being angry and rejecting God in life will not save us from coming there rather submitting ourselves to God is what will save us hence the prayer of the rich man. God help us. Amen.

We can't hear them. The case of the rich man and Lazarus happened as it did for a purpose- Christ using it to preach to us. In Rev 14:10 says they lll be tormented in the presence of the holy angels. Not us. We are not angels.

Again remember hell is not going to be like one room with a few persons in it whereby one looks into it and sees people. Its still going to be as large as the earth for it to be able to contain those multitude(my opinion).

But the truth is that we won't even know what's happening in the lake of fire. We are not even happy that people are going to hell that's why we preach passionately that people should repent.

Sweetie I understand how you feel but these are things we can't do anything about just like we couldn't stop ourselves from being born and we can't stop ourselves from dying. That's why the one we are given the power to do while on earth(I.e. Changing our eternal destiny by accepting Jesus into our lives) we should just do it.

For me there's nothing hard in making heaven. All we need is to rely on God's grace. Honestly its very simple just that some preachers make it look as if its such a difficult thing. It is not.

Church leaders should emphasize the oneness in the Body of Christ. There isn't any separate Heaven for every individual denomination. Many persons are quicker to tell you which church they attend rather than they being Christians. This must stop!

I find it very easy to attend any Bible believing Church.

Church leaders may not catch the vision because they are enjoying the attention their congregation is giving them. It is me and you that should do it. We should take the message beyond here.

God is not the author of confusion but it seems that there is confusion in Christendom today. it seems that Christians are longer united. different churches has their own doctrines and belief. Christians no longer speak the same thing. they no longer have one mind and are no longer ready to embrace one another.

the question is, why the division? is Christ divided?
why are we not speaking the same thing? why are we not united in the faith?

why is it that the catholic are not speaking the same thing with Christ embassy, why is Christ embassy not speaking the same thing with celestial church, why is celestial church not speaking the same thing with Redeem christian church of God, why is Redeem christian church of God not speaking the same thing with seventh day adventist, why is seventh day adventist not speaking the same thing with Deeper life church, why is Deeper life church not speaking the same thing with church of Christ, why is church of Christ not speaking the same thing with Methodist church, why is Methodist church not speaking the same thing church of God mission, why is church of God mission not speaking the same thing with mountain of fire and miracles and why is mountain of fire and miracles not speaking the same thing with Jehovah witness?

we should not allow the atheist and Muslim to mock us. let the church find a lasting solution to this problem of division in doctrines and all others.

What you said is right. One of the weapons that the enemy used in fighting the unity of the church is denomination. It is a disease that is not supposed to be allowed within us. I believe that was what paul cautioned the Corinthians about. Denomination produced the jealousy, hatred, fightings, pride and all sorts of nonsense we are seeing among us today. If we could start seeing people of other denominations as our brethren, nothwithstanding our dooctrinal differences, things will get better.

This brings us back to what Jesus told us to LOVE ONE ANOTHER as he(Jesus) loves us. Love is what will make us to pray for one another, support one another when anyone is going down. How many of us do pray for other churches as you pray for your church? I have long started educating the young ones in my church on the need to do away with denomination and see people in other churches as brethren. Love them as you love your church members, pray for them, support them when they need your help.

In our various families, we have our disagreements with our brothers and sisters and with our parents yet we love them, we pray for them, we support them. We dont say because we disagree with them in certain areas therefore they are no more related to us. So why is it that among us children of God, we see other churches as not our brethren because they dont agree exactly with us?

Its not enough to write it here. we all can start in our own little corners to educate people around us. We can also get ourselves together here and start driving the message of unity in diversity among brethren out there. We can spread the message through the media, tracts and magazines. Also through discussion group, seminars and other informal avenues. Once that love is established and the unity is back amongst us, so many things will correct in our doctrines without stress.

Baby dont be neutral. What the op stated are not lies. DO you have your bible? Read acts 4;32-37 and you ll see that the early church handled offerings differently from the way our pastors are doing it. Read other portions of the new testament and you will see that things are not being done right this time around.

Thats a wrong assertion there. There is nothing secret about the bible. The problem is you as a person letting yourself go through the due process of understanding what is written there.

Anything written in the bible is no more a secret. The place that you quoted does not apply to things in the scripture rather things that are not written in the scripture. It is your shallow understanding that makes scripture a secret. The Holy spirit will always open our understanding to the ones we dont understand if we(including you) sincerely yield to him.

Its really painful that greed has taken over the church.

In the early church, contributionss/offerings were made and shared among brethren according to their needs so that they don't live in lack. People sold their lands and brought the money so that it will be shared among brethren. Read Acts 4:32-37.

Church contributions are meant to support brethren but today's pastors are siphoning it into their personal use and building magnificient chUrch building while their members live in abject poverty. Its so painnful.

Naija christians are so gullible. We have a lot of mumu in our churches. May God help us.

Yeah i agree with you but i think the statement "in everything give thanks" is too broad to be narrowed to only what you have said. Limiting it only to what you ve said makes it more of self. I think both your perspective and mine could be part of what makes up that biblical injunction. My opinion.

Truth is without fear there wont be religion. YES.

We avoid a lot of reasonable questions we shld be asking God or his reps (pastors, imams and the rest), but we dont because we are afraid of questioning God.

I take a serious look at my life all the fasting and prayers. Then when good things happen i credit it to God. For real has he done anything for me or i am just carried away in the euphoria of religion around me that credits all good things to God?

I recall praying for a friend with kidney failure all night. We were 3. We stayed up all night praying, yet the young lad died. I can go on and on with examples.

In the second video, a derailed train was mentioned, 17 people died and on little baby boy survived. Christains started celebrating the miracle of the baby that survived and pushed back the fact that 17 souls were lost.

*where the 17 dead worthless? (Tot God is love)
*you know of that 17 dead were bread winners whose family will suffer from their deaths.

This happens today in many churches where people come to give testimony and say they survived an accident that claimed many lives. So selfish!

My dear, life is structured in a way that an unfavourable condition to someone offers a favourable condition to another person.
When people die, while the families of the dead are at serious loss, the casket dealers, the mortuary owners and their workers, the ambulances etc are favoured.

When people fall sick or have accidents, the hospital workers, the drug manufacturers and the drug sellers are favoured.
When someone's car spoils, the mechanic, the spare part dealer, the tow van owner(as the case may be) are all favoured.
When you lose in a job interview, someone else is favoured. etc.
On and on it goes and that is how each an everyone of us benefit in life.

Will you then exempt the man who runs a supermarket or the one who sells tings in the market etc? No. they also benefit from these people who are their customers. I mean he cant say he wont sell his goods to a doctor or a casket dealer etc because they made money out of people's misfortune.

Coming to the issue of christians thanking God when something goes well with them i will say that we are not even doing it the way the bible instructed us. The bible actually said we should give thanks in EVERYTHING. Both in good and bad things that happens to us. Its our selfishness that makes us do it one sided.

If i may look at it based on the examples i ve given above on how we all benefit in life i will say that when something bad happens to you and you give thanks, it means you are thanking God for the other person somewhere whom your misfortune has favoured and thats selflessness which is the life God wants us to live. (This is just my own view pls). For example if you go for a job interview and you lose it, someone else will surely get it. The thanks you are giving means you are appreciating the fact that the other person got the job and this is an act of selflessness. Jesus lived a selfless life and wants us to live that way. This leads us back to- love your neighbour as yourself. I must admit that its not easy to give thanks in bad times. God help us. Amen.
