You're the ignorant one who thinks states are earning more from subsidy removal. How can 40% cover 300% devaluation?

This dude is likely an AI that has been coded to be deliberately slow because no human can be this stupid.

Even if it's 10% increase over 1000% devaluation, what have the state governments been doing with their FAAC - pre and post subsidy removal/devaluation? This simple question is obviously too complex for the lizard brain in your skull.

Don't say what you don't know izombie. Infrastructure wise, Aks beats Rivers hands down. How can Aks have highest unemployment from the south? Where did you get that from?
Makinde is the best gov from Oyo since 1999. Ajimobi failed to pay pensions and gratuities and was even owing some parastatals some salaries
Adeleke is far better than Oyetola and Aregbe combined.

Yeah! I was right. No one can safe this this one. He's as ignorant as they come.

Maybe states have a different market they purchase goods and services from than the Nigerian market. Inflation affects states resources too because states don't earn in dollars. Only FG does. So the subsidy money you're yapping on is already sucked up by the devalued naira

Lol... Most Nigerians are already jazzed beyond redemption. This one is a prime example. Or probably it's self delusion.

Stay far away. I can't help you.

E don dey happen. Naija is on the right path. I love how the FG gave the PDP governors close marking. grin

Soon the citizens will wake up and understand that the center alone is not responsible for good governance. I see in the very near future where the people will start asking their governors for accountability - LP ooo, APC ooo, PDP ooo. The FG might have just opened the eyes of people with this chess move. Put dem on the spotlight, Asiwaju baby! cool

Shebi, if dem say no more subsidy; fuel don cost, electricity no dey, hunger dey for land, dollar dey expensive, "wetin we come dey benefit from the government?" - na so e go start and people will start asking questions. The awakening that will lead to the needed revolution is here. State governors, it won't be business as usual from here.

This question by the FG is what you would expect the state chapters of the NLC and TUC to be asking. But dem just dey useless - all of them. How would the FG remove subsidy, increase FAAC, and you aren't asking for the barest minimum which is the minimum wage increment from the mannequins that call themselves governors?

Kukutenla:

What about Akwa Ibom that easily tops all those states in terms of development since 1999?
Oyo has been clearing pensions and gratuities owed by previous APC administration in the state same with Osun.
Besides, anyone with half a brain knows it's false logic to claim states have increased allocation when the naira was devalued by over 300% since May while the so-called allocation only increased by a measly 40%. Not to mention that the dollars denominated returns of same allocation is with the FG but the states are the problem according to you.
Stop deceiving yourself abeg

Why should state governments be limited to paying salaries and pension? That's all majority of them do anyways, and a large number of them still owe the workers and pensioners.

That said, I don't care if naira increased by 1000%. The bone of contention is that the usual money the FG use to pay fuel subsidy for the masses are now being allocated to the FAAC. What are these state governments using the fund to do? It's a simple question.

Before fuel subsidy removal, what were they using FAAC to do?

Post fuel subsidy removal, what have they used FAAC to do? They should give account. The people deserve it. Inflation or not, fuel subsidy monies has been diverted into the FAAC account - if the masses aren't enjoying subsidy again, at least the state governments should be able to account for their monthly allocation. For most of them, nothing has changed pre and post subsidy removal - they still owe workers and aren't doing anything to boost their economy.

Regards, Akwa Ibom, I don't know how much they generate or how well they are building their economy or attracting investments. Let's even assume Akwa Ibom is performing on par with Lagos, that leaves us with 6-7 states doing well out of 37 states. Now do you see the problem?

Osun and Oyo clearing pension is bare minimum. They are not on the levels I'm talking about.

As usual, they've turned this serious issue to PDP vs APC. They don't care so far they can type rubbish on nairaland threads to vent out their hatred for Tinubu and his government, because their failure was rejected at the polls.

Dolts. Don't start asking questions, abeg! Don't ask. You lots would leave your states to rots by your state governors then run to Kaduna, Kano, Rivers, Abuja, Lagos where the State government is working, then come online to bash the FG and even bash the government of your host states. Id!ots.

Inflation or not; Naira floating or not; Subsidy removal or not - What were these state governments doing before this administration? We've experienced massive wealth effect during Obasanjo's administration, what did these state governments do to increase/generate IGR, better the lives of their people, create jobs, attract foreign investments? During Yaradua, GEJ administration, how did they improve the lives their people? These are critical questions to ask. No be today they started getting FAAC. They've been receiving since 1999 - for 25 years! 25 foking years.

If they all worked hard like Lagos, Rivers, Abuja, Kaduna, Kano State governments over these years, we won't be exerting unnecessary pressure on a few states now. We could have had massive economy hubs spread throughout the country. Insecurity won't be worst like this. Chibuzor, Ade, and Yaro won't be migrating to Lagos to find jobs after schooling in Anambra, Osun, Jigawa because their states economy is thriving and they can easily find jobs there. Lagos won't be overcrowded. But yeah, let blame Tinubu for asking this critical questions.

Joe Ajaero dey voice say dem wan run am street.

Nigerians are only ready for the betterment of the country when they start pressuring their governors to be transparent and accountable. The governors receive massive security votes from the FG, even more during this current administration, after the subsidy removal. But everyone would rather face the FG while forgetting their shares from the usual fuel subsidy are now in the hands of their state governors.

For context, Tinubu government now pays 2-3 times more FAAC to the state and local governments compared to previous administrations. The increments are yields from the subsidy removal. So, why tf can't state governments increase their minimum wages?

How can we have 36 states and only 2-3 are working? Lol. Since everyone has the liberty to run to Lagos to hustle the daily bread, let's keep deceiving ourselves.

Gosh! We are only smart on paper!

Sparogatively, Emefiele is still better than Cardoso, even though they are all of the same bunch of clueless men. Cardoso has turned the CBN to a trial-test unit with his teial anx error policies.

Your brain is short of some screws. You not only attempted to whitewash Ewelele, you also attempted to equate him with Yemi Cardoso in terms of competence, delivery, and capacity.

Cardoso is only a few months on that seat and he's done far better than Emefielele could ever do as an 8-year CBN governor in 50 lifetimes.

Truth is that they are looking for every possible loophole to indict and punish him because of the cashless policy which he introduced for the good of Nigeria which the Powers that be felt was against their political interest.

He didn't steal alone, and yes he also stole for his personal gain. He was used by the cabals in Buhari's government to perpetrate economic robbery and sabotage.

If the nation is sane, Buhari and his cabals should be behind bars by now but in a country like ours, PMB is untouchable, except you want to set the country on fire. Efiemiele is the weakling and disposable among the group, who will pay for all their sins.
