The governor of Osun state, Ogbeni Aregbesola in a bid to further the endless screening of workers in Osun State is demanding for their BVN. Workers in Osun state who have been subjected to series of neck-breaking screening exercise since last year got a shocker this last week when the Ogbeni demanded for their BVN without explaining what he intends to do with it. Workers were instructed to get a print-out of their BVN and bio-data from their banks and submitted same to designated places. The BVN is personal and should be kept same. Banks in Osun are now making quick money as they are charging between N200 to N1000 for each print-out. It should be recalled that workers were subjected to five-stage rigorous screening in 2015 when they did bio-metric capturing and even asked to submit copies of their primary school certificates. Are these calculative attempts to frustrate the workers who are currently receiving half or quarter salary for the past 9 months out of the service? |
This is way too bad. The students were really mis-informed. Kindly visit http://www.nbte.gov.ng/ and download 2014 NBTE Directory of Accredited Programmes in Polytechnics, Technical and Vocational Institutions in Nigeria 17th Edition and see how many Federal/ state institutions currently have accreditation. That means all institutions in Nigeria will be razed? The school in question is listed as No. 92 in the NBTE Directory (pg Bleep) established in just 2012. The school passed resource inspection stage to be given interim accreditation ( IA). Though, the IA expired in 2014 but dt doesnt make it illegal. NBTE will never visit your school on yearly basis. they have their time table for regional visitation. These criminal students must face d full wrath of the law.

Enesi47:so sorry for replying u lately. ND means National Diploma and that is what u get after ur first 2 (full time) or 3 years (part time) @ polytechnics. ND qualifies you for your HND directly. OND= Ordinary National Diploma: This is what u obtain mostly in universities that run diploma course, usually lasted for 1 to 2 years. NO polytechnic takes it directly for HND becos it is not up to ND and even d university that issued it will not take it for direct entry. So OND holders have to go for Advanced Diploma programme before they can be admitted for HND. u can verify ds info anywhere. |
Osun State Government has technically sacked the doctors in its employ who have been on strike since September 28th 2015. The Chairman, Special Committee on Health, Dr. Simon Afolayan, announced at a press conference in Osogbo on Friday that the state considered that the striking doctors had resigned their appointments. He explained that the doctors had not been sacked because no letter of sack was issued to any of them but they ( striking doctors) were deemed to resign their appointments because of their refusal to work for more than six months. According to him, the doctors started their strike on April 2, 2015. However, members of the Osun State Association of Medical and Dental Officers under the Hospitals Management Board and Association of Resident Doctors at LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, Osogbo embarked on an indefinite strike on September 28, 2015 because of payment of half salaries and poor condition of service. Afolayan said, ” Doctors are parts of the civil service and by the civil service rule you cannot abandon your duty post for six months without reason and not face the consequences. If you do so, it is deemed that you have resigned your appointment. This rule has taken effect.” Afolayan stated that those who still wanted to work with the government had been given a fresh opportunity. He said the state could not afford to pay the doctors’ salaries in full because of the financial crisis facing the state and the nation. According to him, out of about 40,000 workforce in the state civil service, doctors working with the Osun State Hospitals Management Board are less were less than 100. He described the demands of the doctors as impossible, saying there would be anarchy in the state if the government decided to pay full salaries to doctors and continue to pay other civil servants half salaries. He said the state doctors did not sack any of the doctors but the doctors had decided to discontinue rendering their services by abandoning their duties for over six months. It will be recalled that Governor Rauf Aregbesola had in January threatened to implement the civil service rule against the doctors. The state government, after this, advertised the positions of the doctors and Afolayan stated that some doctors had applied for the vacant positions. source: http://www.nigerianeye.com/2016/02/osun-aregbesola-sacks-striking-doctors.html?m=1 |
