It's the beginning of the year and you are forgiven for all the fails and falls during the festive season, if you don't stand up this January and do something hard and stern for your body then your trespasses shall be visited. Stand and let's do it again, remember you have done it before and you can do it again. Check my signature for some new and good ways naija weight loss can and would work. It's something an oyibo man fear like mad but for hia o, na our ways (((hugs))) ... and actually the only way out except you are not in Naija |

MIND OVER MATTER (BODY) How to trick your mind into eating less and healthy 1. Eat what you want but not everything you want. Always tell yourself that you can have anything, food will always be here. 2. Imagine you have eaten a particular craving you have. 3. PAUSE (wait 10 minutes before eating it) 4. Substitute junks/unhealthy food with what looks like it (swap Coke for flavoured water, I do add Nutri C) 5. Go back in time (eat like a kid) 6. Drink a glass of water when you hungry and then wait ten minutes (sometimes hunger and thirst have the same pangs) 7. Plan your junk food (in your mealplan let the chocolate come after dinner, i.e. if you still feel like taking it after eating) 8. Create a top 10 list of distractions (e.g. brushing your teeth, a set of crunches or push ups) 9. Fool you eye e.g. use smaller plates (I use a small salad bowl) 10. Train your resistance muscle (do not give in to cravings so that you have a stronger will to resist next time) 11. Set your phone to send motivational quotes. 12. Often share whatever you are eating with someone else I hope this helps, you can include what else had helped you or can help us to lower our waistline |
Everyone's vacation again? Is it the cold? You actually need exercise to shake it off. This weather is the best to run, do HIIT, and all those sweat dripping videos, lose weight in this harmattan while it lasts |
Woke up hungry and overeating this morning, thank God it was breakfast. I still have the rest of the day to plan and control myself. On my 30 day walking challenge, I was to do 45 minutes power walking but in order to catch up I did extra 48 minutes with another 6 minutes step aerobics with Jenny Ford (she smiles to kill) and I ended up with over 100 minutes walking yesterday. DH was wondering if I was ever sick afterall. Thank God for good health. What are your plans for a workout today? Can you make a promise to yourself to be the best today? YOU CAN DO IT!!! ![]() |
modath:So sorry for missing in action, I had been sick o. Recuperating now, I had not worked out in a month. Now that I am able to, I am just learning to walk and do everything again, workout is so low impact too. I am presently walking with Leslie in a 30-day walking challenge, if you are interested you can join anytime you wish. Follow the link http://aegishot..com.ng/2015/12/30-day-walking-challenge-whos-in.html Modath, DOMS I had really missed that. I remembered when I first had this soreness I never knew it's something to be so craved later in life. |
modath:Everybody, stay in the vehicle!!! Congratulobia Modath, so happy you and baby are fine and doing well? I can see that tiger is back on track in you. modath: Bump.Yeeeeeeeeeeeee, congratulations oooo. Am so happy to hear this, what a good news in a new year. Happy/safe/fit 9 months. With all the construction work, you never tire for mene mene? ![]() |
Happy New Year all, I have been on a trip all in preparing for this year. I am doing well too. I have not worked out for sometimes now but doing everything to eat healthy too (trying my best). As much as I desired to do this 6 meals per day, I am not sure it is good for me, I have tried for almost a week now and all I get is bloating. Despite I am eating little at time, so... Mr R4R what advice do you have now? I even timed it, making it every 3 hours but ![]() Meal for today BF - on the road 3pm - 2 cups white rice + 4 slices of plantain + 1 drumstick + 2 tbs stew. D - If I am hungry I will eat, but if not good night. (Update later) Exercise: I have 7 more days to go in my 30-day fitness challenge, so I will continue tonight. |
Hi all, How is the holiday season affecting you guys' exercise and food routine?
Still sane |
Romeo4real: you should be eating about 4 medium meals a day - this should work out approx every 3hrs. This should be done consistently, with the meals being eaten at the same time every single day. This is important so you maintain a a specific level of blood glucose throughout the day. Skipping a meal is NOT an option; NO matter what.R4R I think am going to take this advice for the first time in 3 years. Digging through my early post here today, I found this there and seeing it again I think the Holy Spirit is telling me something, seriously (don't laugh o). Anyway, whatever it will cost, I need to drop from where I had always been on the scale. I am faithful with my workouts but I think my food is really bad, so ave been stagnant for as long as I could remember. |
Wishing you a very Merry Christmas. |
dmz: @Uzoo..from your initial post you're already doing 30-40 mins of ab work daily if that's not reducing the bulge/pooch, I don't think adding more workouts will make much difference. You run the risk of overworking your abs and doing it daily means it doesn't have much time to recover. Have you tried high intensity sprints instead of steady state jogging. (I had excellent results when I switched to this type of running especially on my tommy) Do you eat till you fill your stomach walls stretch? reducing your portion size might help. Maybe your diet could be responsible. You look good. Keep it upI agree with the food part. Try taking dinner early too at least 3 hours before bed. |
