My problem is that you're maybe the only chick on this thread that's not being insultive bout itI'll take that as a compliment (even if i dont understand why its a problem )I've got nothin but love for nigerian men in general (altho some of them can be really thick in the head!) but my dad, my brother and many of my friends are good nigerian men so i knw not all of them are as bad as people make out ![]() |
@ aysometin Just remembered d name of that oil, Its Secret Oil, used to cost me N60 cld be abit more now,,, very effective, completely natural like I said, u can mix it in your lotion or use it straight (u might need to by loads as d bottle is really tiny) ![]() |
NubianQ:Girl how is it that we have such similar tastes in so many things (reference to other threads as well) the albums on my ipod are seether, staind, creed, mettalica, 3 doors down, marilyn manson, enya, linkin park, meatloaf, papa roach and more, some classical (mozart esp), some indie, then very carefully selected nigerian music,,, LOL I love rock music so much i'm learning to play the electric guitar, (i just love guitar solos) my brother mistakenly switched ipods for a day (we bothhav d same model and colour) he had a look of confusion on his face when he returned it to me,,, ![]() |
cuz quite a number of them are immature and not ready for that kind of responsibilty (they can hardly take proper care of themselves) |
mine was less than an inch,,, u cldnt even get a proper hold of the strands copper turned out great, i'm light skinned so it blended well with my skin tone,,, HOT! too bad I have more hair than I knw what to do with, that hair style is def a keeper ![]() |
well i'm not talking about the obsessive ones ![]() |
iice:I cut my hair cut really low, dyed it copper and had it textured,,, my hair grows too darn fast so it was a pain to maintain a girl with Little or no hair makes a bold statement,,, plus u might enjoy it so much u wldnt want tohav o hav hair long, the freedom is amazing and ur face is fully emphasised (esp if u're well made up), u'll notice pple do double takes |
meltDfat:Do you mind there is a thread for ads |
iice:no body said obsessing about it is a requirement which girl would like to battle her man for rights to the mirror,,, def not attractive a guy who pays attention to detail, actually cares what he looks, smells or sounds like, has an education and good manners, is respectful blah blah blah (I'm repeating myself again) but thats the basic make up of a true metrohetro basically a straight guy who is man enough and secure enough to embrace his feminine side ![]() |
The Sly:thanx hon,,, ![]() but seriously tho, some people on here, for whatever reason seem to think that making an effort with your appearance automatically means u're gay,,, ![]() |
Spermdrops:LOL good point! |
Finally a guy who understands what i'm on about The Sly:Sly, I love u so much right now!!! ![]() |
@ aysometin I cld specify products but i dont knw if u'll find them in Nigeria,,, I did use vaseline intensive toning cream with AHA but i remember i cld no longer find it in the market, d only other one i can think of is black opal lotion with AHA,,, cant think of anymore right now but if i do I'll update the thread,,,, cant remember d name of the oil for the life of me but I'll ask around to see if anyone here can remember it. alternatively,,, try using clarins,,, its a bit pricey tho but ur wedding only comes once right? they have really good sunscreens and skin clarifying treatments with AHA. mind u dont get the skin lighteners tho, so u dont mess with ur natural complexion. there is a place that does facials at ojuelegba,,, cant give u an address tho cuz i've never been, my friend is always talking about it and i think it costs sumthin between N3000 - N6000 (cant swear by that tho). try askin around at the salons in that area, i hear its quite popular so it shd be pretty easy to find ![]() |
I believe that a metrosexual is basically a 21st Century guy who likes looking good,he spends time on how he dresses ,how he talks ,takes time to learn and smell good.I think people are prone to believe that metrosexuals are very rich but i beg to differ.Yes there are metrosexuals ''who'' can afford it go to a stylist to get dressing tips ,some can go and get a massage every month, some to get pedicures ,manicures and facials but it is a percentage who can afford that.

Well educated, secure, knows what he wants in his life. Believes in quality than quantity. Definitely, not gay, always want to make sure he is up to date in fashion, style, and usually the trend maker, open to new things as long it is viable! An urban straight male ranging in age from late teens to mid 30's who is: good looking, stylish, fashionable, trendy, cultured, & well groomed. A metro sexual is very conscious about his image and looks in public. A metro sexual is often associated with getting manicures, facials, & massages, as well as using "products" and shopping at nice clothing stores. However, metro sexuals don't necessarily engage in each of these activities. the metrosexual is not afraid to embrace his feminine side. Why "metrosexual"? The metro- (city) prefix indicates this man's purely urban lifestyle, while the -sexual suffix comes from "homosexual," meaning that this man, although he is usually straight, embodies the heightened aesthetic sense often associated with certain types of gay men.

@ aysometin wrt to skincare tips, u havnt said what state your skin is in and what your complexion is. Regardless of what your complexion is tho, u can use things with alpha hydroxy acids (AHA) if u hav sun damaged skin but no break outs and beta hydroxy acids (BHA) if u are prone to breakouts,,, AHA and BHA are exfoliants derived from fruit and milk sugars such as glycolic acid produced from sugar cane and lactic acid produced from milk, they have a gentle exfoliating action that allows the dead skin cells to fall off and exposing newer clearer skin cells to give the flawless look. Mind u have to use sunscreen with strength SPF 15 or more so sun damage does not re-occur. there is also a very good oil (can't remember d name) i used to buy it at yaba market. its in a tiny bottle, reddish liquid and used to be sold for N60 per bottle i used to by a whole pack of 12 for N600. when i remember the name, I'll update the thread,,, (or u can ask at the market, I'm sure someone would recognise it). anyways u can use it straight or mix it in your cream, it smells nice and helps increase the rate of skin cell renewal, also helps against blemishes and reduces sun damage, to give u that glow. Alternatively Bio-Oil is quite good, only started using it myself so i can't swear by it tho. it costs about £20 for d small bottle and i know its sold at one of those cosmetic stores at the palms. unfortunately i havnt lived in lagos for a while so i can't be much help with where 2 go for your spa treatments however i used to visit RUTHIES at Adeniyi Jones Avenue, Ikeja Lagos, they do facials and spa treatments as well as bridals don't knw what their services are like now but they used to be pretty good,,, alternatively there are loads of spa's in V/I, i know i saw alot of bill boards for them on my last visit,,, goodluck |
tyna1:that cabbage soup diet is naaassstttyyy,,,, ![]() did it for my cousins wedding,,, quite effective tho,,, but never again |
4 Him:i'm not going to exchange insults with u, i just dont play that game dont worry sha, i'll leave the thread for u,,, |
nobody says waxing makes u metro sexual oh if u want to go down that route, thats ur own wahala get an education, learn good etiquette, manners and finesse make an effort with the way u look get organised and clean up after urself respect peoples feelings and be polite , u're half way there |
Y'all are getting this all wrong A guy making an effort with his appearance doesnt mean weekly spa trips or wearing blouses or spending time in front of a mirror,,, he just wont let himself go and offend our sensibilities with nasty sights and smells anybody that thinks looking like u hvnt had a good wash in weeks is being manly,,, well i wish u all the best |
4 Him:name calling!https://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/mesg/emoticons7/23.gif that is precisly d reason i didnt want u addressing me (or my posts),,,,,, |
4 Him:not stopping u frm joining i'm just asking u not to address me,,, sheniqua:So a man who decides to take care of himself is displaying gay tendencies,,,, right i get u now like i said earlier be careful what u wish for, else u might get someone u'd be ashamed to be seen with,,, |
4 Him:Oga abeg I no talk to u oh,,, i was addrsssing som1 else pls stay out of this ![]() |
sheniqua:sorry for saying this, but what planet do u live on? how d hell will being in the same vicinity as a gay guy affect the reputation of a professional man can a gay man not be a professional man ![]() |
NaJa HaJe:My ex used to visit some posh spa in the countryside, somwhere, twas exclusively male and very very exclusive (if u know what i mean) that was his fav hideaway,,, i remeber when i saw the place, i was too jealous,,, that man knew how to take care of himself |
