Travel / Re: Cost Of A Nigeria International Passport by Hubbysluv: 11:19am On Jun 30, 2020
Good morning gurus in the house
Please I need help to clarify this
Part of the requirement for fresh passport application is evidence of Nigerian citizenship for parents( Please what can one use as evidence here)?

Also can one apply standard passport for minor(below 18yrs) I really do not understand this enhanced passport thing.
Help me clarify if we can choose one of them when making the application.

Your prompt response will be appreciated.

Thanks

Please will they interview adult dependent like(your spouse) or just the main applicant?

mimilyrics:
Note that some questions may be dependent on what information that you include on your application and your travel history.

- Name, Date of birth, Nationality.
- Where will you be studying?
- Course and resumption/end dates.
- How long is your course for?
- Why did you choose your school?
- Did you apply to other schools? (If yes, pls state the other schools and courses and say why you chose your current school over them)
- Why did you choose your course? (No generic answers pls. Have a clear, explainable positive impact that the course will give you. You can tie it to your personal and professional goals.)
-Why did you choose the UK? (Pls do not give a generic answer. Make your answers as personal as possible)
- Where do you plan to stay in UK? (If it's off campus, you can mention some of the options you've seen online and are considering. If it's on campus and your room hasn't been assigned, say so)
- How will you get from your accommodation to the university? (Know the best kinda transportation for you, know what it costs per month and for the year)
- Do you have any friends or family living in UK? (Yes with a brief explanation. No doesn't need an explanation)
- How much is the accommodation? (GBP xxxx PCM (Per Calendar Month) inclusive of bills)
- Have you paid for the accommodation? (No or yes with a brief explanation of your accommodation option to show that you've done your homework)
- How are you paying your fees? (Self funded, Sponsored by family (Parents), Home Govt, International Company/Organization)
- Why is XXXx sponsoring you? (Govt, international organization/Company) You can briefly mention how you heard about the sponsorship and your application process / What's your relationship with your sponsor (Parents)?

Thank you so much for this detailed explanation
I owe you one pot of delicious goat meat pepper soup and chilled Zobo grin
God bless you so much dear

mimilyrics:
After legally adopting the child or getting Parental Responsibility (PR) from the court, the following are in order:

You'd need a cover letter (along with the visa application) to explain why the adoption or PR is recent so that it is not seen as you trying to game the UK visa system.

After getting either of the above, you'd need pictures of you together at different times, your sister's death certificate (to buttress why you have responsibility of her daughter), her daughter's birth certificate (to prove that your sister was her biological mother), letters from her school and doctor confirming her details (year of enrolment, address,
age, name). The letters must be addressed to you or parents/legal guardian of *the child's name* and must state that she lives and has lived at *Your address* for *the number of years she's been registered with them. All evidence must prove that you have been the primary carer for the child for the past 7 years.

Hi Mimilyrics,

Please what kind of evidence are you talking about as I'm in the same shoes with her.
My late elder sister's daughter has stayed with me for 7years+ since she lost her mother and i intent travelling with her as I'm now like a mother to her and her father welcome the idea.
Apart from court order as her legal guidance, should i include her school fees receipts and pictures we took together? Please help me with ideas of documents i need for her visa application.
@mimilyrics

mimilyrics:
1. Yes, there is a place for filling the details of your children. You need their birth certificates as part of their visa applications (showing your name as a parent) if they will be applying as your dependants. See this link for a step by step pictorial guide to filling the tier 4 visa application form: https://www.nottingham.ac.uk/aglobaluniversity/documents/studywithus/visaimmigration/overseas-visa-application-form-guidance.pdf

2. If you want to add her to your kids, you need to have adoption papers or a court order that gives you responsibility for that child. You would also need to provide evidence that you have been responsible for that child.

Education / Re: What Course Can Someone With This WAEC Result Study? by Hubbysluv: 11:21am On Jun 25, 2020
With this result you can do
Any Engineering course and any Physical science course like(Chemistry, Geology)
You can also choose medical line like Pharmacy, Radiography, Medicine and surgery etc

So go with your passion, that's the most important thing.
Think of what you can study that you won't get stacked or feel bored along the way

Good luck

Renerd:
What can I study with this result.(pics attached below).

Actually, while in school I know what I was doing, I did take those subject for the purpose of studying medicine, because I love it so I purposely drop anything relating to engineering.

But after my secondary education, I had no opportunity to further my education ( being an orphan), therefore I took to hustling, and after some year, I'm now preparing to further my education. But I discovered that i cannot continue with medicine, due to the nature of my work, I won't be opportune to combine the stress of my job with the demands of studying medicine, so I am thinking of diverting.

But the problem involved is that, my result is only good for medicine, and can't be use for engineering, considering jamb requirements, therefore educationalist in the house, what course do you suggest I go for, with this result apart from medicine. (picture attached below)

Going to Bournemouth this September by Gods grace

Faireee:
Good morning, please anyone resuming Bournemouth University this September?
Travel / Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by Hubbysluv: 11:39am On Jun 19, 2020
Hi
I will be going with two kids and my husband as dependent and my course is 2years duration.
I believe the maintenance fee is for 9 months as stated in the UK website
So you are to have balance of your school fees + (your 9 months maintenance fee)+ your dependent maintenance fee(9months) i your account for 28 days including weekends before you print out for your visa application. It is advisable to maintain the balance for like 31 days though

Yimi4real:
Someone asked me a question and I am not sure. Please if one is going with dependents for a 2 year course, is she expected to have full fees plus maintenance for everyone or year 1 fees plus maintenance for everyone?

Update from my school. I believe most school will definitely choose blended learning approach for the first semester, this will not deter visa application unless one choose to learn from their home country. Hoping that our government will open boarder soon and the rest will be history.
Fingers crossed

Dear cool,

As the Vice-Chancellor, I and everyone at Bournemouth University are looking forward to welcoming you to BU in September.
I am excited about the new academic year and I am sure that you are looking forward to it too. We are as committed as ever to providing you with an enjoyable and safe BU student experience - and we can’t wait to get started.

We have spent the last few months working hard to make sure you will be able to enjoy your course, your accommodation and your life as a student when you join us in September. We are determined to offer you the best campus experience possible while keeping you safe at all times.
We are working on the detail of our plans, which will change as government guidance changes. That means we need to be flexible and adapt quickly to changing circumstances. We want to share as much with you as we can now and we will keep you updated as plans change.
Although you have already accepted your offer from BU, once more information is available you can still change your mind and explore other options.

We are looking forward to showing you that while your BU experience may be different to begin with, you will be part of our BU community. Firstly, and perhaps most importantly, our campuses will be open to welcome you from September.

Your course
Where possible, specialist facilities on campus will be accessible in a safe and co-ordinated way from September.
Learning will be supported online as a key part of all courses at the start of the academic year. This will include virtual classrooms where you’ll be able to interact further with your lecturers and get to know your classmates. We will be here to support you with learning in this new environment, and we’ll contact you again as soon as possible with more detail about the way your course will be delivered. We’ll also give you more information about sources of support with your learning and your options.
We hope to have a full programme of face-to-face sessions on campus for all courses by the start of the second semester, if government guidelines permit.

Your student experience
We are working hard to ensure our fantastic libraries, student support and some SportBU facilities will be up and running during your first semester. We are following government advice to make sure we create a safe campus by implementing physical distancing measures for all students and staff.
As well as our staff across BU, the Students’ Union at Bournemouth University (SUBU) are planning a wide range of activities and virtual events to help you join clubs and societies, find people who share the same interests as you, and settle into your new community.
You can find out more about all the events and opportunities available when you join us in your ‘Welcome to BU’ guide. This will be sent to you in August and you will have plenty of time to decide what clubs and societies you’d like to join and what activities you’d like to take up.

Your accommodation
If you haven’t already booked, you can visit www.bournemouth.ac.uk/accommodation to see information about types of accommodation available, the booking process and terms and conditions for each option.
Your new home in Bournemouth will be ready for you in September and we are working closely with our accommodation partners to ensure accommodation adheres to government guidance. We will contact you nearer the time with information about this.
I look forward to meeting you in September, in person or virtually, and to seeing you on campus as soon as possible.

Kind regards

Eromo10:

A message from our CEO

I wanted to share a personal message with everyone who is currently waiting for our visa centres to reopen around the world.

Many of you are feeling angry and frustrated that you can’t access our centres to retrieve your documents, progress your visa applications, or start new applications, and I totally understand why.

Many of you have been separated from friends and family since the pandemic started and it’s been an incredibly worrying time for everyone.

We are gradually beginning to reopen our visa centres now, but unless the one you need to access is confirmed as reopening soon, that won’t provide you with much comfort or reassurance. I want to get our locations open as quickly as it’s safe and legal for us to do so. Everyone wants to get back to ‘business as usual’, including me and the team at TLScontact.

But like many things linked to this virus, it’s sadly not as simple as throwing the doors open the day that restrictions are lifted and the local lockdown is removed. For us to reopen a visa centre we need to have met three conditions – firstly, we need local lockdown restrictions to be lifted, then we need permission to open from the local authorities in-country where the centre is located, and finally, we need approval from the government for whom we are processing the applications. In some cases, we may not yet be able to meet all three of these requirements, and therefore we are unable to
reopen. I’m genuinely sorry that this is the case for many of you.

I can assure you that I, and the team here at TLS, are doing all we can to accelerate the opening of
centres over the coming weeks, and will continue to do so until we’re fully open once more. We are also busy putting into place all the necessary precautions to ensure the safety of our customers and staff when we do reopen. We will post on social media and on our websites as soon as we meet the requirements for us to open in each individual country.

We look forward to welcoming you to our visa centres again very soon.

Simon Grant, Chief Executive Officer. TLScontact

BU gave me unconditional offer and ask me to get one more academic referee and pay my 2k pounds to secure my CAS

omopapa:
I think some people are confusing conditional offer with unconditional offer.

If the uni request you to pay a fee or submit any document before issuing you a CAS that’s conditional offer.

An unconditional offer wouldn’t request you to do anything.

Hi,
I don't know how your faculty do theirs. mine(M.Sc. Mental health nursing) send a portfolio template that contain different questions and i was asked to answer with reference to my experience in the health sector. I submitted with documentary evidence, letter from my previous employer, different training certificates i had, my resume, prior learning experience and other evidence that shows my experience. They requested the below information

A reference from a manager or equivalent that evidences the number of hours
worked and the activities carried out during that work. The reference must be on
headed paper and signed by line manager/equivalent, or an email from your line
manager’s (or equivalent) work email address
- Further information that outlines how you achieved these hours including the types
of activities undertaken in your role in preparation for studying nursing
- Attach a job description/role specification

Maybe you contact them for more details. They probably need you to show evidence or knowledge you have in the field like your past studies, designs, evidence of previous work experience or any documents that show you have background knowledge of what you want to go into

Cheers

hotboss:
Pls house. Those that applied to Bournemouth university, did you upload anything like portfolio?

God bless you
I really appreciate your help.
Thank you
mimilyrics:
If you're asked, your husband gave you the money; his employment earnings (using his bank statement) can be submitted to prove this if need be.

For your husband's application, you'll need evidence of genuine relationship: submit your marriage certificate, chats (not necessarily needed except you've spent any period over the past 2 years living apart), evidence of cohabitation i.e utility bills, joint bank statements, tenancy agreement(s), pictures (wedding, holidays etc.), medical registration documents and anything you can use to support your application.

If there is anything you feel isn't clear in your application, address it in a cover letter.

mimilyrics:
No. Once there are no conditions to your offer and you've paid the required deposit, you don't need to pay more money except you want to.
For the CAS to be issued, you'll be issued with a pre-CAS statement so you can verify and correct all information to be included on your CAS.

My husband will be my dependant, and he is the one sponsoring me. Will they ask me questions about the money in my account or how i was able to make such money?

Also do i need to include my husband business document or bank statement apart from the total money in my account when submitting his application because i am confuse or just our marriage certificate, chats, pictures etc.
Travel / Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by Hubbysluv: 1:43pm On Jun 04, 2020
My own is kinda different
My school gave me unconditional offer straight. They only requested i pay deposit and supply additional academic reference as one of my referee didn't respond.

Will they request additional money after paying initial deposit before they issue me CAS? Although they did not mention that.

mimilyrics:
CAS is usually processed out from 3 months before resumption.
If you pay your deposit and get an unconditional offer less than 3 months to your school's resumption , you'll get your CAS processed immediately payment is confirmed. CAS takes about 2-3 days after that for most schools.

If you pay your deposit and get an unconditional offer more than 3 months before your course, the school will able to process your CAS when it's 3 months or less to your course start date. The CAS process usually takes about 2-3 days for most schools.

Also, what will you do when you observe during your ward round shift with an experience colleague, you notice that he/she put the wrong dose of medication and you notify him/her about it, will you escalate what happen or keep quiet to avoid him/her losing the job?

Thanks a lot, I appreciate, please could you give me an instance of the challenging based questions asked?

Everybody's prayer should be to have a girl child
See, your girl child will NEVER forget you when you grow old
Most men are after money and possession, some of them forget their family when they make it.
Its so unfortunate but please, you people should take your father and care for him, if not that old man will die of depression /hBP

Ope88:
Please don't read and pass, also Pardon all my typo, I'm typing out of duress.

I am from a family of six, 3 girls, 1 boy including my parents.
I had a horrible childhood experience, My Mum (no thanks to her) was something I can't quantify, I can't start writing every of the things she did and I can't say If the religion she practiced contributed largely to the devilish attitude she put up while growing up.

My mum has no good record anywhere, in the church, with the neighbours, with her siblings, we the children, her in laws and even at work, She was always at war with people, if she dreams that someone was trying to attack her in the dream, if she sees the person the following day, she was ready to attack the person.

Also, she would curse her children at any slightest provocation and leave only my brother out(last born and spoilt), She doesn't have any good relationship with her siblings and won't allow my dad visit his family member, I remembered them (Mum and dad) always saying this (don't be unequally yoked together with unbelievers). To them anyone who isn't a Christian (deeper life) is not supposed to be associated with.. My dad on countless occasion will call his mum a witch just because she was a Muslim and one of the oloyes of allasalatu(Muslims will understand this) and had nothing to do with his family members.

This went on and on like this until my elder sister moved out of the house and in the process of trying to find her feet, she got pregnant and my mom practically tormented her life, she later got married to the man, and for that act alone, she's always at logger heads with my sister and her husband..

Later, I got married and then my younger sister followed suit, leaving my dad, herself and my younger brother (whom I have disowned).

Ever since the three of us got happily married, and left the home, my dad slipped into severe depression. Although he has been depressed given lots of things he encountered, job loss, no social interaction, unforgiveness amongst others, it became severe when all his female children left, then from severe depressgion, he started having mental issues, he would wake up and leave the house talking to himself, or start preaching and going out of point with anyone he finds on the street, sometimes he would leave and come home at night, my younger brother who is supposed to comfort and help him, treats him with disdain, my mum who is supposed to check mate his excesses would leave him to his folly and now he has started standing up to her and everyone else in the house..

At 26, he doesn't know his bearing and obviously we have been seeing signs of him wanting to inherit the houses my father built in the same compound.. (and we have noticed that my mum has been making him understand that every of the property belongs to him).

The last straw which broke the camel's back happened one week ago, my elder sister ( who is 9 year older than him) took advantage of the lockdown and visited my father, he is usually exited when we are around him whc helps his severe moodiness. There and then an argument broke out between my sister and my brother, she asked why my brother was insulting our mum for an action that happened in the compound, he beat my sister up and her three children and boasted that, the rest of us (my sister and I) dare not do anything and that by the way we must stop coming to the house, that if he sees any of us He will beat us up, My mum who was supposed to resolve the matter started blaming my sister, asking her why she always love to come visiting, that she's supposed to be in her husband's house or father in laws place and immediately called her hubby to come pick her.

Its been one week my sister left for her house, my daddy who enjoyed her company when she was present started misbehaving again at home. He started roaming, he started cursing everyone.

The reason I'm writing is this, my dad is no where to be found, he left the house yesterday Friday 15th May 2020 and was last seen in ITAMAGA IKORODU, we keep trying his number but he is not picking and now his number is switched off, I'm sure he is still wandering about.

My sisters and I have decided that even when he is found(by God's grace) we do not what him to go back living with my mum and brother.

What other alternatives do we have to care for him, as his own siblings are not happy with him either for abandoning them and their mum (his own mum),, when they needed him the most..

I AM SO SORRY FOR THE LONG POST.. PLEASE HELP ME.

Modified..... My dad has been found today Sunday, 17th May 2020, my sweet mother (elder sister) found her, she has been on her feet since he went missing, luckily he was found but in a terrible state, I saw him via video calls and I wept, he can't recognize even my sister again, and just muttering some words we don't understand, he closes his eyes while saying this and asked everyone to go and leave him, he looks so faint and weak and would not leave where he his...My sister has called his siblings and she's waiting for the next line of ACTION from them.

I'll keep updating the house with reports from our end..

Yes I was interviewed early January for M.Sc. Mental Health Nursing
Two people a guy and a lady. The interview is basically on your experience in the care sector and knowledge of the profession you want to go into.
Why did you want to study this course and a little about my background experience in healthcare
Why Oxford Brookes Uni
What are your strength and weakness
The guy asked me scenario based question based on challenging behaviour
They also ask me skills i must possess as a nurse

I was given conditional offer but from my research Oxford seems expensive for me so i didn't take the offer.

Good luck

Please has anyone here done nursing interview with Oxford Brookes university? How was it and the likely questions?

Thanks so much,
I really appreciate

Phenmeson:

The Uni is rank top 100 in UK.
Average Accommodation for family of 4 means you need to get at least 2bedroom flat from £750-900.additional monthly bills will cost you at least £300 but you can get council tax discount as a student. For the Transportation, you can commute on bus for £60 monthly. But if you are to travel to London by Train, your ticket will cost you £60 one way but you can get a cheaper ticket if you travel when is not busy or you buy your ticket in advance. For stores, you can visit Pakistan stores to get few of your African item's but if you want more 9ja foodstuffs, is advisable you travel on Weekend to Peckham, Croydon e.t.c to buy Yur bulk purchase. On train service, is almost 2h 30mins to London. Bournemouth is a nice area, you have seaside around rhere. Gud luck

But the deadline for payment to secure your admission is still the same.
This is frustrating and confusing.

hosey:

You had better have patient till July like how so many people in this forum have said.

By July, all schools and UK government will have given clear decision.

All schools are trying hard to lure students to pay deposit to hook them. Be in control and do not be dependent on them.

If you pay your deposit and do not come, your money has gone with no refund.

This is a mind game.
