Ingrate! So he should have continued to be giving Tinubu Ogun people's money monthly and then allow Tinubu's stooge to be removing money from Ogun's IGR and be sending it to Tinubu in Lagos every month abi? Or u think Tinubu is father xmas; he's doing all he's doing because he loves d people of Ogun? If u know how much Tinubu gets from Oyo and Osun's IGR monthly, u will weep for d people of those States...he fell out with Fayemi because of dis same issue. fsho: At this point, we should worry less about how AAC is going to protect their votes on that day. I hear you and the issue you have raised is valid.
Coming together has several implications:
There will be serious compromises within that coalition and this may defeat the initial intent of the AAC party. As you can image, the coalition will still comprise these greedy people. Taking power and not being able to make some strategic decisions simply because you have an agreement/commitment may not be that smart after all. However, I understand that there could be reasonable compromises also.
We need someone to take this country from the past leaders and really set it on the path of greatness. With all due respect to other younger candidates, Sowore is the only one who has generated campaign funds publicly and transparently. No one knows how Moghalu, Oby and Durotoye are being funded. I'm sure you know what that implies.
With regards to jingles and rural reach, I think Sowore has done his possible best to sensitize the youths. If he does not win, it's because we are not yet ready for a new Nigeria. Nevertheless he has traveled a lot but couldn't physically cover all locations across the country. If we mean business, we the youths can do the rest for him. This is what is currently lacking -- 100% support from the youths that he is fighting for. Even some of our celebs behave as if they are not affected by the current state of affairs.
I mean if your loved one ( husband, wife, relative or someone close to you) died from herdsmen attack, boko haram, and other sorts of terrorist machinations, would you even endorse Buhari for anything again (seeing how his government has handled the issues? If you were from Yola state (where Atiku is from) knowing their poverty level with all his billions, would you even think of Atiku? These guys don't deserve anymore of Nigeria.
All in all, it is an uphill task but a necessary one if we are to regain our dignity as a people. Sowore is the only way and I pray its not too late before some of us realize it. Leave the logistics to the AAC team and help as much as you can (I am doing that right now by writing on these issues, so that we the youths can move beyond superficiality of ideas and strive for better ideals for our country). Let's hope we get it right this time around...in a country where tribal and financial factors play key roles in who supports who and who becomes what, may God help us all. |

fsho: I am getting tired of leaving comments. What do you mean by structure? If those mega parties had structures, why do they rig elections? why do they send touts to beat people up at polling units?
A structure is set to guarantee a systematic electioneering. What we have in Nigeria are outlets for bribing and intimidation (unless this is what you were referring to).
I implore you to go on youtube and watch his conversations if reading about him is not convincing enough. If you are a practical person, then you will fully grasp what the man's mission & vision is and what drives him. Hopefully, he is included in the forthcoming presidential debate. That's what i am telling u...u can't manipulate election outcomes in places that u do not have structure...imagine APC rigging in Abia State or PDP rigging in Katsina...as for Sowore, who is going to protect his votes. Pls note: I am not in anyway against him...i have read alot about him...he sounds and looks promising... but my brother, how many Nigerians knows Sowore...how many people in the d largely populated rural areas in Kastsina, Bauchi and Kano sabi am? My village in ogun has a voting strength of about 5000 ...but has he reached out to them? And to make matters worse...instead of those with like minds come together to form a common-front, everyone of them wants to become President...therefore dividing d votes of those who are tired of status-quo...everyone of them is either greedy or selfish...so until they all come together, it will difficult for any of them to make headway. Me i will even suggest they flock d States and National Assemblies to change all those laws that are drawing us back and create laws that will make it easier for people to become President. I hope he wins..but d truth must be told...it will be an uphill task. |

moshoodn: Glad you did a little digging. Dig some more., please.
There's still more to find..
Humberjade, have you listened to his manifesto compared to the other older aspirants? Even Moghalu and Hashim compared to the older aspirants?
Every one is entitled to his right to vote whomever rocks his/her boat. However, a question, a fundamental one should be - Who's in the interest of Nigeria?
Buhari has nothing next to a manifesto. Same with Abubakar.. We should be swayed by ideas and not political or ethnic affiliations like most Nigerians (Not necessarily you).
How long will it continue? We keep waiting every four years to make changes and other countries keep leaving us in the dust. My brother, i am not in anyway against Sowore...but what i am saying is that with d way our politics is in Nigeria, without a solid structure, no one can become President...for u to get thru to d class of people who form d chunk of voters in Nigeria, it is either thru massive jingles thru the major media outfits that reaches d remotest parts of d country (NTA and Radio Nigeria; which are hyper-expensive)...another way to get to them is for one to traverse d country...can he afford it? Take for example, we have over 230 wards in Ogun...but when he came, i doubt if he was able visit 5 of those...in ur own village, how many people sabi Swore? tell me, how wld such a person win? I have read his manifesto and i love it...but we would only be deceiving ourselves if we think he's going to even get 2 million votes with what he's done so far...winning an election in Ngeria is far beyond that |

Read more on Sowore... He's not just coming from nowhere.. Oh because he owns a media organisation and followed MKO during his time or what...oh wait, he's also an activist...is that enough to make those i mentioned know him? A politician without structure can't win in Nigeria...that's d fact |

It is so unfortunate that reaching out to just those on the social media and a fragment of those on the street don't win elections in Nigeria...he needs to reach out to those in the rural areas...the artisans...market women...motor park boys (unfortunately, these ones deal with money) but does he have the resources to reach out to them?
He's taken a bold step now...and I applaud him for that...but he doesn't have what it takes for now...i may be wrong though, but nobody in our contemporary world just came out of nowhere to become President on his 1st attempt at political office without climbing d political or public service ladder...take Justin Trudeau and Macron as examples... maybe 2023; who knows. |

AreaFada2: In theory we can. But like every other aspect of life, we do not fund research purposefully to achieve self-sufficiency in any given sphere. So we seek the easy (but often expensive way) out: importation.
You basically have to follow FOUR key steps aniti-venom (AV) in production: extract anti-venom, inject very minute amount into chosen domestic animals, extract the plasma/purity to removes microbes/viruses and other impurities with product quality control AND officially formulate the product for the market/use.
Of course each of the FOUR steps involve several things in it. Of which from step three to four pre-clinical & clinical trials are CRUCIAL to assess efficacy, safety/side effects and viability over time. For example a storage process that will not render the AV inefficient has to be devised considering that rural areas where they are MOST may not have stable electricity or electricity at all. Antivenom (a protein) is very susceptible to heat.
In the West, monoclonal anti-bodies are made in university labs. Undergraduate stuff. Any life science or medical student worth his salt will have done same or at least tried at undergrad level. So if employed in Biotech company later, the whole anti-body process won't come as a surprise, albeit in industrial scale. May God help us in this country...i know we will get it right someday...but in d meantime, i expect varsities who have d capability to finance such projects like Covenant should pursue it....since our public varsities are just too stagnant and underfunded to do so. |

AreaFada2: You be real werey. What is your buttocks doing on the ground in the bush or road?
Truly snakebite in 9ja is just luck to survive it, if it injected its venom fully. Just hope it's not the most venomous snakes like mamba, viper or cobra.
Farmers in rural areas are most at risk. Exactly areas where medical facilities are few, poorly equipped or non-existent.
Australia with so many venomous snakes like Inland Taipan (world's most venomous) have done a good job producing anti-venom.
Nigeria should by now have much expertise considering high rate of bites in farming communities, especially areas like Gombe, Plateau, Bauchi, Taraba, Borno, Adamawa and other places. Especially for carpet viper that bites the most in the area, especially during raining season, haarvest and flooding periods.
We still import Echitab anti-venom from Costa Rica and questionable/poor quality ones from India after all these years.
We export live snakes only to get expensive anti-venom back. Like we cheaply export crude oil and get refined petrol, kerosene, jet fuel etc back at expensive rates. Na wa for 9ja o. Imagine a farmer doing d no2 in d bush or taking a nap after a hectic session on his farm...u can't be too sure u know... It is sad that we give a lot and take crumbs back from these countries....but my question is, can't we produce them locally? At least our forefathers who were mostly farmers must have survived these bites with some local anti-venom |
