NFF Target Jordon Ibe Impressed Against Chelsea - Bournemouth Coach
Bournemouth coach Eddie Howe was satisfied with the performance of Jordon Ibe in his side's narrow 2-1 loss to Chelsea in the quarterfinal of the League Cup on Wednesday night.

The Cherries were forced to make a substitution as early as the 17th minute when Ibe replaced the injured Jermain Defoe, and they were some positives from the former Liverpool starlet, with the highlight of his performance being the assist he provided for the equalizer scored by Gosling on 90 minutes.

''I think our squad is very well balanced and the players that came in impressed. We know the players that we can rely on and tonight’s performance will lift them and it will lift us,'' Howe told Bournemouth's official website.

''Jordon [Ibe] played more centrally today. It was a bit of a risk as he hasn’t done that much for us, but he showed his ability to find space and cause problems, with his pace a real threat.''

Jordon Ibe, 22, made his 20th appearance of the season against Chelsea, and has clocked up 1,058 minutes in total.

The former England youth international was approached by ex-Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh to play for Nigeria two years ago but his answer was negative as at that time.

In 2010/2011 season, Odenwingie scored 15 goals with 9 assists and won EPL player of month two times, i say two times but he was not even considered for CAF award. Why? if it is not all about winning trophies but individual performance.


That same season Yaya Toure scored only 10 goals with just 7 assists yet he was crowned the best player in Africa, why?

To add salt to injury,the runner up Seydou Keita scored only 6 goals with 4 assists. what is the criteria used?

Adrew Ayew came 3rd and he managed to score 13 goals with 6 assists. Why was he nominated but Peter Odenwingie ignored?

I think it's time for Oyekwuru to have tete discussion with his coach on his preferred position cos the man always criticising him anytime he played as CF not as a winger.

Yes the coach was a little bit nasty may be that was his style,remember Mourinho does it too by criticising his players openly.

Oyekwuru should not be let down but continue working hard to improve on his shortcomings and i don't think the coach hate him cos we have quite number of Nigerians who have played under the same coach.

Watch out for Josh Maja, this is one player who dosent get so much hype in England but he's a good prospect, scored a brace in preseason before he got injured which gave a chance to Lewis grabban who is not it altall, else he would have been Sunderlands top man. he's back from injury scored a good goal last match. Most importantly he has the physicality to mix it with the big boys despite his small frame, he's ours no battle with England, one of those players who's gonna be a big shot in a few years. He's a Defoe esque kinda player very strong to.

Super Eagles assistant coach, Alloy Agu has assured that the team will not lack quality goalkeeping at the 2018 FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia.

Agu was speaking against the background of insinuations that Super Eagles Achilles heels at the World Cup will be the man between the sticks. This is just as Vincent Enyeama’s come back to the team remains a subject of speculations. He is regarded as the country’s most experienced goalkeeper.
But Agu who manned the post for the Super Eagles at the 1990 Africa Cup of Nations said Nigerians do not need to lose any sleep as the goal tenders currently in the Eagles camp are equal to the task if Enyeama is not available.
