Were you granted the visa? Whats the outcome c00la: Get ready to spend money here before the Job-Seeker Visa application is submitted: - 3 months Portugal minimum wage in a Bank account per person (€760.00 per month x 3) - Medical Travel Insurance (MTI) for 1 year @ around 32K (I used AIICO) - Police Character Report @25K official from Possap website (I am yet to do this) - Authentication of Educational Certificates and other documents @ N600 at MoE and N300 at MFA per document. Add the cost of travelling and staying in Abuja for 2 few days. I spent around 25K in total for all the documents. - Airline Booking (Only Qatar and Ethiopian Airlines allowed to book-on-hold that you can print). If you don't know how to do it or have access to a printer, you have to pay someone to do it for you. - If you don't have access to a scanner, (colour) printer and/or don't have skills to convert digital documents to png/jpg/pdf, then merge them, then reduce the sizes to fit the requirements, etc. you have to pay someone to do it. Then upload to the Portugal Foreign Affairs website and fill the form. In short, if you are Technology-challenged, be prepared to spend money. - Pay for Accommodation for at least 20 days via AirBnB or any such service. (This is what I know happens in Brazil. I hope the Portugal Embassy in Nigeria will also accept AirBnB). We saw some AirBnB homes for 1,600 euros for a month in Lisbon. The Booking is part of what is submitted in the Visa application.
After Job-Seeker Visa approval: - Air ticket to PT - Return Ticket to Nigeria (the fully refundable one that is more expensive) - Accommodation in PT after your AirBnB expires
After going through all the above, my family decided to just get a Migration Consultant in PT to do all the work for us. It is expensive. All our documents/letters/statements are scanned and in PDF form. They will go through our papers and advise us. They will submit on our behalf and we will wait for our visit to the Embassy. We are also getting their House hunting Service so that we can rent a house for a minimum of 6 months to 1 year. If the Embassy denies us, their Lawyer will fight for us.
Since I know the next question is "How much?" The Migration Service alone is 800 Euros per person. Children are half that price. It is expensive.
Next question: "Name of Migration Consultant"... If you read one of my previous posts, I shared a link to Migration Tuesdays by Expats Portugal on Youtube. I have been watching the weekly Show for over 1 year now. The Migration Consultant Gilda Pereira's company Ei! is the one we are using. https://eimigrante.pt/en/ |

YeyeBoyfriend: I applied for a visiting visa, which I stated in my previous post. VFS doesn’t take job seekers application I went with
1: invitation letter 2: police character 3: traveling insurance 4: flight itinerary (reservation) 5: copies of previous visas and copies of valid and expired passports data-pages all in color printings/photocopies Good. I am sure this will be helpful for applicants. did anyone confirm if it was possible to get resident permit via sef while on a tourist visa? Someone mentioned it. What are the stakes? |

cc: @Noworries11 Dumba: Hi all, please I need advice on next steps. A friend suggested this forum would be helpful.
My mom applied for a B2 visa and was recently denied under 214b. Thing is she has sufficient ties as my dad and siblings are in Nigeria, she can’t just leave them. Plus she’s not even interested in moving to the US just visiting, but she didn’t even have the opportunity to say that. I’m a permanent resident and I recently gave birth; I really need her here. We are thinking of applying again right away (I’m pretty confident I can get an early next year date as I wake & sleep on traveldocs page), but don’t how successful it would be if nothing has changed.
Questions she was asked - Why are you visiting the US? I’m going to the US to visit and spend some time with my eldest daughter and her family. I hope to spend the holidays with them and meet my grandson - How long has your daughter been in the US? Four years - Have you been to the US before? No, I have not - Have you been to other countries? No, I have not - What do you do for a living? I manage/run a retail shop where I sell food items, gift items, beddings…
That’s all she was asked before getting the denial slip. Can anyone provide insight into why she was possibly denied? Is it the travel history or her job or maybe even me being here for four years? I came on an F1 visa. Or Should she have specifically mentioned me giving birth? (I learnt that doesn’t even matter anymore as they see omugwo as trying to work). |

even with all the documents, they still reject. I talked about psycological reasons and mood. Very key at decision time damkanlinsin: You are right sir. But does who reapply do they provide more additional documents to show they are capable. Like someone told me he said when you want to apply for visa try to hold back one documents and provide about 85% to show them you will come back and once you are rejected reapply by adding those documents you hold back to prove more reason why you will be coming back.
I just think everyone is trying not too sure I always advise people to submit during the week, mon, tues, wed. You know these people also have a visa quota , they are allowed. |

In cases for people here who appealed nko? as we have seen by their post, some get another rejection again even after appealing. damkanlinsin: I just feel whenever you apply and they reject you they want you to reapply. If you don’t reapply they believe your documents are fake that why you are scared to reapply. Just use same documents and let your story be same thing. I think the day of submission, mood of visa officer, and season matters for applications . My opinion tho. |

Its her first time and she has only travelled to the UK once (early this year) Elders what is her chances and what should we prepare her own? I mean, Likely questions to be asked and appropriate answers. Many thanks secondly, if you have been following this place, you may have been acquainted with some questions. People post their transcript here occassionaly. Above all, it is important she remembers what is filled on the forms, and also show confidence. There is no special treatment for older people , Please take note. She should be well prepared. All the best. |

My brother if they refuse you. Reaply again and again and again. Their father. They will get tire and give you the visa. I applied Germany and they refuse me. And I keep applying again. To France and I got them on balls. |

There is something i had always wanted to say here just for the benefit of others. Maintaining a very solid portfolio is a key factor to having successful visa applications. This is what i have successfully been able to build over the last years. It would interest you readers to know, that for all my South African Visa applications, i had little or less monies in my bank accounts. The last one, i didnt have a penny in my naira account. The 2nd was like 300,400k. This is to tell you that strong profile and documentation matters. I hope someone is able to get the message from this post and take one or two lessons for their future applications. It is not usually about the millions, but your genuiness and ability to prove that you are a legit traveler.
Attach enough credentials and documents to back your applications.
I wish you all the best. |

Long term visa. Use regular route on vfs The evisa function mostly for short term applicants. You are advised to seek further clarifications from Vfs. Advans: Am applying for one year Post Doc in S/A. I learnt I have to choose the Visitor's Visa section 11(1)B but this option is not available in the eVisa application when I clicked the dropdown list. The only one available is Visitor's Visa section 11(1)A which is for visitors spending 3 months or less. Dear Nairalanders, please I would appreciate your urgent assistance here. Thanks |

Reason why many are usually not confident to ask questions, when it involves an agent. Levels1: you are 💯% valid They go through the back door. It is either their family member or friend. This is not to say that there are not genuine instances, however many are playing the character, you just got to understand the story-line Thanks broddy! |
