The questions are bettered answered by the airline.
MadeMan01:
Seasons Greeting House;
Just asking, does one need a transit visa for Morocco if flying with Royal Maroc Air from Lagos to Portugal. If yes, how does one go about getting it?
However, you do not need a tr visa if your stay in less than 24hrs.You are allowed to stay within the airport territory for your connecting flights
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by hunee: 6:26pm On Dec 25, 2023
You are very corrrect on the flight. It so cheap to fly from that region to the UK
Soraco57:
first time i stay 4 days, second trip 5 days, third trip 8 days, forth trip 10 days last visit 5 days, i fly to UK from europe, ticket so cheap i do exit back to my country of residence Lithuania.

residency ke, no, i never apply for any category except visit visa
Merry Christmas House!
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by hunee:
My first international trip was 2018, before covid. Just for the records, i spoke about need for portfolio and proper documentations because it is important going forward. Even with the advent of electronic visas, who says it now easier? On this platform, someone has said they applied 3/4times for evisas and got rejected. It is of note and key interest to understand that all documents is not document, applying for visas is a strategic process and requires months or maybe years of proper planning, because in the end, a 2mins interview or assessment can determine your fate.
Graceness777:
Better thank God for evisa, after the Covid 19 SA visa became more difficult to obtain
I keep submitting. And there was nothing wrong with this documents
I made sure I had a steady amount of same salary going into my account every months
. But those sticker visa officer are not just ready to give a first timer visa
Until they started this evisa . I submitted the same document and in less than 10days got my visa.

Despite my travel history ooo
Tentatively, we should look at the grey areas for visa applications, where they usually spot on for approvals.
1. Your home times (Family, Investments, Mortgage, Properties)
2. Economic situation in your country at a particular time ( Recession, Unfavorable government policies)
3. Discrepancies in names, informations about you ( You dont want to have shalewa on your passport and have shade on your document) Everything must align.
4. Your finance , inflow and outflow over a period of 3/6months. Not proof of fund some people do at the dead hour ( They know about it)
5. Your letters ( Cover, introduction) You must show genuine intent to visit a country by drafting a convincing letter
6. Applying for the right visa category ( Tourist, Business, Visit, Medical have classifications, be sure of what you are applying for)
7. Supporting documents are evidences to show you have good standing and be can traced. Anything that concerns you is a support document( House rent Agreement, anything !)
8. Finally, if you are asked to fill a form with blue pen , use blue pen. Read informations carefully, something alot of you actually do not do, you are always in a haste, and we see that display here too.

Above all, You must understand that carrying out research about where you intend to visit will also aid your application on the long run. Visa officers are not magicians, they are trained to read people. So, present your applications like you are attending a job interview, it is a serious business applying for visas.

Thank you.
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by hunee: 11:36pm On Dec 24, 2023
Everyone need have a portfolio for themselves. Those who claim to always get visas by their own thoughts, do not know some people have applied 7/8 times before they got it. I have never been rejected a south african visa, i applied 4 times, and i was issued all. Prior to this time,i have built a solid travel portfolio which is one of the things visas officers always like to see. No one wants to issue a visa or give a job to new comer, its just normal logic. Atleast, visit cotonou, go to ghana, visit all these neighbouring countries, have that exposure and the experience which also helps you to shape and draft a convincing letter of intent or introduction letter.
Graceness777:
The truth is some visa officer are just something else
Especially South Africa visa officer they do as they want
It’s a sticker visa it’s only normal they issue 3month then six month
But no they believe and no the power is in their hands hence the issue whatever they like
To anyone struggling to get one country visa or the other
Don’t give up no matter how hard
And believe one day you shall have victory
I have applied for the sticker visa
7times
But because I am a first timer they kept denying me over plans over again
Until this year when I got my first evisa
And then this sticker one
So please donot give up
Especially when God has not given ip on you!.
Just to motivate someone
Exposure, experience,travel profile is key.
If you are a business person, register your business with cac, get your house in order. Travel is documentation.
I wish everyone luck.

TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by hunee: 9:00pm On Dec 24, 2023
True. I requested 3 month and i showed evidences for the need , because i was a frequent traveler and it was granted on evisa dha portal
Sojeezy247:
Brother I'm a frequent traveler, this new development started November, they started pegging visa to 8 weeks for sticker visas,I not sure for evisa, but if I get my stats right, they only give what you requested for I'm currently in SA,so I'm thinking it is a new development asking from people we came together,Grace also said something similar about it 3 weeks ago.
However, if you do not fall into that category, dont bother requeesting, unless you are lucky, a rejection is likely.
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by hunee: 6:00pm On Dec 24, 2023
My second SA e visa was 90days, because i was a frequent traveler
Sojeezy247:
It means you should enter between 19th to 29th and at point of entrance they will stamp in for the days specified

They Don't give 90 days again.Max is 8 weeks
There are levels to this things, when you travel more, you get what others dont get.

Best advise
AmeliaT:
Congratulations to him. That was lucky. However, he needs to report it immediately without any fear.

1. Best case is they’ll tell him not to worry and to continue as is.

2. Worst case is they’ll ask him to submit his passport and it will be cancelled from March 2024. Which is the original time he paid for and that’s fine. However, by letting them know the truth, it’s established his credibility and also shown him not to be a flight risk so for his next renewal, as long as circumstances haven’t changed, he should be fine to get it.

Please encourage him to fess up. He’s got absolutely nothing to lose and it’s better safe than sorry. It’ll be fine!

Ok dear, when you receive, do let us know. tc
Graceness777:
Yeah would have done that but there is no specific location written on the platform of where to pick up …all customer care are on break and not picking up
….just like @hunee said I would just have to be patient and wait for the estimated delivery date which is on Thursday. Although it means I have to reschedule my ticket again
Thank you so much
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by hunee: 4:35pm On Dec 24, 2023
Hi, I have 3 previous evisas and 1 sticker. so i can tell you for sure, evisa is time tagged. 19 - 29 , no extensions. Go and come back. Inbetween, when did you apply and when did you get an approval. Kindly share us your timeline and documents submitted.
iggideon:
Hello @Hunee, Afrikankel and others,
Please I have been issued South African Evisa which states that validate date as 19th Jan and Expiry date as 29h January through DHA direct.

Since SA tourist visa is usually 90days, does it mean I can come in between 19th and 29th January then stay for not more than 90days or I was just given 10days visa to come and leave within that 19th and 29th January?
goodevening.
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by hunee:
Confirm with your ticketing agent or the airline if you can transit and join the flight back by connection time. Do this from your end.
You may need an angola visa, however i am not sure of the stakes.
vozkini:
16hours or so
I could recall when i was arriving back to Johannesburg for the third time and had to transit through lusaka, zambia, they allowed us pass connecting route without a transit, though the lay over was 2hrs. But 16hrs is a long time, so ask if there's a waiver to enter or you need a visa.

You can manage in the transit section or contact the airline to provision. I understand some airlines like ethopia and kenya airways do this. You have kids, they should see to it.
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by hunee: 10:47pm On Dec 23, 2023
It is a long lay over. The airline should make provision for hotel if you request, contact them.
vozkini:
16hours or so
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by hunee: 10:29pm On Dec 23, 2023
how many hrs is it?
vozkini:
@hunee and others. Anyone with ideas on how to cope with TAAG airline long lay over. That's the only airline I have being able to get seat for 4 and baby at affordable price. But their layover time is scary. Do they have hotel inside the airport?
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by hunee: 9:10pm On Dec 23, 2023
Sojeezy247:
You can pick up yourself, but you need to reach out to the customer care number to tell you where their drop off location or sorting location is or go to the site and change delivery address to DHL center close to you
How can she pick a document that has been parcelled and it is in process of dispatch?

Grace you have to be patient ok. You waited for months. So let dhl do their work.

You have a tracking id, follow it through online.
Dhl does not waste time.

All of you , no one has answered my questions.

I will rephrase.

For Job seeker visa.

what is the process for gathering documents and applying?
From Stage 1 to appointment, someone should post a draft and attach link.

Everyone seem not to have a clear picture of how this works.

bros, call the embassy for these kind of things. You still need a confirmation from the embassy even if someone says otherwise. so do the needful by calling and get back to us.
DrHippocampus:
Hi everyone. Good evening.

My visa application was completed sometime in May 2023, and I got at appointment for February 2024. I read somewhere that if your application is > 6 months from your initial submission, it becomes invalid. Please how true is this statement? Do I really have to fill another DS 160 form? Hope this wouldn't affect my date if I do.

In anticipation of a response

wait till you receive yours.
lusen:
Thanks.
I’m not in Nigeria at the moment but I’ve sent my passport to the visa application centre as requested.

My passport will get to the visa application after one week. It was stated in the email I received that I need to submit my passport within two days.

Hope there won’t be any issue of any kind if my passport arrive at the centre after 10 days?

Also, I have applied for a visit visa, which I believe has a validity of three months. I would like to know if the three-month duration commences from the day I received the email requesting my passport submission or from the day the visa is stamped on my passport.

Thanks.

Yes. Most likely approved, also notify them of your movements.

Hello!
I applied for a South Africa visit visa last month.
I’ve just been requested to submit my international passport to South Africa Visa Application Centre within 2 working days.

1) Does that mean I’ve been granted the visa.
2) What could happen if my passport doesn’t get there within two working days as mentioned in the email? Can the visa be withdrawn because of last submission of my passport?

Abi.
Ashirioluwa:
Don't misquote me. My advice was based on his budget for the visa application. He said he budgeted 2000 CAD, which is equivalent to less than 1.2 million naira at today’s official rate, and this money will cover the entire trip cost, including the plane ticket, shopping expenses, and other miscellaneous expenses.

If you think that 2000 Canadian dollars, or 1.2 million naira, is OK, then I have no issues with that.

A guy wrote on this forum that his visa was approved without submitting a bank statement. He said he submitted a letter from his company saying the company was sponsoring him to attend a conference, and the visa was approved.

On this forum, I believe everyone is providing advice or recommendations based on their experiences; none of us are visa officers.
Some people will even get collection mails and still be asking us if their visa was approved. Like we are the ones reviewing visa.
Nairaland is a very interesting place.

You won't get the exact response you are expecting because we are online, but what I can tell you is that Portugal is not that strict with immigration compared to other schegen countries. The most important is finding your feet in Portugal, every other things can be sorted but you won't find an express answer to such because it's illegal from immigration perspective. Hope you understand where I'm heading to, I can't say too much online

I read that story and i felt it is important i put it here. For everyone to read

Please
see:

The journey began when my husband began sourcing for foreign school(scholarship). Lo and behold he got admission but no scholarship, so he turned them down. One of his friends who have been talking to him about Portugal advised him to apply to portugal but he practically refused because of the language barrier and again he wanted a country where he felt he could make it easily. Finally, hubby applied after much convincing that he would get funding when he gets the admission. At last he got admission but no funding, although he applied for one. One fateful day, hubby got a mail that an interview have been scheduled in the next 2days. Immediately, he got himself prepared and most especially got a very good Internet to avoid stories that touch. After some days the result were published and hubby came out 2nd on the list and the department needed just one person, so hubby missed that. We were so bittered after all the preparation and all of that. But his friend kept encouraging him to continue with the visa application that when he gets to Portugal he would definitely get funding. That was how the process began, the financial statements was a big issue. Where are we going to find one? Who do we know? All these questions flew to us, but one thing was certain this time around. Hubby had faith that could move mountain, he had made up his mind to get to Portugal. At last, he got one of his Oga, at the office to give him his statement of account letter and also a letter to back it up that he would sponsor his education (know that it is not a must to pay school fees before leaving Nigeria). So finally, he applied for his visa after all the normal documentations. Hmm.... the worst happened, after we had sold our landed properties so as to boost his own account statement. HE WAS DENIED!!!
Before he got the news of the denial, he was fortunate or should I say privileged to get the number of the "then" consular, who he asked to check the status of the visa. So after the consular confirmed it and saw that he was denied, hubby asked him for his best advice, so he told him to appeal but before he could submit he was invited for another interview and this time, he got it. Finally, he got the visa and moved to Portugal. When he got to Portugal, he got a far date for his appointment in order to process his resident permit, fortunately for him, he was able to bring the date forward. Fast forward, after 5months of getting to Portugal, he invited us using Schengen visa. That was how we all (myself and the kids) moved to Portugal and finally started a masters progam. The very first day I got to Portugal, I fell in love with the country and until now. My love for the country, they are nice, friendly and accommodating people. God bless Portugal
Raregem9000:
The guy that talked about Visit Visa was right. Bayobi's husband did the say thing for his family. See the woman's thread. DARLYNBOI should read this thread and follow the woman on facebook or youtube @Bayobi show. https://www.nairaland.com/6988738/how-migrated-nigeria-portugal
Please advise . Was it appropriate or allowed to invite your spouse with a regular schengen visa for a short visit i believe, and they end up staying back?
These are the things we should be breaking down here.

1. Family Reunion Visa covers for this category of persons.
2. If so be it, and it is allowed to do things like this in Portugal or the schengen region, I think only the poster can clarify, so i will copy her and wait for her response.

We are all here to learn.
