sCun: It has been there for months now, it was put by a certain Irish hacker who claims to be part of the anonymous hackers group. He claims to be protesting against the anti-gay bill passed by the national assembly.
So that thing has been for months and state secuirity service cannot do anything about it. I'm dissapointed.
Car Talk › Re: Nissan And Stallion Nigeria Sign Assembly Deal by hunter21(m): 12:47pm On Oct 10, 2013
jp philips: Nigeria has no business manufacturing cars, we have a lot of area of competitive advantage better than other countries.
As a car manufacturing nation, we cant compete with the Europeans and Asian tigers, that is a fact so why bother ourselves, even America with their level of industrialization is not finding the Japanese competition funny let alone Nigeria.
Innoson can export to Ghana and equally sell to individuals or corporate bodies who are interested, it doesn't call for Govt intervention.

If we really wanna industrialize, we should look at areas where we already have competitive advantage and consolidate on it, Nigeria is sitting on enormous gas reserves have we explored them?

Have we looked at areas of refining where we can export refined products and all west African countries come to us to purchase petroleum products?
What about petrochemical industries? Nigeria has the capacity to produce synthetic tannin, gums, resin, imidazole, plastic (of whichever kind), cellophane, benzene, etc for the whole of Africa, have we looked into those areas?

have we built local capacity in those regards? so what are we manufacturing or assembling cars for? if all these sectors are developed, we are gonna be getting loads of foreign exchange and we are gonna be better off.
We do not need to be an automobile giant, we should at least have a foothold and be self sufficient

Phones › PAPDAN To Launches Made-in-nigeria Phones. by hunter21(op): 7:47pm On Oct 02, 2013
Lagos - The Phone and Allied
Products Dealers Association
(PAPDAN) disclosed plans to
launch two locally-
manufactured mobile phone
brands next month. The President of the
association, Godfrey Iyke
Nwosu, said the made-in-
Nigeria phone brands would
be the outcome of a joint
venture among 20 Nigerian investors who have pooled
resources to introduce
devices that will cater for
local market needs. The two new phone brands,
according to him, will be
called iQ and MaxTel. Nwosu said that PAPDAN
had identified a growing
appetite for cutting-edge
technologies among
Nigerian telecoms
consumers. The two phone brands will
cater for the medium and
smart phone segments so as
to offer choice to consumers,
Nwosu said. The PAPDAN President said
the planned introduction of
the new phones would
provide home-grown
solutions for the Nigerian
technology market. PAPDAN, a group
representing the interest of
phone dealers in Ikeja
Computer Village, the
nation’s largest market
cluster for technology products and services, has a
membership strength of
over 3 000 businesses. Members of PAPDAN occupy
a crucial place in the retail
end of the tech market, as
they sell in excess of 2
million units of phones and
allied devices monthly into Nigeria and several
economies across West
Africa.

Politics › Re: Let's Get One Thing Clear: Boko Haram Is An INTERNATIONAL Operation by hunter21(m): 12:17am On Sep 30, 2013
let us take note of the following points:
1.The present commanders of bokoharam have undergone advanced training at the bengazhi camp, and they have experience fighting in afghanistan, pakistan and iraq.
2. For some paradoxial reasons we do not know, the west is actually surpporting islamists in thier quest to impose a teocratic system ala sharia law in thier countries.
My hypothesis is that bokoharam was russurected by agrieved born to rules who themselves underestimated the evil withe of the sect. You would recall that the sect initially carried out political killings. After the politicians no longer had use for them, they(sect) made contact with foriegn islamists who sympatised with thier cause and gave them assistance in form of training and other surpport. In line with this effort, The experienced fighters talked about in point 1. above were integrated into the sect as trainers, bomb makers, and commanders. This coincided with the up surge in thier attackes and the increased use of ieds. Nigerian intel agencies already know who the born to rule politicians are but arresting them would be counterproductive because thier arrest would not put an end to the sects since the sect is no longer under thier control and such arrest would be viewed as a tribalistic initiative, as those politicians are percieved in thier region as premieres

Politics › Re: Oyo, Canadian Firm Sign $1.3bn Pact On Farming by hunter21(m): 11:44am On Sep 28, 2013
drnoel: Ur comments are a joke on educated minds. I wonder were u got the notion that most south easterners wish our south western brodas ill. Nigerians where are we all going with this bad, this is bad. I didn't know Nigerians hated it had this notion of themselves. Look, I was born in Lagos, grew up there, had Yoruba friends all my life. Speak and understand yoruba but also speak and understand my native dialect. What should matter is that development is taking place in Nigeria, regardless of where. I wish Oyo state success cos i know what ever comes out of there would benefit not just Oyo but the whole south south and nigeria as a whole. That is what is important. U guys should stop fighting over ethnic divide, it will not help us. Instead we will be doing our children harm. Enough is enough. Believe me, easterners know where they stand, both with southerners and northerners but all those are irrelevant without development. As for east progressing, don't uncross ur fingers yet. Igbo's never carry last (believe me, I know, I married one), I assure and they did help develops Lagos no matter how our western Broda's try to deny it.
God bless Nigeria, Igboland, Yorubaland Hausaland, ijawland and the rest of the country.
If not for the defensive stand taken being taken taken by the likes of bloggernaija, by now somebody would have come hear to write "another OWAMBE project" as a comment. I hope you would be hear to give them the same response.

eyenCalabar: This should be on frontpage joor let's use and crack our ribs grin

For me, I'll suggest we students and other concern bodies should come together and contribute the money ASUU needs for them. Remember, nothing is too small. Ranging from 100 NGN recharge card, 50 NGN etc. Infact anyhow you can afford. Anything not cash can be converted to cash and still give to them. I think our FG is broke for now. Let's rise and help ASUU please. Politicians are cheating them.
