onuawuchi: What is the difference between temporary residence visa and study permit? I hear people mention TRV when they are talking about student visa. So I want to know if its an accompanying application for study permit, or is it a different app designed for another set of immigrants?

IMO,"Temporary residence visa" is the stamp you get on your passport and that gives you permission to stay in Canada temporarily.
"Study Permit" is a page document that is attached with your passport and that gives you permission to enter Canada;i think this is collected at the point of entry.
Those that already have d TRV or peeps in Canada can give better explanation.cheers

rockar: pls to all pple that have previously applied, do CDHC misplaces documents submmitted? i wanna apply next week and someone is telling me to make a photocopy of all the docs i am planning to submit. and im thinkin the docs are too much to make a photocopy. i just wanna know if anybody has ever xperienced lost documents after application review from docs sunmited through VAC.......

so far on this thread from part 1-4, no case of any...Actually you need to submit photocopies as well,so it would be better to make 2copies each of your docx; 1 copy for you and 1 for CDHC.

The problem I have now is how to send my application fee to the school, I went to first bank and I was told that before they will transfer money to any school abroad that the school will send me a letter requesting for the payment and also the account number of the school. I don't know if anyone here can help me with that. Pls I need answers. Thanks

Like people already said,GTB ATM card would do ...but you could get the school's acct details and use a Domiciliary acct as well.

True bro, God's mercy n favour is the most important.I submitted my docx on the 21st of January, but what really got me worried was @Ticklin medical call, he submitted Feb 11 precisely 2weeks after mine.By his mercy you will get your TRV this week God's willing.

GboyegaD: For clarification, different countries has different processing times due to the different regulations and documentations that apply. You don't have to feel debased over processes you have no influence over and do not see going through a laid down procedure as a torture.

Srzly I dnt blame the CDHC for this adventure they put us through in our plight to migrate to Canada,I blame YOU and ME. A friend I made on my school's facebook page who is a Ghanaina got his TRV since Mar 26 and I am still here waiting for medical call.The day I told this guy about our processing time, he thought I was joking and just couldn't hide his feelings to the torture we pass through. Broz abeg make a clean print out of the soft copy,i dont know why people make a big deal of this issue. CDHC only ask for original and photocopy of the admission letter...moreover some schools dont issue hard copy e.g my school,wetin i for do now, carry flash drop with my docx abi.You are good to go

According to the information reaching me STOUFFVILLE COLLEGE,TORONTO,ON has closed down and ceased offering ACCA prog. Now,I don't know my stand/chance concerning my study visa application. I am due to complete my treatment come June,2013. It is certain CDHC will request another LOA.

Big broz newacca...I quickly googled it to see if I could get any news but no luck,if truely they are ceasing operation definitely there's no way CDHC won't have the information.To convince CDHC that truely you want to study ACCA in canada, get intouch with LSBF and am sure their admission is close to certain. So when you are contacted after your treatment for a new admission letter you could present your situation to them and tell them the steps you have taken.Because if you want to go for a normal degree now it could hinder your chances, holding to the fact that you would be eligible for undergraduate programme.Just my own View#.I just couldn't ignore this post because you have really been helpful to a lot of us here.
But I would want the more exposed people(Oga SIga,Egbon Fhemmy et al) on this thread to profer solutions to the situation on ground.

Okay that's nice but you should have given it a try since they can assess your documents for admission purpose to know your chances even before you pay,though,that was what they did in my Faculty(Goodman Business School)I can't specifically say that it is applicable to all faculties.
Since you have decided on Algonquin no P, You have precisely 6 months to september today, if they won't take time to process your transcript and other supporting documents,you could give it a try. Start my asking the co-ordinator the processing time for decision, if it takes time you could start preparing for Winter then.Hope this info will help you.Cheers.

That's not totally true, I am yet to send any of my documents in hard copy form to Canada.All were sent as soft copy and I got admitted,though,I still have to send them but I want to be called for medicals before I do that.

kemdee: *Sigh* where on the checklist did you see affidavit of support? only the letter of sponsorship was stated there...I didnt submit any affidavit and even the letter of sponsorship I submitted was a scanned copy cos my sponsor forgot to sign the one he had originally written...

Pardon me,if that was misleading... I used an Agent and it was inclusive in the checklist given to me.It was only a suggestion though, but I know people summit documents that are not included on the checklist.Like I was told by my Agent, every individual's case is unique.

good day my people concerning the affidavit of sponsor,i want to submit my application by tuesday.my Nigeria sponsor said i should not do any affidavit of sponsor since it is not part of the check and beside he is my senior brother. hope dis wont have any side efect on my application m.my two sponsors are my senior brother .one in uk and one in Nigeria with 47k account statement family pix and letter from there place of work ,marriage cert,passport page bearing same surname and pension statement of d one in nigeria and account statement with FGN bond document showing about 1.4million.uk account showing like 32k pound main sponsor and nigeria brother as co sponsor .kindly advise me on these affidavit of sponsor issue.is it really neccessary ?

About the Affidavit of support, its part of the checklist oooo...Moreover it won't cost you much,I did mine in Ikeja for 1k and you don't have to take your sponsor there.All you need is his passport photo and yours,they have the format with them,and when you get it you can take it to your sponsor to sign it.
Its better to be Save than Sorry,IMO,get it.Don't give CDHC an excuse for denial.Cheers.

Submitted Sept 20th, Medical call Dec19th but did it on Jan 7th, Visa out March 29th, u Can go to page 270 of part 3 for documents i submitted, also am Highly favoured cus my Cousin's husband was my sponsor which I knw is a rare case scenario to use such a sponsor and get the Visa still. Am so happy , waited 7months for this, God is good!!!! Virgin Passport, only Ghana was stamped on my passport, Thanks house for all your Moral support, u guyz kept me going...One love people!

I guess you have been called for medicals since you are talking of payment receipt, when did you apply for TRV and when will your class start. My classes start by May 6th, I submitted on the 21st of January and I have nt been called for medicals.

Don't really know what you mean by introduction letter,but I believe sponsorship letter should do just that.Only you can best understand the reasons for your sponsorship, I can only suggest you fine tune the reason to convince the Visa Officer in believing you.

sean622: Please house, I'm offered an admission into LSBF toronto campus to study Acca, I wish to ask how and where to include proof of relationship because I'm using a sponsor of different surname with #4m in his soa, also proof of home ties. I've read part 2,3 and 4 of this tread but have not seen anyone heading to this shool. London school of Business and Finance....... House pls I greatly need help to package my application

Firstly, you would need Affidavit of support from a high court, also you would need to establish your relationship with your sponsor,stating the number of his/her dependents and the reason for such gesture.
Secondly, I guess you didn't read through the part 2&3 properly,because we have people like Newacca who have applied to LSBF and even one guy(can't remember his name now) just resume this March.

Your grade is low though, but its not adviseable to go for another undergraduate programme because CDHC would want you to explain what you have been doing for the over 4/5years which was the time you spent in the university.Though, that can be arranged with a very convincing statement of purpose.
If you wouldn't mind, why not take your time to browse through colleges in canada and put a target of courses starting in winter/summer/fall 2014 in mind as sept 2013 maynot be feasible.

Today make it 9weeks precisely in which I submitted my application to the CDHC for processing, I have a Sept start date for my Macc and I am expected to resume by May to finalise my admission requirements by enrolling for some Pre-requisite courses that isnot in our curriculum here in Nigeria. I am hopeful that insha Allahu I will get called for Medicals this week.

kenniy: the summary is i just got my visa

the very long story is: this morning was chating with kayce when i saw this on vfs: "Your application has been assessed by the Canadian High Commission/Consulate General of Canada and is being returned to the centre where you applied".. i know that means they sending back my documents to vfs..i also know most likely its not yet at vfs, as the status will be ".... ready for collection..." when it gets there..
ordinarily,as is done before, i woulda assumed that is my visa. but cos like most people that got visa since january, they would get an email saying "Your application to study or work in Canada has been approved." ..and as at then, i haven't gotten that mail. i freaked out (ask kayce ).. cos i also know CDHC could still reject someone after medicals. i original tot i'll wait till 'morrow cos i wasnt with the slip (i stopped carrying it in my bag just last week after i was told by a nigerian cdhc official that they not gonna issue visa for me yet with more than 6 months to resume school)..i eventually got someone to bring the slip for me when i was sure i wouldnt sleep right knowin there is a schrodinger's cat right in my domain..
when i got there, my documents where still in transit, so had to wait for like 2 hr..eventually i got the package, and shakingly, i opened it and went straight to my passport..then i smiled..

sorry i bored u all, just so ecstatic at the moment..lol..yh..i also got that email too few mins ago..

What's causing all this Delay, those that did medicals in Jan are yet to get their TRV, even those of us that applies in Jan are yet to be called for Medicals.
