Not derogatory at all. My experience tells me otherwise, numbers don't lie. Many nigerians know little of the rest of Africa. Indeed, many africans at large know little of even their immediate neighbours. Africans tend to be poorly travelled and even more uninformed than you can imagine. I have a very thorough working and studying knowledge of east and southern Africa for instance and am itching to go to west Africa one day, inshallah. I can confirm even here on this thread uninformed and ignorant responses by many of the contributors as evidence that alot of people are just filling space and earning seun precious dollars.
My question still stands: how familiar are you with the rest of Africa? ( Any aspect at all, you have chosen cultural attire as your entry point, so you can begin there )

I know abt Africa to my best knowledge. Are u trying to say all Kenyans know every single detail abt all African countries and the world at large?
I have been following this thread and i have also seen many Kenyans here display some form of Ignorance.

Yes i started with cultural attires because i have searched Sub-sharan Africa and found out that only few countries have truly promoted and appealing attires and Kenya is just not one of them.
In East Africa, the Ethiopians and Somalis have far better and improved attires, the Habeshas, Oromos and Somalis, but i also found out that the Somalis promote theirs best.

Kenyan clothes to me have not been promoted to show a standard, exotic and appealing taste. It has no uniqueness of its own or unique styles. Any African country can claim to own it.
Can't u show me pics of unique kenyan styles which are worn by all Kenyans both as an everyday attire and to social gatherings?
What do u guys use in your social gatherings? Western clothes?

I love this about Nigeria. We should accept you beat us in empowerment of native Africans. Even though nothing else in Nigeria is working, this is one thing that worked.

Am tired of hearing our names with hunger. Especially when hearing it from a South African. But I believe time will pass and we will get back to the position where we used to be in. You are one of the people who gets me disappointed and make me think why it is a blessing being an African. It always dissapoint me why we helped u out to get rid of Apartheid. Not giving our help a credit and even calling our country the land of hunger, and the xenophobic attack you have makes me want to think if your years of conolization is not over yet. Even when Nelson Mandela died, no body mentioned our names. I don't care how people can get shocked of what av said now. Was every African shocked for us when any body call us the land of hunger? Personally, i have so much respect for Ethiopia and Ethiopians. You guys have a very wonderful history, like the richest history in Africa.
I also admire the fact that most of u guys are proud Africans and accept being black people despite the fact that you look quite different from other subsaharan Africans.
Anyone that calls Ethiopia a land of hunger is just sick. They think it's easy managing the largest country in East Africa with so much diversity.

South Africa isn't like your country, this people they are 100% South Africans, Nothing wrong if they are rich, the color it doesn't matter, I will repeat this once again, we built this country together from the beginning, most of black south africans are different compare to other africans in the continent, because we shared our space with other races for millions of years, we are now one, we are the South Africans. After 1994 is then we started to see other africans, when they came to our country, before we were only south africans.

Yes, we know that the whites are full south africans, but it is very clear that without the whites there, the blacks alone wouldn't have achieved anything close to half there.

The difference between Nigerians and Kenyans when it comes to traditional attires is that we Nigerians have promoted and advanced our clothes to suit modern everyday living and lifestyle, while that of Kenyans is just for the runway and primitive rural dwellers.

Kenya has beautiful fabrics and clothing designs, just that you guys have failed to develop yours like ours and make it a part of your every attires.

Nigeria has by far the most succesful and beautiful artistes on the continent. No country can reach half. Some regions put together cannot even be up to Nigeria.

Now, over to the ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY.
I can proudly say that the whole East Africa put together cannot challenge Nigeria in the African Entertainment industry.

See our handsome and stinkingly rich musicians, how many of these can Kenyans produce? Or even East Africa at large?

Yeah, that's just the truth. The Nigerian influence is just too much for Kenya to handle. I can't believe Kenyans do not promote their culture at all. It's really sad.
