Afolabi6046: Chelsea lost out on the second player in this same transfer window, nawa o. Maybe we would see more of Barkley and RLC(if he stays). As at now, I guess we have a midfield trio of Kante, Jorginho and Fabregas; which looks cool in my opinion.
Not crying too much for Golovin. Jorginho style of play can actually bring more out of Fabregas. My major concern is what happens when Kante gets injured.
larride: That is if The Godfather controls the local game. That’s the case with Tinubu and the rest.
We all see there’s nothing like Ordinary governor with the way Ganduje treat Kwankwaso Bleep up. Ortom as the governor does not control his party structure in his state ditto for Ambode. Bello has Kogi APC in his pocket and can’t be termed ordinary.
I feel you die. The Governors crown the President. That's why I miss OBJ. That one dey bully Governors anyhow, unlike Jonathan that will open Excess Crude Account for them to come and chop.
Wike don hijack party structure nah. At the last convention, Jonathan put forward his men, and Wike brought bags of money and got his people elected at all levels of the party including Chairman. I'm waiting for Larride to give me the nuts and bolts of the story.
larride: It seems Akpabio can’t control Udom anymore, Udom just like Ganduje does not want to be Akpabio puppet in the government house. Most of these governor that are not loyal to their political godfather, the first thing they do is hijack the party structure in the state so they are the de facto leader of the party in the state so they can successfully fight their godfather. I think Akpabio still have some form of control over his senatorial district given the large number of people who decamped to APC there. I was really surprised.
Akwa Ibom is a PDP state and I think Akpabio will be at a disadvantage unless APC find a way to win the state comes 2019 which is a tall dream to be honest.
PDP really needs to take control back of the party from Wike and his goons but the question is who is going to do that? Wike has the money it seems.
Chai. No permanent friend in politics. See as Akpabio went against Jonathan party.
Akpabio is a wise man. He's been quiet against APC all this while unlike Fayose, FFK and all those gutter mouth who have sown too much bad blood to cross over.
Meanwhile, please update me on the beef between Wike and Jonathan if you have info.
larride: Most of those defectors are sincerely not using their head. Politics is a local game, you have to be sure of your base before you start making uncalculated decisions. Kwankwaso with all his so called support base in Kano hasn’t been able to enter Kano for about 2 years now. Who the hell knows Shehu Sani and Hunkunyi in Kaduna until they ride on the Buhari wave in 2015, the same Sani that has been losing election since 2003 and can’t even win CPC primary in 2011 now thinks he has the grassroots support to win his re-election ditto for Hunkuyi. Dino Melaye will be coming up against a popular Smart Adeyemi backed by the state government. It must be noted that Smart Adeyemi has been winning the Kogi West senatorial district since 2007 until Dino was rewarded with the APC ticket in 2015.
2019 will make a lot of our politicians to understand that politics is a local game, you have to be certain of your local base first else you are heading to political oblivion. The only big wig senator that APC will miss is Saraki and they are already getting one back in Akpabio who’s planning to defect to APC.
I like your analysis.
So Akpabio is defecting to APC?
Is that because Wike has taken over PDP structure or because that's the only platform to go against the current Akwa Ibom Governor?
diggz: I don't want Higuaín anywhere near this team...he should carry is bad luck to another club. we can manage giroud, batshuayi and morita this season. we can even add tammy into the equation.... cuz no need to buy lobbish for buying sake especially not the phat b@stard.
I'm with you on that. I would rather manage what we got than spend big on 30 year old striker who will expire in 2 years max
lalaboi: All i want to know is why are we stalling to accept this reported Willian bid from barcelona. . This is a chance to get rid of unproductive wastemen and we are stalling. Na until League start before we dey gather team for this season?
This year is going to be a disaster! Coach with no Pedigree, only interested in 'Having fun' and not winning trophies. . Abeg, wake me up when dem don sack am by December
lol. Shades of AVB perhaps? Make we dey watch sha before casting judgement too early.
Elnino4ladies: Who is more stupid - Barca for offering 65 million euros for a 30 year old Willian or Chelsea for rejecting the bid?
Barca offering may be stüpid but Chelsea rejecting may not be. Willian is Hazards favourite player to play with and will lose morale if Chelsea sell him, and will be looking to follow him out the door. It will just give Hazard a ready excuse.
Afolabi6046: Haman actually signed a pre-contact with Bolton not a full one. Alright, Alright, I get it. I guess because it hasn't happened to a big club and a real time player recently that's why i'm not aware. Thanks.
If you follow Italian football transfer system you will know that dozens of players are signed and sold on same summer without ever playing for the club. Clubs trade players all the time. Many players are owned 50:50 by two different clubs and deals are often done without the intention of the player ever playing for the club.
Eg Inter owned Bonucci 50:50 with Treviso. They bought Trevisos 50% share and then sold Bonucci and 2 other players to Genoa as part of the deal to sign Diego Milito. He did not even train with Genoa before Bari bought 50% of him and he moved to Bari.
Afolabi6046: " On 28 July 2011, he was sold to Spartak Moscow for €10 million due to the match fixing scandal involving Fenerbahce and Emenike."
Now tell me another club that sold a player just after buying him because of a supposedly impressive offer because clearly that wasn't the case in Emenike's situation. And i'm not saying there's a RULE, i just don't think it's sensible.
Dietmar Haman went from Liverpool to Bolton to Man City in one summer without playing for Bolton
Vanquay: That article makes no mention of an official bid. It's just a bunch of could have, would have, should have...If someone wants to break the Transfer record was it Inter Milan on an 18yr old...That man was referring to a younger Messi not the 18/19yr old tearing up La Liga...here's your guy talking. It's clear there was never a real official bid...once again the Barca director is lieing out of his ass like the typical barcabot.
"There was a time when we discussed his signing but he was brought up by Barcelona and it would have been very bad to sign him without involving them."
The point in bold corroborates Barca President story that they came close to losing him when Inter wanted to activate his release clause of $150m. . . and he had to convince Messi and his dad to stay, then subsequently upped the release clause to 250m.
Intermilan do not have to involve Barca as they are paying the release clause amount. They only only need to talk with the player.
A40: Speed is relative. Would you play Mueller on your wings just on the back of that gif? Nobody describes Mueller as slow but if we could compile a list of top 20 quickest forwards would Mueller be there? Even in his adjudged prime
Winger is not his primary position. Compared to other CAMS, he should be in the top 10% for pace.
I've always thought Muller good pace especially for a CAM. . . at least according to what my eyes have always noticed.
I always doubt myself when I see our Nairaland Bayern boys claiming he has no pace or physicality. Since they watch him each week, I would be inclined to believe them and start to doubt my own eyes. My eye must be paining me.
Vanquay: That Barca director is lieing out of his ass...nobody would bid 100m+ for Messi then Infact I can't think of any big club that would be interested in him.
Creatrixity: Even though I prefer Ronaldo, that night at Stamford bridge still brings chills to my spine. When I think about it, I make a sign of the cross and say "Allahu Akbar".
The guile, the effortless demeanor with which that short niqqa went through the Chelsea defence akin to the swift movement of a searing hot blade through fresh marmalade. The boy just can't stop, won't stop attacking, I couldn't tell if his name was Lionel or P. Diddy!
The fact that it took a concerted Italian job by Asier Del Horno and Jose Mourinho to end his night is a testament to the quality, the ruthless force of nature that was Lionel Messi.
Those who know, know. No mind these Wikipedia revisionists. I can stomach Owen vs Mbappe but Owen vs Messi is a complete joke. They should thank the Lord that Messi was hampered by several injuries in his teenage years that made him miss key momentous moments eg UCL final, wey dey give them mouth. Messi from then to now has not changed except for scoring goals.
