IjeBos: Yes, so irresponsible parents have children. Irresponsible parents send their children to school without food. What do you suggest happens?. I suggest they be reported to Social Services for Home Visit. It's one of the rare and surefire glimpses that the State has into domestic abuse, why get rid of it And to be clear only child neglect can make a parent send a child to school without food in the 1st world, not poverty. Nobody is that poor to not be able to afford even P&J sandwiches |

God1000: I don't understand your logic, what you are trying to say is that israel is allowed to wipe out the entire population of over 2.5 million Palestinians in an attempt to get rid of a handful of Hamas fighters If Israel wanted to wipe them out they would have. Unlike HAMAS that targets random Israelis, Israel targets HAMAS who use civilians as human shield Only circa 50,000 have died in Gaza despite heavy bombardment and that's cos Israel always tells them where they will be targeting HAMAS, so they can clear out |

IjeBos: They are children. Why is this even a debate? And their parents have responsibilities And any parent that cannot take care of a responsibility this minor has already probably lost the child to Social Services |

budaatum: As I said, the underprivileged. I'm certain Mamdani is not proposing to feed the children of those who can afford to feed their own children. And New York policies will not be for the entire USA, I doubt.
My niece came to London from Manchester for Christmas, and was surprised their London nephews just got on the buses without paying. She said she'd do the same when she went back to Manchester, but I had to let her know London has a free transport policy for certain ages which Manchester seems to lack. Her mother told me a bus driver refused to let a primary school girl travel because she had no money. We'd burn the bus company if they do the same in London. That one na for your pocket. You have your own Mamdani in London, Sadiq Khan who introduced it last year to win votes. What's the difference between Year 6 and Year 7. Do children stop growing between that time or do their parents start affording to carry out their basic responsibility? You would think feeding a child for a week cannot be done with £2. Any child whose parents cannot put this together is already in the Care system |

IjeBos: Meals should be a part of School. Children shouldn't have to worry about what they'll eat at school. We as a society should be able to get behind that. Parents should take responsibility for feeding their children at school as they do at home. We are not a third world country and there is nobody that cannot buy bread and ham for sandwiches. This £2 Ham will feed 2 children for 2 weeks. If it's Haram for you, Turkey dey. This was how we ate at school.

budaatum: I feel you. You'd hate school meals for the underprivileged too, and wouldn't mind them starving. Hopefully, New Yorkers won't unreason like you do.
Do let Amazontopaz know that UK that is not socialist has most of the same policies as Mamdani is proposing, and the lights stay on. While USA that is not socialist is curtailing civil liberties, though not where guns are concerned. There is hardly anybody in the UK that cannot afford school meals, only children with household income less than £7.4k get free school meals above Year 2. I know of children in my daughters school whose parents earn £20k to £30k and they pack sandwiches. The rest of us pay the school. Ibime: Paying a reasonable level of tax is fine until politicians start becoming frivolous with it. Nobody will complain to pay tax to cover emergency services, free education to secondary school, military, infrastructure, healthcare and shelter for the homeless
It's when they start paying stuffs that should be personal responsibility that I begin to vex
eg free school meals for kids when those kids parents can afford to smoke 20 cigar per day. I still dey vex with Marcus Rashford over that matter.

That some people would cap for that policy just shows how out of touch they are with market economics

How does that irrelevant journalism hurt Tinubu’s reelection? A man who is accessible and known to be in good health.
Can anyone here say that the problem they have with Tinubu is that he is ill and not fit to oversee his duties?
At what point will you finally see things for what they are? If he was in good health, then why the constant medical trips to France? Sowore has been exposing this, but the Pit Obi that will wait till 100 days to election to scatter opposition is the one not helping Tinubu Which of the two are practically and materially helping Tinubu? That's how you will be sweeping floor focusing on Sowore while Obi is burning the roof |

rooftops: Just watching the highlights after the break and all i can say is enzo Fernandez is a m.ad man. The chance palmer played directly to the keeper that benfica now countered from, the player ran in front of him like he was not there. Okay you no get speed but why not take one for the team by fouling the player. Every Chelsea player that ran back during that counter ran past enzo, this was after having 2hrs break o. Don't recall this incident, but Enzo is never there. A complete liability who makes our midfield a hot knife through butter The same way they glide past him.isnthe same way he is late to every press, out of position when returning and causing overloads on our defence Anybody with 10% football sense knows Chelsea are an instantly better team without him See as Lavia-Caicedo combo had us with relaxed mind for all 86 mins yesterday |

seankafor: Media sources report that Israel is preparing to carry out a large-scale aggressive aerial operation in Yemen, targeting Houthi-affiliated sites, in addition to Yemeni infrastructure and governmental and military headquarters, similar to the attacks it previously carried out in Iran. I have no doubt. Iran's ring of fire around Israel has been decapitated except Yemen. Syria gone, Hezbollah gone, Hamas cut off, just Houthis remain Israel will be coordinating this one with the Saudis who will prepare the Sunnis to take back Yemen. Sunnis make up 65% of Yemen and they will be remiss not to take advantage of the aerial bombardment to launch their own ground operations and take back their country. If Iran is not scared, they will attack on behalf of Houthis. If they are scared, they will let the Houthis fall. |
