Lemme start naming CMS and CAMS of Iniestas era that have outscored him while Nihilist goes on wild goose chase all over the internet. . .
Freestyle off the top of my head:
Kevin Nolan Insert random name here. . . Insert random name here. . . Insert random name here. . .
Soon to join the list. . .
Wilfred Ndidi Michel Antonio
They would think twice before using Zidane stats from 1990 to justify Eunuchs infertility. |

Nihilist: George Haji Junininho Pernambucano Paul Scholes
I can add Ryan Giggs, Beckham, etc.
No WPOTY winners there.
So what's your point exactly? Gheorge Hagi - only 45 goals in Italy and Spain. I can't count Romanian or Turkish league of that time. Juninho Pernambucano - only 100 goals in Europe Scholes - 2000s era. Ryan Giggs - not a CAM I will repeat my question. Name 3 CAMS from 1990s era with more goals than Zidane. This is looking worse than JAMB question. |

Nihilist: Ordinary David Beckham has more career goals than Zidane, and he was a right midfielder, not a winger.
Based on Goals Beckham should have at least won wpoty if that's the angle you want to follow.
Youri Djorkaeff that scored more than Zidane didn't even win a pin.
The years that Zidane won the league, he scored 9, 9, and 11 goals in all comps for the season. I think he even had only 2 league goals in 98.
Leave story for mattias. Give me 3 CAMS and leave story for Mathias. All I want is 3 CAMS from 1990s era that scored more than Zidanes 125 career club goals. If you ask me about Iniesta, I can pull any random name from the top of my head without looking even Oscar, Ozil, Kevin Nolan them. . . . So all I want is 3 CAMs from 1990s era that outscored Zidane. It's not a hard task. Simples. Oh, and Youri Djorkaeff was a forward. Leave those of us from that era to know that. |

jonsnow92: Ibime..You have still not answered me o..9 man of the match in 5 Major Tournaments played for Spain..2 Finals inclusive.. Need I mention that Xavi played in all these tournaments bar Euro 2016.. All are polling booth MOTM, except World Cup final for the goal. That's how Iniesta went to Euro 2012, made only one assist in Group Stage, made the least key passes, least passes, least goals of the Spain midfield. . . . while Xavi was making all the assists in the tough games. . yet Iniesta came out the polling booth the winner. I don't know who is more of a polling booth footballer, David Beckham or the albino. Nihilist: Scholes has been called one of the greatest midfielders of all time, same as Iniesta. Those doing the naming were not looking at stats. Which stats did the likes of Zidane have? Who called Scholes the Greatest Midfielder of all time. Seriously oh, I don't mean fellow players like Zidane praising him which players always do to gratiate themselves. And BTW, Scholes stats are way better than Iniestas. They are already more than twice as good, and if you extrapolate Scholes stats from his AM days alone and gross up for his whole career, they will be 3 or 4 times as good. Zidanes stats will be top 3 of any 1990s attacking midfielders you wish to name, and are twice as good as Iniestas despite playing in a different lower-scoring era. |

Dont mention Ogbolor names again o Iniesta is a good player but a fraud in the sense of the plaudits he gets for doing less than other great players. The dude is elevated waaaayyy above his station and that's where the fraud comes in. The part that gets me the most is that the greatest CM of my time, Xavi, who provided the platform for him is sometimes overlooked in the polling booth for Iniesta. I am even willing to prove this fraudery by putting £100 on the line that Iniesta will make FIFA or UEFA team of the year, despite his horrible season. Open to the first taker. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Ibime(m): 12:34pm On Apr 18, 2017 |
Nihilist: Ballack was a CM, like Iniesta. 14 assists in 4 seasons is paltry.
Drogba had 1 spectacular season out of 6 but he is a legend. Throughout his stay at Chelsea, he averaged less than 20 league goals per season. Those are Troy Deeney numbers. Yet Drogba is a Legend.
Volume of passes means zilch. Nothing. Jordan Henderson is currently the highest volume passer in the league today...it doesn't prove that he's better than anybody
Scholes and Iniesta have roughly the same number of passes per game. Scholes was also registering 1 or 2 leahue assists per season. Scholes was not crap was he? Iniesta was not a CM. Now he is. Even the Raumdeuter that brought this CM argument typed in clear cold letters that "Iniesta was an AM". Scholes on the other hand was a CM for the 2nd half of his career. Go and check his stats from 1996 to 2004 when he played as an AM (in 4-4-2). Dude was registering 10 to 20 goals per season without fail. So the stats don't back you up. And BTW, nobody called Scholes the greatest Playmaker of all time and nobody called Drogba the greatest striker of all time. But when it comes to Eunuch, we hear all sort of poetry and eulogy. If you are an attacking player, you must have stats. Simple. You cannot be an AM, winger or striker and say you are not into scoring or assisting. Fa, fa, fa, foul! Defensive players are the only ones we will judge qualitatively. |

jonsnow92: No..He didnt pass 100 per game like Xavi..Trust me Possesion isnt solely about the number of passes made,Its also about not loosing the ball whenever you are given..Iniesta rarely looses the ball..Like Rarely..Give him the ball and he wont loose it despite been marked by 2-3 players every match...My Brother I've seen you type series of things about Iniesta..I think I saw somewhere you called him a fraud..Now I ask You..Is Iniesta a Fraud or not?? Dembele hardly loses the ball when he is given it, neither does Alexander Hleb or Eden Hazard. |

Nihilist: So Iniesta doesn't have contributions ni? If you want to judge the Chelsea legends there based on stats, you will disappointed. Lampard is the only exceptional person stat wise there.
Apart from 2 non- consecutive seasons at the club, Drogba was scoring 8, 10, 5 league goals per season. And that's a striker.
I think Ballack had only 14 league assists in his 4 years playing for us.
Omo leave story. Some players have to assessed qualitatively not quantitatively. Ballack was not an AM at Chelsea, he was a holding player. Goals conceded record speaks for him. As AM at Bayern and Leverkusen, his goals speak for him. Drogba was not lauded for his 16 goal seasons. It is his 2007 season of 33 goals that brought him to prominence. There is a clear dissociation of logic when one claims that Iniesta was integral to Barcas famed possession game and does not have the passing stats to back it up. Take any above-average midfielder and plump in that Barca team and they will match his passing stats. Even Arturo Vidal, by virtue of playing in a high possession volume team gets to pass the ball 70 times per match (more than Iniesta). Sign Arturo Vidal to run your possession game and sorry will be your middle name. Iniesta has never been a possession driver, he is just there by association. The last few years since Xavi retired proves that, and his possession stats his whole career proves that. We have all been sold a lemon on Iniesta his whole career. That dude is just a dribbler, nothing more. |

pamcode: lol you really don't like flamboyant midfielders with their 'dagbose' style. Of all Spain attacking midfielders in those tournaments, he made the least passes, least key passes, least assists and least goals. Hazard is unlucky he wasn't born in Barcelona otherwise there is nothing Iniesta does better than him. The only thing Iniesta does better than most top midfielders is dribbling, and Hazard does it better sef. Since Xavi retired, they have been blaming old age and Enrique as to why Iniesta cannot continue the famed Barca stifling possession game, but I have been saying for years that stats just do not back up the fact that Iniesta runs possession game, rather he benefits from it. This is a midfielder who struggles to top 60 passes per game, while possession Kings reach 90-100, so he was just a beneficiary all along, not a driver of possession. Just like Seydou Keita never ran possession game, but benefited from who he was playing with. This is now a proven fact. |

pamcode: if it fat you claim to affect Ibime when he destroys Iniesta, what do we say is the cause of your own maddening obsession. I have no obsession with Iniesta. I only have obsession with frauds and Iniesta happens to be the most prominent one. How do you explain the fact that Xavi scored or assisted exactly 50% of Spain's tournament knockout goals, and Iniestas only contribution was being in the right place at the right time vs Holland, and one assist in a whitewash of Russia, yet takes more credit. I have been stating for the last 5 years that Iniesta had absolutely nothing to do with Barca's famed midfield dominance with his paltry 60 passes per match, and true to word, as soon as Xavi retired, Barca's stifling midfield dominance disappeared like the fart of a leprous witch. They have been blaming it on old age since Iniesta was 30. |

If you pick that team apart, you realize that they are much better than most of our players, simply put, they're the best team in the league, they are the highest scores now and the meanest defense.
On current form, they will beat arsenal hands down and can edge Manchester United at their home. They certainly shouldnt be underestimated. Yeah, they are better than us. We have known since January. But probability is probability. What's the probability of them not dropping at least 2 points against Palace away, Arsenal, West Ham away, Manure, Leicester away. . . . and away to a Hull team who don't lose at home? |

donjazet: I feel soo terrible right now because memories of 2010/2011 keeps flooding my mind. After last seasons debacle, one has to ask if this Chelsea squad has the mental capability to withstand the tremendous amount of pressure that will follow in all subsequent games.
Tottenham have already shown that they are capable of handling pressure eg. Against Swansea, they are an inform team that have had played 4-0 on 9 separate occasions this season, they're full of confidence and they are at the top of the game and the perceived 'tough matches' which are left for them are being played at their home. They look every bit like champions materials and it is not unforeseeable seeing them winning the rest of their of their matches or 5 out of 6.
Chelsea has to play at 2 bogey grounds, West Brom and everton, everton have won their last 9 matches at home, trashing Manchester City 4-0 there. Can Chelsea win it, we have Southampton also who are also an unpredictable team, they did the double over us last season. Chelsea fans really need to be anxious and nervous and hope that conte continues his miracle. Last season showed that this team is mentally weak, against crystal palace too, not knowing how to respond to pressure resurfaced a bit in the team.
Tremendous Credit must be given to conte for creating a system which hid the many flaws of our players and surprised many teams but it's fair to say that many teams have studied the system very well and our weaknesses are now known to all.
Many teams know once you suppress the attacks from the flanks, you limit 90% of the creative channels, our midfielders don't know what to do with the ball, they always look for the safest option, our midfielders are technically deficient and their only strength is just stopping opponents attacks. Truth be told, Against the big teams many times this season we have been second best for most of the periods in the matches but lady luck kept us in her goodwill.
Conte himself has a minor flaw by my personal observation, whenever we're losing, he himself seems to lose his ardour, intensity and passion. He looks very sullen and beaten on the touchline, his normal boisterousness and vociferous exuberance on the touchline disappears and that's not good because a managers character will always reflect on the players and his sullen looks will mostly affect the players reactions.
Catholics will say soak your chaplets in water when anxious, all Chelsea fans really need to do that right now and hope that lady luck continue to shine on us. Peace bro's. #KTBFFH I wouldn't worry too much. Spurs will drop one game, if not two. |

Nihilist: Exactly, with Hazard marked out, we lost the only creative player we have in the team. Alonso is not a creative player, he does not take on other players, he does not make defence splitting passes. His main strength is his off the ball movement.
But what good is your movement off the ball, if the guy that should be passing you the ball has been marked out of the game?
Pedro and Costa are in the same category as Alonso. They are runners off the ball. They don't create nada. So even if Alonso was fit, with Hazard taken out the game, it's likely to have been the same story.
So what are the alternatives? Play Fab instead of Matic in a 343? Maybe...but the superior midfield numbers from Manyoo will still choke everywhere. See Man City game for reference.
The real play here should have been 433/451. That way you can accomodate 2 creative players and still stay defensively sound. That's just it.
If you play 343 against the big boys, you will lose the midfield. If your defence and attack are on point, then you will get away with it. If they get the lesson teachers out to mark out your best player, then you're fvcked...as we were today. Spot on assessment. They choked everything. 4-3-3 was the only way we could have got something from this match. You can't even blame Hazard and co in this game. This was not a game for wingers at all. |

Lampard had not celebrated his 32nd birthday when the league trophy was handled to him. So forget the crap you wrote. His 32nd year, he didn't win the league.
You are very lucky this time. Next time, you try to bring down the don, I'll not only chop your £100, you will have to change your monicker to "Iniestaisgod". See this mugu. The bet was set on this statement below: Debroslink: His 27 useless goals didn't win him the league title and also got him knocked out @ round 16 in UCL. I asked you to put £100 on the above statement and you started changing mouth, telling us about birthdays and such nonsense. Did Lampards 27 goals win Chelsea the league or not, mugu. You think this is a case of carryalong nigga that can win the league with zero goals contributed? Chelsea has never won a league without Lampard scoring at least 20 goals. That is what it takes to win for Chelsea, not Barca where you can phuck up by 5 goals in midfield, get shitted on all game and have your forwards bail you out with 6 goals. Where were his useless 27 goals when Man United without CR7 won the league?
Where were his useless 27 goals when Samuel Eto'o knocked him out of UCL at round 16?
Although Iniesta didn't play full 90 mins, we all saw his impact.
Show us any impact Lampard made in your UCL and Europa finals successes.
Show us his display against the Brazilian farmers in club world cup final.
Show me any assist he contributed in 5 European finals he played in his career.
Show me how his numerous goals got England to any semi final match in his career.
Show me how his useless goals made England more successful than Nigeria in the last 25 years. All this nonsense above shows the privilege of carryalong mentality. Messis 100 goals + assists this season will not yield anything. Maybe that makes carryalong Benzema better than him this season abi? I'm glad you know that Lampard was competing with Ronaldo for goals and titles. I wish Iniesta could be mentioned as competing with Ronaldo, rather than being carried along by Messi, Suarez and co who are the ones who compete with Cristiano. Oya cut the büllshit and put your money up. £100 says Chelsea won the league title in the season when Lampard scored 27 goals. Put your money up or shut up. |
