You no get any case. Perisic has 2 years to give, is on free transfer and available, can deputise both LWB and RWB and we already have 2 good wingbacks. By the time the 2 years is up, either one of our young WB will be ready, or Chilwell will be back to full fitness, or we would have had the chance to sign another wingback for a reasonable sum.

As of right now Guehi is better than Silva. Play Silva in a back 4 like Guehi does every week and see. It wasn't two years we saw Silva in a back 4. Silva is a class defender. We appreciate his positioning and passing which shows highlights of his class from his younger years, which the back 3 allows him to show. That's a position you can play and show class as an older sweeper like Lothar Matheus and co did till 40 years old, but you will be delusional to think he will be doing that adequately in a back 4 like Guehi does weekly. 2020 is not that far away for empirical evidence of Silva struggling in that set-up. Silva will not enter Crystal Palace back four presently.

Cucurella is a good player but not a classy one. I can't even recall one decent cross from Kuku last season. These are just players that disturb down the line with their pace but don't have the touch of class in their final product. Perisic is someone that plant cross on strikers head from unimaginable angles with both feet and even the outside of his foot. Watch out for his headers at the back post as well. He's a beast in the air.
