BlueMann:Pep learned everything he knows of coaching from Bielsa Emerson 6 saves, Meslier 1 save Master vs Student
|
Captain KDB turning a great game week into a bad one |
sheyishemba:As long as Chilwell is starting on left side, James go ride bench. Lampard won't go with two flying fullback cos the 2 defenders will be exposed, especially when you have ageing leg like Silva in defence. James will play when Azpi switch to LB on the occasion Chilwell is injured/rested or we are playing a small team |
alternateReality:He won't be the setlpiece taker when Ziyech returns |
BlueAngel444:I missed the 2nd half cos I was dropping my family somewhere. See my shock when. I checked scores at full-time. See what removing error players in the defence does. The first half alone I watched was not like before when I'm just waiting for error from Alonso, Kepa, Rudiger, Chris or even James. |
LAMPARD OUT! |
Skimpledawg:OK for this sort of game. Palace play 2 man midfield so no midfield runners to escort. |
BlueAngel444:You should know this before expecting 3 or 4 nil before the game. They have frustrated Manure and Everton so far with Everton only sneaking through on a dodgy penalty. Pulisic is someone that can help unlock them at some point in 2nd half. |
ennyjay72:Happy to see that Tomori is also our first substitute. That's the correct pecking order - Zouma, Silva then Tomori |
Skimpledawg:He has been good. |
macjireh:No wam. We all have freedom of speech. Freedom after foolish speech is not guaranteed though whether you quote pesin or not. |
Skimpledawg:Put Jorginho in your prayers abeg. That midfield is looking weak. |
Skimpledawg:There is no attack on Chelsea fans. There is attack on foolish posts like below: macjireh: macjireh:Players are clearly injured and someone thinks Lampard is hoarding them. This is what spending money causes, such that people's expectations and impatience are through the roof and blaming manager for not playing injured players. Spirit of foolishness has come over this thread. That's what you need to pray against Pastor, rather than dishing out advice to the rational ones. |
EarlRagnar2:If anything, it will be getting worse |
EarlRagnar2:Say no to 27 year old West Africans footballers. Real age will be somewhere around 32. In 2 years time, you will start wondering why he dropped off. Name a Ghanaian CM who was not in steep decline by 29. Essien, Muntari, Appiah, Asamoah were all washed at that age. |
biomustry:He is a learner |
pamcode:Patricio has better fixtures and better defence |
timay:Na sentiment dey win election. He was telling them what they will be able to provide for their families with Govt support whether jobs, health insurance, childcare, free state university education if your family earns under $125k etc. On top of that, it was carried live by every US network, symbolically he looks strong and responsible with his mask on while the irresponsible President is on his sick bed. This is the first time US Networks are carrying his speech live. They usually carry the President's speeches. He proved that every attempt POTUS made to paint him as senile is incorrect cos he was effortlessly reeling out stats and numbers with confidence on live TV, looking like someone in full control of his senses. |
Who is watching Bidens speech? He is making a strong play for the popular vote and the working man. This is electioneering at it's finest. |
iamoyindamola:There are so many good striker options now that this may be a false economy. Buying Brewster to allow you purchase an 8.5m midfielder, or buying say Soucek to allow you purchase an 8.5m striker like Ings or Jimenez, which is better. I will not touch Brewster until I see Sheffield firing upfront or if defences stop conceding penalties allowing me to go big on Liverpool or Man City defence. I can't see any 8.5m midfielder outperforming Ings or Jimenez right now |
Greatihex:Time will tell. However you don't need a fortune teller to let you know that Kepa problem is not due to manager, nor is Alonso's slowness or Emerson's tendency not to follow the runner. Lampard could easily play 3 defenders to mitigate these weaknesses like Arteta does, and like Lampard himself did last season, but when you are training a team to play attacking football due to the investment in the team, you keep the same structure so players get used to the team pattern till all the players are fit. This may mean weak players leave you more exposed in the short term, which is what's happening now. That may mean playing Alonso at leftback knowing he is a poor leftback but a decent LWB. You can't change the structure of the team to accommodate your weakest players knowing they are just placeholders for when the better players comeback. For example, if you play 3 defenders, you can only play 2 CMs and we have like 8 CMs, so you would be wasting Havertz and co talent just to accommodate Rudiger, Chris and Alonso weakness. |
BlueAngel444:The fact Alonso and Silva made brainfarts against West Brom and good coaching pulled back a draw. Roland just dey yarn dust. He did not have genuine concerns about Klopp when Moreno made two brainfarts against Sevilla in Europa league and lost Liverpool the final. But since it's Chelsea, he left the brainfarter to raise concern about the manager. No matter of concern, loss or draw this season has been unconnected to a brainfart from players who we have bought replacements for, but yet to step on the pitch. Brainfart from Chris and Kepa lost us the Liverpool game. Brainfarts from Alonso and Silva drew us the West Brom game Carabao doesn't matter but Emerson brainfarted there to draw the match. He was only on the pitch cos Chilwell can't do 90 minutes at present. Some people shouting Lampard name upandan expecting to see Chilwell, Ziyech or Pulisic, not knowing the physical conditioning it takes to step on the pitch and risk of injury in rushing back. I see no problem this season so far except what we already know about certain weak players in our team. Thank God their replacements will soon be fit. Number one weakness Kepa is already gone. |
BikeMan:Why una too dey type nonsense? Na Minamino, Jota and some youth players wey Arteta dey park bus for to scrape through on penalties dey make you bark nonsense like this? Where were you when Lampard carried Gilmour and Barkley to trash a stronger Liverpool 2-0 in FA Cup? The kind of nonsense I read here these days ehn. |
Segedinho:£11m is the cost of the deal which includes his £5m wages. The loan fee will be £6m. Still decent. |
AceRoyal:Na lack of money kill am. He was worrying how to pay down his mortgage. A lesson to always cut ones coat according to their size. Keeping up with the Joneses can make one desperate. That guy could have sold that house, taken out his equity and bought a £0.5m house outright to remove stress from his head. |
Sarmiz24:If you read the title of this thread, you will see that you are the dumb one jumping in feet first. Davido said "if I work for my father, I will be a billionaire in dollars". . . . yet his father is not a billionaire in dollars. You getti the point now? Pipe low. |
donjazet:This is a multi-layered question. In the long run, most if not all of these cryptos will be worthless. In the medium term you can buy Bitcoin around the $4k-$5k mark and sell around the $8k-$10k mark. I can't say more, although note there's a lot of scams parading as Bitcoin exchanges/vendors in Naija so probably best to avoid altogether unless you can invest through a certi vendor abroad like Coinbase. You can ask Leyqute for further detail apart from the entry and exit points I highlighted above. You will hit those entry and exit points once or twice a year. If you are treating it as something to just buy and hold that will make you rich, you will probably lose money. |
GBOKASINCHA:You know say Davido like to exaggerate. On Bad, Baddo, Baddest he said "I get two million dollars, no be asset". The next week he said he is worth N30BLN ($80m) |
On radio he said his father is worth $700m so how will working for his father make him a billionaire? |
Truthspoon1:His accusation of lack of pattern is from last season, unless you want to tell me 4 games is enough to draw his conclusion which speaks more of a jump jump personality than any rational analysis. This season we played Liverpool where you would adjust your pattern to contain them anyway and lost to a red card. We played West Brom where 3 brain farts put us behind but the attacking play the manager has worked on brought us back in the game. The other two games have been OK. So what exactly are you talking about this season, except to tell us your blood is hot. We have had two weeks preseason and the players brought in to eliminate our error players are really yet to take to the pitch so the old players are still making brainfarts as expected. |
MrColdsweat:This is incorrect. A lot of personnel problems required change of Lampard pattern from game to game in the 2nd half of last season that made you think he has no pattern. It is actually adapting the style of play to the personnel, not lack of pattern. Lampard pattern was set in the first half of last season, a high pressing, high attacking team. Abraham's injury forced the tactics to adapt away from high pressing because Giroud cannot fulfill that function. Let Graham Potter be forced to use Glenn Murray and you will see Brighton pattern of play change. On the attacking front, it is the managers job to get players into scoring positions. Lampard does that and frequently. The chart below shows we had the 2nd highest expected goals last season behind Man City. It is the quality of the finishers that will actualise that XGF into actual goals. On the defensive front, expected Goals Against (XGA in the chart below) is also very good in comparison. The quality of the Goalkeeper and the defenders will actualise that XGC into low goals conceded. Another personnel problem that confused you is Lampard changed to back three for personnel reasons which disrupted the usual pattern of play. This is because Lampard saw his keeper is useless, his left-full back Alonso is useless defensively, Kante is always injured meaning midfield protection is gone and Rudiger is full of brain farts. That is just a manager trying to reduce risk from personnel problems from game to game to survive the short-term which you interpreted as a lack of pattern. Sarri never had the level of problem with Kepa that Lampard faced. Sarris Kepa and Lampard Kepa are two different players. Also Sarri did not face the same Kante injury problems. You also say Ancelotti has distinct style of play. Where were you when Ancelotti was having personnel problems last season when Tom Davies and Sigurddson turned his midfield into highway for any team to score 4 goals against them. Now Ancelotti has solved his personnel problem, you are attributing it to pattern of play. Where was his pattern when his personnel were weak? Don't confuse personnel issues with lack of pattern. Lampard will be judged by me when the error players have been replaced in the starting 11. I'm talking Alonso, Kepa, Jorginho, Rudiger, Chris primarily. Does he get his players in scoring position to have high XG? Yes. Does his defence have low XGA? Yes. That's the managers job done. You are just judging on player errors, for example because 2 players made 3 brain farts against West Brom and Emerson made another brainfart yesterday.

adebayo201:Whether you like it or not, there is always wahala in every game. The fact Kepa and Cabs have manned our posts so far is enough reason to give time. Add the absence of Thiago and Chilwell in defence. FFS, Emerson and Alonso can lose any manager the game out of nothing much less when combined with Kepa and Caba. Attack-wise, you are still missing Pulisic and Ziyech, meanwhile Havertz just landed like 3 days before his debut. You first judge a manager by how often he gets his team into threatening situations - expected goals. Lampard has always done that. Chelsea had the 2nd highest expected goals last season. Whether the players finish those chances depends on their quality. This is not Arsenal where Arteta just defend all game and just launch ball for Aubameyang to do R2. On the defensive side, you can't judge just because West Brom took 3 shots from 3 individual mistakes and scored, meanwhile Chelsea were the ones with all the patterns of play. This is why we made signings to get rid of players who make too many individual mistakes and have too many individual weaknesses that no manager can coach out of them. I am talking Emerson, Alonslow, Kepa, Rudiger, Chris, Jorginho. So far this season, these same players are still full in our starting 11 and are the ones making all the mistakes, so as far as I am concerned, it is too early. What changed Klopps story is getting rid of error players like Karius and Lovren for Alison and Van Dijk. His coaching remain the same when he was finishing 8th and now, he just needed to get rid of the error players. So far this season, we have removed most of the error players on paper, but they are still on the pitch so far because their replacements have not been ready to play. |
