Funny enough, Rennes are pushing for areola as replacement for Mendy.
Lollichon was the one pushing Areola over Kepa in 2018. He was also Cechs GK coach from Rennes to Chelsea. Cech even asked Arsenal to sign him. I don't understand why Lollichon can't now recommend Areola to Cech for roughly the same price as Mendy. Or did Lollichon change his mind? Areola is better than Mendy.

Ajax as a team was a better team to Chelsea everyone knows. If Mount was in Ajax too, he would be untouchable

18 years old Mount at Vitesse had 23G/A one season
VDB have been there 5 seasons, highest he could do was 19
OK, let's see. Bear in mind VDB plays most of his games in CM while Mount was strictly an AM in a 4-2-3-1. Also bear in mind Mount took all freekicks and corners for Vitesse while Ziyech and Quincy take the set pieces for Ajax. That should account for up to 10 of Mounts g+a. I know what I saw when they faced and what I saw VDB do to Madrid, Juve and Spurs in UCL. I put VDB on Havertz level, never mind Mount. Havertz class may still be audio cos we haven't seen him do it at highest UCL level, while VDB is tried and tested.

ya coupled with a certain van der sar helping. But signing by united, not their usually MO, but it happened would be sad to see VDB on the bench though.
VDB is insurance against Pogba playing rogue with his contract going into the last year of contract. He may have to chop bench for some time, but the minute the club realise Pogba won't sign and they can't get money out of him, they will prioritize VDB

We already have numerous midfielders, do we really need more? I just want to us take care of our goal keeping problem..

Kepa will not change overnight. He lacks good communication with his defense, he has very poor ariel command, he cannot come out to grab the ball or punch it well away when we concede set pieces. He loses focus easily, he has weak hands for a keeper and many more problems.

This area has been my chief area of concern, not the midfield that is fully stacked.
Kepa will be dealt with surely, I just think VDB is an upgrade on Barkley, Kova and Mount. I won't say he's better than RLC attacking wise but he is miles above RLC in controlling midfield.

Very good deal. Dare I say Barca massively overpaid for Frenkie De Jong. I've always rated VDB higher than Frenkie De Jong right from time
Indeed. Me too. Also DeJong wages is pushing £350kpw while VDB won't cross £150k. There is some Covid discount in VDB price though, about £10m discount on what they were asking last summer.

Sergio Romero is going to Aston Villa.. The fact that Chelsea did not go in for him probably means those at the helm of affairs rate Edouard Mendy higher
Or maybe Manure refused to sell to us.

I wonder why they don't revive Areola bid since Mendy's price is pushing close to what PSG would sell Areola for. Maybe wages is also another factor. I know Romero also earns decent wage.

I would imagine a CT was ordered because the story states he hit his head. @Ibime correct me if I am wrong, they should have asked the length from where he fell, trying to determine the impact level. Before ordering the CT, the doctor would have rubbed his hand across Ibime’s son’s head looking to feel trauma or facial changes/ reaction to pain. I think he was trying to play safe based off the story and you are right about radiation, you want to avoid exposure.
Yeah the first guy did all that and pinpointed haematoma in one spot before the main ambulance arrived

It could well be. That is why i said your boy must have barely qualified for the CT in the first place.

Some other units might have held off on the CT and just observed for a longer period especially when the history of true seizure is not clear cut.

We try to avoid CT in children if possible because of the radiation. In some cases though it has to be done.
This is a specialist children's hospital (MRI Manchester). Even the CT machine looked smaller than what I'm used to.

This your post got me to further think of how lucky you are to be in an advanced country that values the health of it's citizens and has a fully functional emergency response system.

Here, people have lost their lives over incidents even smaller than this.

Following your story, you are indeed lucky to have been in a country where, immediately the incident happened, the ambulance was there in no time to provide emergency health services and transport him to a nearby hospital equipped with CT scans and all other Medical paraphernalia that eventually saved his life plus the well qualified health practitioners on hand. I really envy you bro.

Your son's survival story just took me back to my own sister's death account, she was alive for more than one hour after her crash but bled out to death because people couldn't bring her out of the crashed car but worse than that was that the nearby health center, her body was eventually taken too was not what deserves to be called a health center but a death center. The place didn't even have basic medical apparatus for handling emergencies, showing that people in need of emergencies die unnecessarily here.

Truly brother, you are blessed to have escaped this hellhole. My ultimate ambition na to join una there one day.
You see why I can't easily denigrate this country. Before the ambulance came, a solitary paramedic arrived by car (first responder who can get there quicker than the main ambulance) then the ambulance came, then another senior medic came in a different car came shortly after (who must be a doctor sent to support paramedics in life threatening situations). Before they came, 999 operator has already coached us through performing CPR.

Before ambulance reach Hospital, they have already organised Consultant to be on standby with crash team. From entering the hospital to CT scan took 10 mins and in another 5 mins after that, X-Ray was ready for cervical scan. Nobody asked my skin colour or whether I pay taxes or have insurance before treatment. The lead Radiographer on the CT was one black boy (looks in his mid-20s) whilst the lead Radiographer on the X-Ray was one black girl (can't be up to 30). The nurse-in-charge in step-down observation unit after he had recovered sufficiently was one Somalian girl also mid-20s with hijab on her head. This country is trying abeg.

It is only those with rebellious spirit wey never see how things dey run for other countries go dey complain about UK.

CT will usually pick up the obvious bleeds and whatnot and also almost all the tiny ones too.

However if a patient is still not himself after a couple of weeks and the doctor does not believe it is just concussion (which is the most likely explanation) next step would be an MRI which is a higher level of imaging.

To reassure you a bit. Seizure which occurs immediately after the head injury and lasts only for a few minutes followed by return to normal conscious state is almost always benign compared to the ones that happen hours to days after the injury or last for several minutes or when there is no return to normal or when the seizures are recurrent.
If the latter happens that is when alarm bells start ringing.
Reading on internet, what happened can't pass fencing response (lifting arms up, tremor on the limbs and crossing fingers), although he hit his back on the chair on the way down which must have winded him.

Lol. No disrespect was meant. I was an ED Registrar and i understand completely why Neurology follow up was not organized. They must/should have told Ibime to see his GP though.

As alarming as what he described seems it did not qualify as severe head injury and likely barely qualified for that CT sef. Before discharge 2 teams headed by an Emergency Physician and a Paediatrician would have discussed and come to the conclusion that there was no need for further Neurology follow up.

In the absence of further seizure or seizure-like activity EEG is of limited value. It is used to find out why someone is having more seizures. If there are no more seizures what are you doing it for then?

If the child is not back to a 100% in a few weeks as demonstrated by headaches, sleepiness, vomiting, poor co-ordination e.t.c or if the Neurologist has any concerns he would most likely move to MRI which would be of more value at that point. It will tell you if there is a small bleed in the brain missed by the earlier CT or if there is cerebral oedema i.e brain swelling or any other structural problem.
Surely we would receive a letter from GP before long if not the Consultant themselves.

Are you saying CT may miss some small bleed, or brain swelling. If so, small enough to correct itself?

Please look for a pediatric one if you can before settling for anyone, they are quite scarce.
He/ she will make that determination based on your story and observation of your son but I doubt cognitive, I mean it can be part but not the primary.

An EEG (Electroencephalogram) will be the more probable test: approach than CT. The CT scan done at the ER looked for signs of trauma in your son’s head, not necessarily extensive abnormalities in electrical activities in the brain which is what you need to capture considering he had a seizure.

That EEG will look for abnormalities in electrical activities in the brain which is what triggers seizures.
OK would you class getting knocked out and your hands going in the air and fingers and toes curling on each other as a seizure or just a bad knock-out?

Please take this advice very seriously!

Now, while seizure is a natural way of reacting to extreme changes, I will definitely advice you and madam to take him back to the hospital/ a neuro specifically after 2 weeks just to make sure everything is still okay. Detail with the neuro preferably what happened and how he has been since the incident and then take it from there.

Keep a close eye for abnormal behaviors especially body movements in the coming days...Except there are changes to his baseline behavior wait until 2 weeks before setting up the appointment with a neuro.

I am not trying to raise your anxiety any further but I am speaking from a professional standpoint especially in children who have higher tolerance levels.
Thanks. I will do this on private Insurance as NHS have discharged him with no follow up booked.

Does the Neuro test involve CT scan or is it just cognitive tests?

Mendy has a great height (6’6”) for a goalkeeper, but he seems to parry most shots to dangerous areas where opposing attackers can easily hit a rebound. Maybe that could be an area Cech could work to fix.

The young shall grow. I'm currently in hospital. My son climbed dining table this morning and fell on his head. As we picked him him up, expecting his cry, instead he fell silent and went into seizure and stopped breathing like a boxer about to die in the ring. The fear wey catch me. We gave him CPR and called ambulance. Luckily he caught his wind and regained consciousness after 3 or 4 minutes. After 2 or 3 hours in hospital he was back to his normal self and CT scan cleared him of brain bleed. We will be discharged soon. This made me reflect on the innocents whose lives became punchlines here a few days ago. It is completely unacceptable, and also unacceptable to accuse a father of molesting his children. Nothing scares in life more than losing children, and nothing offends a father more than being accused of being improper with his children, or mocking the death of children.

Ajax quickly accepted the bid. Surprised few teams did not considered signing him. Is it because of Van der sar
He was due to leave to Madrid or Manure anyway. Ajax already promised him transfer at £45m since last summer so it would be loss of faith if they reject a reasonable bid around that mark. The £5m difference is Covid discount cos Ajax need money too as Dutch league does not generate much TV Revenue so without fans in stadium, they need extra cash.

The North risks going down the road of Pakistan where any Muslim who has personal beef with a non-muslim can just gather one or two people and accuse their enemy of blasphemy just to get rid of them.

It is quite a foolish law to implement in a multifaith society and the fact a group of muslim lawyers rubber-stamped it shows the pressure on them is tremendous. No reasonable thinking educated person in the privacy of their own room will think it is a good idea. It is a law that whips up mob sentiment and inflames mob mentality. Pakistan is having regular riots when their courts free people accused of blasphemy (no Judge will want to easily sentence a man to death on hearsay evidence). Everytime a judge frees someone accused of blasphemy, there will be riots all over Pakistan. Pakistan President was on radio show the other week trying to promote investment opportunities for his country and all the journalist was interest in asking him was about one Christian woman found not guilty of blasphemy, sparking multiple riots all over the country. See him entering long shalaye about how the Government is protecting her and looking for another country to grant her asylum. The interviewer just kept picking at him on this point, and what he came on the radio show to promote was overshadowed.

Ibime, there are some regulars in fa cup that missed out.
Please what are the criteria for having a spot in fa cup?
I remember one time mukina promoted top 4 in Carling cup and relegated bottom 4 then she created Carling cup Deux for those that missed out on Carling cup and fa cup
The only criteria that made them miss out was requesting code too late. Every regular or high performer who requested within 5 to 7 days of opening received code. I used a rough estimation of top 40 in the main league, plus former Champions. We cannot be waiting indefinitely for people, for example I may have 40 outstanding requests for code, I have to start allocating almost immediately otherwise people will start mentioning you multiple times and you lose track. Therefore anyone thinking I will have 80 unactioned mentions and will be waiting for them to log in to Nairaland one week later, that's impractical. If you are not on this thread within 5 days of FPL opening, shows you are not a regular. Nihilist who is a high performing regular missed out last year due to lateness. It's just one of those things.

3. Better investigations into misconducts and malpractices of cops who break the law. Many cops are truly roaming freely after killing people, that is very bad.
I agree with your points but I don't think better investigations will yield different result from all the officers or killings that have gone Scott free. This is because the US law not only gives the right to bear arms but also protects the right to use arms for self defence, or the right for law enforcement to use arms if they believe themselves or the public are in danger. In addition, the bar for proving 1st degree murder is exceptionally high and hinges on premeditation. You often cannot prove premeditation in the fast paced environment triggered by a gun. At best, you then drop to manslaughter which can also be evaded by self defence laws or reasonable fear of coming to harm.

Jacob Scott shooter for example will get a light rap on the wrist for maybe use of excess force cos he can evidence many steps of escalation from physical fight to taser use.

The one that will piss black people off and add to sense of injustice is this 17 year old boy that killed two protestors. That boy will walk scott-free even though we all know he took gun to that protest hoping someone will give him a reason to use it. Why?

1. He went to a protest as a counter-protestor (the law allows him to protest)

2. He bore arms to the protest (the law allows him to bare arms)

3. He shot two protestors (the law allows him to use arms in self defence. The video which shows the protestors running him down and kicking him on the ground will easily qualify as self-defence. One of the guys he shot also had a gun drawn on him)

The verdict will come out and people will lose their minds. They will be mad at the Jury for implementing the law, when they should be mad at the stüpid 2nd amendment law that provides cover for anyone with the intention of murdering someone to go out, provoke them verbally, then shoot them when the matter escalate physically.

Same way they were mad at the George Zimmerman verdict. This guys case is no different to Zimmerman. Zimmerman was allowed by law to carry a gun, and was allowed by law to use it on Trayvon when Trayvon started kpokposing his face. Zimmermans only crime in the eyes of the law was harassing Trayvon who was just minding his own business. Harassment or cursing someone doesn't carry any sentence.

It saddens me when black people support second amendment cos they will always be on the losing side of 2nd amendment. You can't outgun who produces the guns and has laws to enshrine usage of those guns. The argument they make that "Guns don't kill people, People kill people" is actually an argument from the belly of racism, the National Rifle Association. Well, I wash my hands of any black American who thinks right to bear arms is not a problem for them. There is no racist male in America who does not own multiple high powered weapons, and the reason for that ownership is either fear of blacks and latins, or a pipe dream of subjugation of blacks and latins. Show me a redneck without a gun and I'll show you a Nigerian politican who hasn't stolen money before.

2nd Amendment repeal should be first and foremost on any BLM agenda for me to even take them serious. Until then, I wash my hands cos you can't eat your cake and have it. Obama knew this is the problem and did not bother addressing black killings often by Police cos he knew it will always happen and he will be back every two weeks to talk about the same thing. The moment he starts to address it frequently, they will hang it on his neck and hold him responsible for the fact the killings haven't stopped and he will lose political capital. He kept fairly silent on the matter and just attacked 2nd amendment repeal because he knows that is where his problem lies.
