TLona1: Mou did not do it in style like Pep. Pep didn't nust win it back to back, he also garnered 100 and 98 points while doing the back to back making it the highest and 2nd highest points ever in EPL's history.
There's nothing as good as victory in style. Same way Pep did not win LaLiga in style like Mourinho who has points and goal record there. Mourinho broke points record while winning EPL 14 years ago, same as Pep. Records are there to be broken over time. The fact Yohan Blake has better time than Carl Lewis does not make him greater. Mourinho also did it while reaching UCL semis which Pep has been struggling to do despite Pellegrini handing over to him in UCL semi. |

TLona1: Mourinho inherited Ronaldo, Kaka and Benzema and bought many other players but still won one La Liga in 4 years. Pep has won 2 EPLs in 3 years Pep points record is nothing special. Mourinho matched that in Spain. His back-to-back is nothing special. Many managers did that. Fergie did that several.times,.including 3 times in a row. So why should we suck dick just because Sheikh broke FFP rules to save Pep from.his first season humiliation when his players and squad depth was not over superior to opposition. |

TLona1: Mourinho won the La Liga once in 4 years while Pep has won the EPL twice in 3 years (winning it back to back) and still counting. Mourinho couldn't even win the La Liga back to back.
This is why more attention is given to Pep's prowess in the EPL than Mourinho's when he was in La Liga.
Capisce? Is Pep the first to win back to back? Pep was getting trashed in EPL till Sheikh saved him. Make we hear word for. |

Whether the club didn't think we would be in Europa final, who knows. All I know is it's a direct order from Roman to play this game.
Chelsea fans did a lot of anti-Semitic chanting that may have led the club to try to wash it's image in this way also. |

Eruditor: Walker is better than Trippier at certain things and he was first choice no denying that. But I am telling you it was not a 90-10 thing. More like 55-45.
And Walker was not the best RB in the league anything. Tottenham have never cried that Walker left the way they will should Harry Kane or Eriksen leave.
I am not guessing about Sané. You know Bayern refused to pay for him when Pep was in Bayern right? Trippier has 10 times better delivery than Walker but Trippier gets physically dominated by any winger he comes up against. Trippier is low key becoming a massive liability like Alonso. The likes of Neres, Tadic and Sterling nearly wrote the epitaph on his top level career in the last few UCL fixtures. That guy cannot win any duel with a winger at the moment, whether it's pace, strength or positioning required of him. Walker is head and shoulders above. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Ibime(m): 4:54pm On May 15, 2019 |
Eruditor: Conspiracy theorist at his finest.
City went for Walker because it was easier to buy him than Trippier. You are right that Walker wanted to leave though. Remember Pep was going for Dani Alves, when he took PSG's offer for more money, City then went all in for Walker. So Walker was not City's first choice. Let me just put it out there.
Sané tapped up by Bayern lol. Sané already told (I forget the press) that he will be in City for years after the United game. Players taking their time to sign contracts is not new. Every agent wants to eke out as much money as possible for their clients. Walker had been acrimonious with Spurs in the press and in his attitude, and adamant he was leaving. . . which is the only reason they started planning for their future. Trippier is not his mate. Sane go do you like film. Watch this space. |

Eruditor: Hahaha Walker was getting benched to Trippier before he left. His last few games Poch was playing Trippier.
Best RB in the league indeed.
As if English homegrown talents are not overpriced. You are telling us 50M. If a team is to sign even Trippier today how much will he go for? Nonsense. Walker cannot be benched by any Trippier. That's like saying Rabiot is being benched by another PSG player. Spurs knew Walker was leaving and in an acrimonious manner too having been tapped up by City, and decided to start their succession planning by giving Trippier increased minutes. If Walker is being benched by Trippier, why did City not bring £50m for Trippier instead? Trippier is even trained in City academy and would fit HG criteria better. Same way Spurs sat down Aldeweireld for a year for insisting he get paid the same money as VVD, not because any other Spurs defender is better. They did the same to Danny Rose to discipline him too. Even till today, I don't believe Leroy Sane is not a guaranteed starter for City. Sane has been tapped up by Bayern and refusing to sign new contract, so Pep will prioritise the players who will continue with the team after summer over Sane. |

Eruditor: But he was used as a winger for the most part this season and scored at least 9 goals in all competitions. He did not reduce their total goals and in fact, according to his manager, was the best player this season.
If his fraud manager could use him in that role you said he won't be good at to win 98points, should that manager not get any credit? Don't bring me discussing needs of Chelsea into wider context. This is just an excerpt of us discussing what would be the best fit for Chelsea. We are already overstocked with ball-to-feet wingers who like to come inside. Bernardo is basically another no10 who plays on wings. We already have that in Hazard and Willian. What Chelsea need more of is a flying winger like Son, Sterling, Mane, Sane, Salah type. City already have 2 of those, so Bernardo is a better fit for them as a ball-to-feet winger, but not necessarily a priority for Chelsea. I don't actually think City will even be worse if Bernardo is sat down for Sane. |

Eruditor: Ibime, you said Bernardo was not good after the Bournemouth game that City won 2-1 at the 95th minute (I recall that post vividly). I saw some of you say CR7 was in a one-man team in Portugal. Today, Bernado is top 20 -because he plays for Pep.
You insulted Sterling, Stones, Otamendi, City have barely had a natural LB for 2 seasons. Yet you are telling us Djibouti budget. If Marcus Alonso played for City, Pep would have used him over Delph and Zinchenko. Guess what you would have said today? That he is top 20. Rubbish and oversimplification. Go and ask Nihilist about our famous Sterling vs Oscar debate that ran for years. I was on record here saying Sterling is in the top 3 AMs under 23 in 2014 which prompted people to say Oscar is better and led to a 4 year debate on Sterling vs Oscar. What is the context of Bernardo quote? Otamendi is a rubbish defender in almost everything Stones is a poor defender who is good on the ball. When you play in a possession team who hardly get attacked, that does not matter so much so he is good to go for what Pep uses him for, just like other defenders I fundamentally dislike like Ramos and Pique. |

Will you sharrap dia Mikel did not make any Conte's team that made 90+ points, and was sent to China in January Fabregas also rode bench all season, only being allowed on after Chelsea had sealed victory and switch to 3-5-2 to accommodate the passenger. If Conte, had trusted those 2 escorts with his midfield, he will not even make top 4. Oh I forgot, the next season when Matic left and Bakayoko flopped, Fabregas played almost every game and led us outside top4 |
