afrodoc2: I don’t trust all those lightweight Bundesliga players. There is a reason those 2 went that cheap and big clubs were not after them. Dembele and Sancho came as teenagers and impressed more than the 2 cheapies you mentioned ( especially Brandt).
We can buy them from Dortmund if push comes to shove, and of course if they impressed there.
P.S I don’t think they can replace Pogba by the way. We need to revert to a real 4-3-3 and neither Brandt or Thorgan can survive as CMs in the EPL. Brandt has buyout clause and Hazard was in last year of contract. That was the only reason a confirmed German and Belgium international can go that cheap. Those boys are worth £45m+ on the open market. Both will replace barber without sweating. Brandt has a hint of DeBruyne about him if you ask me. Big clubs would have been in for them, but Dortmund in the only club where you are guaranteed starting shirt and UCL football every year without fail. Players with great skill but low repute/exposure always choose Dortmund for the UCL exposure. That allows them to get their reputation to where they can walk into the biggest clubs and demand starting shirt without having to muddle through politics of being a no name. |

afrodoc2: He was in contract with Ajax at that time so Ajax had all the cards. The Ajax model is to keep their players for a few years and sell him after he blows for top dollar. No way are they agreeing to sell him just before he blows. Agent can hawk player with or without the selling clubs knowledge. Leave that thing. After hawking, they will start holding the selling club to ransom by refusing to sign new contract, being disruptive etc. That's how Mino Raiola was hawking Pogba to City last year. Young boy in Ajax in his debut year, his agent would have hawked him from £10m to £20m as at then depending on his contract status. |

afrodoc2: Tuanzebe is already our player so we shouldn't even count him as incoming. Your list is actually quite good, and i think quite achievable.
Another list could be De Ligt, Wan Bissaka, Ndombele, Bruno Fernandes, Jadon Sancho.
Your list would be cheaper and more realistic. Julian Brandt and Thorgan Hazard just got sold for a combined £45m, Manure didn't flinch. Both can replace Pogba + one winger freeing up funds to improve the squad. You cannot afford more than 2 of the names above in a single window. You guys are lethargically sleep-walking into another big name panic buy by the end of the window. |

afrodoc2: A scout can't OFFER another club's player to us. Can a scout offer Mason Greenwood to Barcelona? I agree scouts can recommend a player but they have no rights over a player to be able to offer him to another club. Agents offer players all the time, knowing they can strike a deal with the players club |

Chelsea should not hesitate to sign Kovacic at the reported £35m. He will never score or assist, but he is a good technical defensive midfielder. |

BikeMan: I learnt it's something that has to do with cameras. The press wanted cameras during the whole training and he didn't want that because he wanted to train his boys for set piece. I believe that because Higuain-Luiz issue was a minor issue. Higuain was even begging Luiz. Set-piece routines should not be captured on camera so I equally believe that's why Sarri was pissed. |
