adetorosey: @justwise and other guys on this forum,
Please refer to my post below:
Hello, My sister in law has just been refused a family visit visa to visit my family in the Uk, Myself and my wife are settled in the UK. The problem is the reason they gave for refusal is totally different from our circumstances. They talked about her visiting her twin brother which is not true. This mix up is crazy and I do not know what to do. Hope you can help, Thank you.
Update: I have just been updated that her passport has no stamp whatsoever for refusal. This kind of re-affirm the speculation we had that there was mix up in dealing with her case.
Next step: I have tried calling a number (+23414406203) which charges £1.37 per min. They could provide any solution to the problem. They were more interested in keeping me on the phone for long. Her refusal letter said she is not entitled to administrative review or appeal. Someone in the house please help with an email to contact them to have a second look at the matter.
@iblaw, please help me with the email you used to contact them. VisaSheffield@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk |

The problem is the reason they gave for refusal is totally different from our circumstances. They talked about her visiting her twin brother which is not true. This mix up is crazy and i do not know what to do. Hope you can help, Thank you. Same thing happened to me in 2014. My first application was refused cause of cash deposit so i reapplied with evidence/purpose of deposit, second application was also a refusal but all the details on the refusal letter including DOB were wrong. I sent a mail to Sheffield and after three weeks got a reply that there is nothing wrong with the refusal letter sent to me. I WAS MAD and lost interest that was September 2014. 4th January 2015 i was speaking to someone in Uk and told him what happened with my application and that i might apply again in March but he advised me to keep sending them mails that an error has been made in my info otherwise future application will be refused. Reluctantly 6th January 2015 i sent another DETAILED MAIL indicating all the errors and with scanned documents as prove, within two days 8th January i got a reply from Entry Clearance Manager with lots of apology saying their system states visa was issued to me, i was asked to take my passport to BDHC Lagos for my visa. Next day i went to DBHC Lagos with a copy of the mail from Sheffield and after waiting for about 2 hours my passport was returned to me with visa. So send them a detailed mail highlighting the error and scan documents as prove and you might get a positive response otherwise reapply and states errors |

Find below little i can say...
As soon as you step out of the plane you follow other passengers towards the Arrival section of the airport, there will be an escalator (most times escalator is not working so you use it as a staircase down). During the time of Ebola, as soon as you get off the escalator you will find Airport Health officers who will check your temperature but now after the escalator you will find Immigration officers directing passengers on which way to go for Passport Control, there is a queue for Nigerian passport holders another queue for Foreign passport holders and another queue for Visa on Arrival.
Depending on which queue you belong it might take you not less than 30mins before your passport can be stamped in from there you go to the Luggage section and find passengers crowded round looking and waiting for their luggage. If you need a trolley ask any passenger with one and there will show you which way to go to get one nearby, it cost N150 (cost more for the bigger trolley and if you want an airport staff to handle it for you).
After you pick you luggage you head for the exit but on you way to the exit point, Custom officers might call you aside and ask you questions they might even request to see the content of your luggage.
From there you step out into the main Arrival Hall, staff of some Airport approved taxi providers will ask if you need a taxi, as you walk pass the Taxi stand you will be stopped by some Airport staff who will request to see your boarding pass and confirm the luggage number is the same on your luggage.
From there you will see an Exit sign and step out of the mail Arrival Hall and meet another set of taxi drivers asking if you need their service also if someone is meeting you at the airport the person will most likely be under the canopy opposite the Arrival Hall as you step outside.
That the little i can say.... |

nairacountry: £350 is more than enough self. just hold few #200mint notes for the hungry guys in naija airport (if you wish to be guy man) and hold little pounds, in your pocket oh not your check-in luggage, wich will be enough for layover snacks, transport from LHR to your hotel then frequently use your MasterCard for all other expenses while in the UK. Caveat; you can spend more than $300(or £ equivalent) per day!
By the way, which airline tickets & at Wat price as at Wen did you book? Bon voyage PLEASE NOTE: Diamond bank stopped usage of Naira debit card with immediate effect sometime last week, Standard Chartered will stop 1st June and Stanbic IBTC has reduced daily limit to $100 so PLEASE check with your bank before you travel |

abnot: Thanks as you said I arrived Heathrow this morning with only £120 cash and was not asked bout money . Was only asked why I was seeking entry to the UK , how long I planned to stay , if I planned to stay with friends and what I was doing in the UK up till 2014 (I was on a tier 4 then) Thats it....their primary concern at UK POE is your immigration status not whether you have enough money with you or not |

everydayperson: Hello People. 1: I have a 2-yr UK tourist visa which expires in May 2016. over the past 3 years I have been to the UK 11 times.
2: I wish to apply for 2-YRS (not 6-months) UK tourist visas for my Wife and 2 kids who have never been to the UK but they have been to Germany, Dubai, Canada and the US.
I am concerned about future hikes in the cost of visa application and renewal fees so i want to go straight-away for a 2-yr visa.
Please advise, will i get a positive consideration seeing that we have a reasonably OK travel history and I have never over-stayed my UK visits at any occasion? If you’re applying for a long-term visit visa You must prove that: you have a frequent and ongoing need to come to the UK the reason why you need to come to the UK is unlikely to change while your visitor visa is valid you plan to leave the UK at the end of each visit You may be given a visa for a shorter period than requested if you don’t do this. You won’t get a refund of the application fee if you get a shorter visa or your application is refused. Your visa may be cancelled and you may get a long-term ban on visiting if your travel history shows you’re repeatedly living in the UK for extended periods. I believe the above answers your question, more info in the link below https://www.gov.uk/standard-visitor-visa/eligibility |

abnot: So apparently withdrawals in UK with a stanbic IBTC Naira mastercard attracts a rate of NGN420 to the pound while buying at the black market attracts a rate of NGN455 to the pound. Is it OK to travel with just GBP100 cash and withdraw the rest upon arrival in UK? I want to know if having a funded bank account will be acceptable in place of physical cash by the UKVI peeps at heathrow as it will be more profitable to travel with a bank card and a little cash as opposed to changing entire money with the present black market exchange rate. At the POE in Uk they dont usually ask for evidence that you have money with you...the main thing is, you immigration status eg answer questions correctly in line with whats in their system and your visa. Well, i have never been asked anything both in London and Manchester airport about whether i have money with me or not others might have such experience sha. |

On Monday morning he got an email that sheffield received the application, Today my friends mother called to inform him that sheffield called her to ask her some questions like - If she's expecting anyone? His name, DOB, where he works, If he is married, any child, name of his grandchild, who is paying for the ticket, when she's expecting him, date, how many days he is gonna be staying and her address in london. What's your view about these Bro's... If your friends mum answered all questions correctly in line with the visa application...mostly likely visa will be issued. |

Let me know what you think. Everything looks ok but if your friend can get a Letter from his Finance dept. stating how much has been paid in tax in the last 6 months will be good. |

Remove d property coy from my application or get d necessary documentation? Semilorepupo: Hello Pple, pls I need ur advise as per UK re application. I was refused a 6mnths Visit visa last week despite I have travelled to d US befr and didn't exceed 3weeks. I work in a company and earn 130k monthly after tax deductions. I submitted offer letter, pay slip bank statement and every other thing related to my work including my ID card. My acc balance is approximately 1.7million. I also stated in my form that I work as a freelance for a property firm which I didn't submit any documentation regarding that because I felt since it's just a freelance job. And I don't even have any documentation to bck that up we all no what freelancing means. But to my surprise I was denied a visa because d consuler felt der was no evidence backing that up. I intend to apply as soon as possible but I need guidelines pls. God bless u all. My observation as you can also see in the refusal letter: 1. Why include an employment/other source of income that you dont have documented evidence 2. No documents to support the 500 pounds you earn monthly from Properties and Rent. 3. You stated that 50% of your monthly income go for family upkeep 4. Your hotel booking has been cancelled Please allow some time before you re-apply especially if you can correct the above issues |

Invitation docs from his Mother in UK Application form International Passport Application fee & Return courier receipt Introduction letter from company Offer of employment letter Salary review letter Recommendation letter Payslipz ID card Consent letter from wife Marriage Certificate Birth Certificate and sons' Fathers' death Certificate Mothers' affidavit of change of name, since she re-married a british citizen in 1986 and the man gave her a Muslim name to add with the existing names. Bank statement. ( Salary Acct) 640k balance Family pictures and wedding pics. No lodgement at all, just salaries.
Please let us know what other docs we might need.
Finally what documents do we need to photocopy??
Justwise, frontpageL, worry..., where is iblaw and ogreen? The only thing outstanding is evidence of tax payment as an employee and the listed document thats not necessary is the Consent Letter from Wife. Unfortunately you didnt state how much you earn monthly and how much you intend to spent on this trip...keep your expenses low and reasonable as much as you can...all depends on how much you earn Take a copy of all documents along and if not necessary, keep copies in a personal file for future reference purpose. Best of luck |

If you already have your visa go to KLM/Air France or Lufthansa website, input your proposed travel dates and will will have an idea of cost of flight. Note: Book online get booking code and go pay in airline office, dont pay online otherwise your bank will charge you crazy exchange rate but if you take booking code and fare in dollar to airline office, N200/$ will be used as thats the CBN rate for foreign airlines. |
