Fellow Alumni,

*On such a full sea are we now afloat*.

We have learned that the land on which our sports field stands—an integral part of our collective heritage—has been bequeathed to a real estate company for commercial development. This decision was taken without consultation with the alumni body, and it threatens to diminish the very essence of our alma mater.

FGC Kano should be expanding, not shrinking. It should be improving, nurturing knowledge, and honing proficiency in sports to excellence—not surrendering its grounds to commercial interests. A massive mixed‑use development encroaching on the school, blocking its view, and reducing its space is detrimental to academic growth and wholly unnecessary.

Over the past 30 years, we as alumni have invested *Billions of Naira* into the school without asking for anything in return. Through the newly registered *FGCKOSA Foundation*, we have the capacity to raise *Billions of Naira more* in the coming years to perpetuate the legacy of FGC Kano and pursue academic excellence.

*And we must take the current when it serves, or lose our ventures*.

We must now take up this fight remembering our pledge in our school song which we gallantly sang for years: *“I vow to revere and thee adore.”*

This is the moment to prove that we are truly *Better Together*. From this day forward, all Chapter activities, all Class activities, and all FGCKOSA groups must channel their efforts and resources toward winning this battle for our school. Every kobo, every contact, every social media post, every phone call, every email—whatever you have, put it in!

All Chapters, Class groups, every FGCKOSA sub group, are to use this advert as their DP on all social media they have. All members are requested to use it at least for today. Our hashtag _*#SaveFGCKano*_ must trend today. Use it at every opportunity. Where possible tag:
The President FRN
The Senate President
The Speaker House of Reps
Minister of Education
Minister of State for Education
ICRC, EFCC, and ICPC

We must win this fight. There is no other acceptable outcome. Our cause is just. Our cause is right.

The Federal Government established the Unity Schools to bind Nigerians together, to create a world where children from every corner of the nation could mingle freely and grow to call one another family. Today, I am proud to see Nigerians united in defense of a school located in the core north. This is the dream of our founding fathers beginning to take shape.

But if we lose this fight, we will have failed to fulfill the greater aspect of that dream—that the needs of the collective must outweigh the greed of a few. For what else can you call an attempt to reduce a school instead of expanding it?

We cannot lose this fight. We will not lose this fight.
