Good afternoon sirs and mas. I greet everybody.

I'm a medical doctor working in a federal hospital.

I have good money in my account and I'm married. I have someone who is ready to invite me from Dublin.

How easy is it getting a visit visa to Ireland?

Thank you.

Important things to note:

The person inviting you; what is their status in Ireland, how did they get that status and what is their standing with the garda office ?

The funds you have, do you have solid proof for all funds and are the funds enough to fund the travel plans and more than enough for the family while away and when you return ?

How strong is your proof of ties to Nigeria?

How strong or genuine is your travelling intentions?

Once you can satisfy all these correctly then you should be alright.

All the best

Hello everyone, good day. Urgent question that needs an urgent answer! A friend of mine got admission to study in Dublin for February 2022, he’s about to commit by paying tuition but he’s concerned and would like to know if there will be a drug test in the later stages as he smokes marijuana. Please help with answers! Thanks

At the moment, Ireland does not conduct medical test on students.

Within the last 1 month, there have been reports of students getting visa Bans.

Examples include but not limited to the following circumstances:

The 1st Applicant conveniently forgot to declare she had a previous Irish refusal and 3 UK refusals not only that, the visa office was unable to verify the Bank statement they provided .

The 2nd applicant on the other hand presented fake/ unverifiable Business registration documents as proof of their sponsors employment and also an unverifiable bank statement.

Lessons to students/ potential Ireland applicants:
Try as much as possible to present genuine documents in support of your application. Do not assume the visa office or Embassy won't verify, you cannot be smarter than technology and trained officials.

Henceforth, we @icastravels will try as much as possible to verify all financial documents of both the main applicant and sponsor before even accepting to work with you on either your admissions or visa processing.

This is a very sad development but then #wemove.

Subject to my last post above, Please let me know which of the following schools you would want to speak to at the virtual session which most likely will hold on Thursday 28th of October or Tuesday 2nd November by filling this google form:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdI3xP2sronfg3VMjNKVXLCHO8z-6q_pod2QxPD_hkLvuS6UQ/viewform?usp=pp_url

The virtual session is organised so you can ask the International school Representatives questions on admission requirements, visa requirements and more importantly even speak to fellow NAIRALANDERS currently studying or living in Ireland on life and job prospects in the REPUBLIC OF IRELAND * This is strictly an Irish thread for those intending to study in ireland, please do not come with questions on the UK (Ireland ain't part of the UK), Ukraine etc. Also, this is not the meeting to ask about processing work permit from Nigeria ; this is strictly for Studies leading to work permit or settling in Ireland.

The schools listed on the form are:

NCI
Griffith College
DBS
LIT
DCU
DKIT
UCC
ULimerick
TUDublin

Please house, i want to appeal and my school resumed today, is it possible? What do i need to know before appealing, other than tackling the reason for refusal and evidence to backup my claims if need be. Again i didn't get my bank statement back, do i need to print another in the appeal?

Get a letter from your school confirming you can start lectures virtually.

If that can't be provided, confirm with the school if you can get an offer for Jan 2022 and use that to appeal.

Yes new bank statement may be required depending on what the reasons for the refusal were.

Please does Irish Embassy request for international passport if an appeal has been rejected?

I just got an email from then, they didn't say if it was approved or rejected, but they said I should send my passport to the embassy along side a return return courier bag.

Please, is it good news?

I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks

Congrats visa has been approved.

Hey Guys

I am not new to this thread but i have been away from it for sometime. I am resident in Ireland and considering bringing my wife to Ireland on a study visa for her masters. I am a bit clueless on how to navigate the aspect of her intent to return to nigeria after her study (in her SOP) considering i am already resident here.
Any ideas will be appreciated. I am hoping to get her application in before the end of the month.

Many thanks @ICaSNG

Ireland doesn't request for Intent to return rather the applicant needs to clearly state their future aspirations . That is what you should concentrate on more. All the best.

Please help a brother with these questions.

Is IELTS a requirement for visa application and any school with less than 10k euro tuition fee for masters program? Also considering the high rate of school fees, what is the possibility of securing job to pay the remaining school fees and living expenses?

IELTS Academic or General, PTE, Toefl or (Duolingo is acceptable at till January 2022)

Check MTU Cork or Waterford institute of Tech for very affordable Masters program for Sept 2022.

Finally, most schools require full Tuition fee payment before visa application.

I have been a silent follower of this thread and I must say that all the information anyone needs regarding Irish study is here! I applied for visa second week of July and by God's grace my visa was approved recently. Please if you are new to this thread, plan to read through from page 1 to the current page. It may appear stressful, but I tell you, it contains a lot of credible information as regards how to go about your application. So make out time to look through this thread as I feel every possible question has been covered.

I want to also mention that it is important one learns to be proactive about his/her application. If you have applied, don't wait for notification by email, call or sms before you begin checking the status of your application online. Weekly decisions are released every month here: https://www.dfa.ie/irish-embassy/nigeria/our-services/visas/weeklydecisionreports and sometimes you may not even get an email or phone call when your visa is out. So it is your duty to monitor and know when it is released and work towards getting your documents back.

For those applying for visa, please ensure you have every document mentioned for your visa type in hand. And make extra two copies of each. Also arrange them in order to avoid confusion when submitting. I was fortunate to have one of the staff at the VFs office help me, it was a lot of documents to handle at once, so better arrange them separately before going as some of them don't have patience to wait once it's your turn. Also include as much certifications or awards as you can as supporting documents in your application. Other information as regards what to submit on this thread are true. But still check this site: https://www.irishimmigration.ie/coming-to-study-in-ireland/what-are-my-study-visa-options/how-to-apply-for-long-term-study-visa/ . And please don't lie in your application. Best bet to be honest!

Above all else, after submitting last month, it was prayer season. Prayers work! Pray about it to the God you believe in.

I want to specially thank ICasNg and every other person who has made useful contributions to this thread. God bless you all and please say a prayer for me as I begin this next phase of my life. I wish everyone still applying or expecting a decision success in their endeavors!

God is GREAT indeed! Congratulations. wishing you and everyone going to Ireland success

Sir, may I appeal that you not make your stand look as confusing to the public.
Your organization must have participated in the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development Economic Sustainability Plan, as this is a major requirement to be enlisted as a firm to be serviced by beneficiaries for a period of three(3) months.

The ministry’s director of enterprise development and promotion department must have been in touch with your director/owner.
Do well to accommodate and help lend necessary assistance to youths sent to your organization.
Thanking you for your unwavering and patriotic support.

Yours faithfully,
For; Federal Ministry of Youth and Sport Development.

Please those who have gotten their visa, how do you plan on getting Forex from the banks. One of the requirements is that you need a return ticket to access forex. Anyway around this?

Banks require a return ticket before they can sell FX and I think max amount is 4000 USD so weigh out cost implications of a return ticket well. Futhermore, if you don't intend using the return ticket make sure the ticket is refundable.

Hello everyone,
Pls I need help with my cousin's application to Ireland. His visa application was refused and he was asked to provide more documents for his appeal.
His mum in the Uk paid his school fees from her bank account and they requested for her ID and receipts from the bank,. But the concern we have is that his mum is not his sponsor, his uncle is the sponsor (as he has a more funded account than his mum). Would it be an issue that his mum paid his fees but cannot sponsors him?

thank you for your suggestions

Both people involved are sponsors - all docs required of sponsors must be presented by both parties

2 people actually came to my office that they have been placed in my Organisation as Interns. 5 people were sent to my office without any Ministry notifying me. I told those who came that this is another scheme by the govt to steal money or divert funds, if they are paying you for the 3 months then its fine.

Only in Nigeria will you get interns from FG without a notice.

NCI - January 2022
Griffith college - Information and Network security - Feb 2022
DBS -

For September 2022 there will definitely be more options including UCD; Trinity, ULimerick, CIT etc.

Average tuition is 13,000 euros ; maybe lesser depending on discounts available or offered by the schools.

@ICaSNg and others,
Please what is the process for Irish citizen children who want to undergo their undergraduate programs in Ireland? Is NECO result okay or WAEC must be provided? Do they need to write an English test too? We are working towards January 2022 since the join family visa was refused.
Kindly assist

Hi,

Either NECO, WAEC or GCSE is acceptable as Irish citizens do not need to apply for visas from Nigeria. You should however try applying for September 2021 as undergraduate programs are mostly available in September.

For January/ feb 2022 , to the best of my knowledge only Griffith will be available for undergraduate entry programs.
