How many food you wan carry? food wey boiz de wait make you land, so dem go devour?

I don drop info on part time job over and over again, but I go recap.

part time job de everywhere, but the bigger the city, the more easier e go de for you to catch am. if city small, competition go high for the small jobs wey de there among student. The job self go be job wey no go require language. Most foreign student de do jobs like letter posting, washing plate, cleaning etc.

If you want professional job, then you gats to equip yourself with their native language, but as an english speaker, the lang go hard to learn but its possible sha.

for my honest opinion, Finland no be place wey you go reach your highest potentials, the language na a huge set back, and the country de very homogenous, so employment for foreigners de low, worst for my naija peeps.

as you all know education na free here, their population de educated, many of them de study for the fun of it self, since na free. Employer go prefer their own pikin before EU citizens then others (naijas, vietnamese, pakis, other nationals).

SO my bro, make you study ground as soon as you come here, the system fit frustrate you, or liberate you. it depends on you. But FI no be a country wey a black man go stay and feel comfortable. Na the honest truth I give you so #myOpinion#

Hei!, Missa sina asut?

Ice hw's d general life there?? Which skul did u get into?? And are u adapting/considering getting a residence permit after graduation. U can also throw little light on one or two issues u would like us to have in mind and not overlook. Moving to Finland will actually be a big decision for most of us here and we need to get the facts right to convince our peepz a'home dat we'r doin the right thing u knw 9ja na grin ..I'm planning on coming for my M.sc

Its nice. And am adapting. Concerning 'one or two issues' , if you read the early parts of the thread, dahonnestboss really shed light into all kinds of issues relating to permit, work etc.

Personally, i think its a good place esp for studies so its a risk worth taking.

Justcul: @iceberg54,
Can u pls share ur interview experience on finland study visa (interview questions)?

With good preparation, is 92 score and above achievable in TOEFL ibt?

The interview na simple thing. Questions about yourself, study, funding, about Finland etc. Like i said earlier, this shall be discussed at the right time. Lets focus on getting admission first. The interview is not an issue, so don't even think about it as an hurdle.

With GOOD preparation, 100 score and above is achievable. Once u r familiar with the question types and u practice well, u r good to go. But practice well o especially listening and writing. Check sample writing topics, the solution and see how they are graded. You will what exactly they want.

Those Aalto guys re sayin they want a very good bachelor degree from a reputable university. Wat I dnt get is How good they mean. Nd if dey consider nigerian federal schools as reputable?

No mind them jare. Their wahala is too much. You are eligible to apply as long as u r a university graduate.

Bunmiemich: @Iceberg54, thanks so much for ur contribution on here wch is much needed as the next admission session wld soon be open. My question is this, wat do you think about Aalto University and University of Helsinki, re they a little easy to get into cos I intend 2 apply into both: Network n Services @UH and Telecommunication Engr @Aalto. Secondly how soon do you think I should write my IELTS exam, looking at either 21st Nov or 7thDec 2 give me enough time 2 prepare, hope it isn't 2 late. Thanks so much bro

The two are good schools. You just apply to the 2 and hope u r admitted to at least one. I think you should your IELTS asap. 21st Nov is OK. Its still a long way to go so you have enough time to prepare.

There is no specific cgpa requirement. Competition is keen like u've said, but there's no harm in trying.

Its like statement of purpose. Your interests, strengths, career plans, why u chose the school, why you think you should be selected and other stuffs sha.
Type 'Sample Motivation Letter' in google. you will see hundreds of samples.

I dont think it is required for BSC.

Representa!! please would like you to include the steps you took when applying for the M.sc program...... did u do any language program before u started your course or its totally in english, also the question of overcoming ''vo-attack'' lol grin grin as i do read on canada and usa thread please include ur experience oo(make we no fear too much wen d time reach)..............this and many more we would like to know....... God bless u....God bless Finland!

Bros, no fear o. Their visa interview is pretty straightforward. Just be consistent. That shouldn't bother you now. Scale the first hurdle and secure admission first. Just bear in mind that you will need 6720 euros to be in your account for the entire visa application period (which could be up to 3 months sometimes). So even if you are going to borrow it, be prepared to leave it there for that period. Because they will confirm from your bank and will also ask you to send another statement approximately one month after applying. So they will see the trend of activities on the account. Other complexities will be discussed when the time comes. For now, secure admission.

FOR MASTERS:
-Identify the school(s) you wanna apply to, their admission requirements, deadline, TOEFL/IELTS cut-off etc. and if they will be accepting applications directly or through UAF.

-Write TOEFL/IELTS: If you have not done so already, you should be preparing to that now. Try to beat the cut-off of the schools. If not, you application might not even be processed at all.

-Then prepare all your documents, transcripts, Motivation letter etc. Write a good motivation letter. They attach a lot of importance to it.

-When application period opens, apply online, then send other documents by post.

-In Finnish schools, there are International Masters Programs. These programs are entirely taught in English. Other masters programs may be taught in finnish. But most are taught in english. When you check the course description on their site, they will always include Language of instruction. So make sure you apply for the ones taught in English.

-That's all. Pray if you believe in prayers. Cos masters admission is pretty competitive. They don't pick too many people. Some departments pick as low as 10 sometimes (throughout the world o). So you are advised to apply to up to 3 schools to improve your chances.

Cheers!

Ok.. TOFEL, will give it some thoughts and get to find out about their exam centres. Do you by chance have any preparatory notes that could help?

Their is a preparatory material on their site. U can download it. It simulates the exact exam environment. But it wont be sufficient. U can buy Barron's Toefl textbook. Its very okay.
