gamaliel9: You are so much on point....This is where the brains are beat into techniques and tactics...psychological maturity is built....bones mature...legs that last in high tempo for 120 minutes are formed...this is selection ground for national team...
We have five stars in u17...it would have been a different ball game for u20/21...we would have had a assemblage of talent... We have continued to underrate the competition and importance of the U20/21 and we have continued to struggle at that age grade and this in turn has had its own negative effect in terms of churning out quality players for the Super Eagles. The Europeans do not joke with their U21 Teams. |

daveP: All over this Window of friendlies, I see the Europeans serious with their u20s and u21 in very serious friendlies with American teams and I wonder what is happening to Africa. Not even Nigeria can just get serious for once and do something to ball with these guys before we start hearing the next Messi and Ronaldo from these teams? Nawa o. These are countries that recognize that fact that the future of their senior national teams lies in the strength and quality of their U20/21 teams. |

Late Stephen keshi really believed in him and some other home groomed players. I have known Okechukwu Uchebo right from his early days at Enugu Rangers. He featured prominently at the 2009 AYC but he didn't make the WYC team. Odion Ighalo and Danny Uchechi kept him out of the team. He has never been much of a talented player. Honestly I didn't know what Keshi saw in him. |

Rockyrascal: Uchebo?
Nigeria’s topflight football league is again ready to receive a Nigerian international who plied his trade offshore. The ongoing transfer window has seen interest from Super Eagles 2014 World Cup star Michael Uchebo who is currently linked with a potential move to Aiteo Cup title holders, Rangers Int’l FC just a few days after Juwon Oshaniwa penned a deal with Akwa United ahead of the start of 2018/2019 season. According to reports, Uchebo is believed to have agreed personal terms with Rangers Int’l with an announcement due in the days to come. The 28-year old forward struggled to keep his career afloat since moving to Europe with the recent problem he had with Portuguese side Boavista, where he was ostracized from the team and wasn’t paid for months, having joined the Club back in 2014 from Belgian club Cercle Brugge before his release in June 2017. Uchebo has featured for Nigeria at the Under-20 and Under-23 levels before being handed a call-up by late Stephen Keshi for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. The NPFL’s attraction to Nigerians abroad might be a glimmer of hope for the league as the players would bring a level of international experience to their prospective clubs. Is it not better than they going to likes of Mongolia, Indonesia or Vietnam? |

Curtisaxel7: My people perish for lack of knowledge.
"Judas" is actually the same name as "Judah". They both mean " Praise ". So if you can name your son " Praise", you can as well name him "Judas".
That the betrayer of Jesus happened to be named " Judas" doesn't make the name bad. There have been other people named Judas who achieved great sucess and lived lives of righteousness. An example is the Jewish hero Judas Maccabeus who led the revolt against the pagan Greek Emperor Antiochus. (forgive the history lesson).
I've seen people named "Blessing" die in poverty, people named "Wisdom" do very stupid things....the list is endless. At the end of the day what matters is our hardwork, talent and maybe a bit of luck. Our names are just names. Nothing more. Like Shakespeare said "a rose, called by any other name, will still smell as sweet". I don't so much believe in those "names following people thing" . Even though the meaning of my English name is Rock and I ended up in a profession that studies Rocks. However, one thing I know is there are certain names that people would not want to be associated with like I mentioned Judas and Hitler. Forget this thing u are saying I know you will not dare name your son Judas or Hitler. |

komekn: It's does not mean that.
Please indulge me open up your mind read the journal the links there. And your view faced with scientific substantive research will probably change.
The American scientific journal has been around for near 150 years with contributors such as Einstein. So it quite reputable. There are many other journal with published research on the subject. I have read that journal and a couple of others. Scientifically speaking, a system or procedure that has a reliability rating of 90% is very reliable and so very acceptable. Until proven otherwise MRI results for cubing of age cheating is very reliable and FIFA and the entire football community will continue to accept the ages of players that have gone through this scanning process. |

ChrisKels: But wetin dey prompt all this kind yeye names nah You know this African belief that names follow people. An Ijaw man will name his son "Shell" or "Chevron" so that when he grows up he will eventually work with Shell or Chevron. Another one gives his son "Manager" so that he will eventually become a Manager. The other one gave his son "Government" so that he will be in Government. Just like the story Joseph shared about the guy that bears "Money". That father wanted him to have plenty of money when he grows up. But do these things actually play out? Like the guy I saw that bears the name "Giant" happens to be the shortest and skinniest member of the crew. |

komekn: Don't think it's a matter to thank God.
Like has been said multiple times here. The MRI scan is indicative not conclusive.
Abuchi Obinwa born in the USA failed a NFF administered MRI scan when he was 16 round about the same period Success would have had his own test . The NFF failed or rather refused to submit the test results for independent inspection. Why ❓ anybodies guess.
The test is flawed by the baseline data used to make deductions. An excerpt from the Scientific American journal which is high standing academic journal highlights the problem.
Meanwhile, subsequent work also throws more cold water on the science of these wrist scans: One study on 86 young male Ghanaian players concluded, “There was no significant correlation between the chronological age and the degree of fusion.”
https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/dear-fifa-there-is-no-scientific-test-to-prevent-age-fraud/
However, the reality is that the alternatives are not in themselves practical and or viable. It's essentially the most cost effective and efficient system we have for now. Just be aware it's not conclusive but indicative so it can be beaten.
The final word, without AUTOMATIC BIRTH DATA CAPTURE there will be age cheating. From Brazil, Peru, Africa, Asia, etc, etc See, for a boy who is truly 16 to fail the test it simply means a boy who is 18 and above stands little or no chance. It is that simple. We have had this argument in cycles over and over again. Isaac Success is 22. No controversy. |
