ChrisKels: Are these African names? Golkit, Polit, Gomwalk, Plangdes, Nandes, Pankyes Lukyes, Chung, Weng, Dung, Kim etc? Man these guy's history is worth reading.
When u hear names with "gb, kp, kw, nd, nw et al, for instance Gbajabiamila, Pogba, Angban, Drogba, Ndidi, Chikwe, Nwamkpa, Olada(k)po et al, u go know say u dey West Africa. Dat said, painfully I dont kno many native hausa names, too bad they threw away everything for the Arab culture. Beats me how person name go be Alhassan ibrahim, Musa Mohammed et al, even some yeye igbos dun dey adopt such craziness where person name go be Luke Moses, Ezekiel John. I come dey wonder why people aint proud of their identity. We too like foreign things I swear. I avnt really noticed that with d Yoruba nation. A Yoruba go everly put a Yoruba name next to his either Christian or Muslim name, it was like that with igbos till this brainwashed indomie generation igbo parents came I know a good number of Yorubas that bear both names as English names. Although u right ,they are actually rare compared to most other Nigerian ethnic group. Meanwhile come to Niger-Delta where you will see names like: Shell Manager, Chevron Giant etc. |

Clementoke: How Bafana Can Qualify For AFCON 2019…
By Soccer Laduma
Bafana Bafana face Nigeria this weekend in a crucial African Cup of Nations qualifier, with Stuart Baxter’s side knowing exactly what they need to do to reach the showpiece in Cameroon. As things stand, Bafana sit in second place on the Group E log with eight points from four games and two matches to play. As things stand they are the only unbeaten team in the group but will have been disappointed to drop points against Libya at home and Seychelles away. That being said, Baxter’s side could leapfrog Nigeria and book their place in Cameroon on Saturday afternoon if they’re able to beat the current log leaders at FNB Stadium, with 11 points meaning that neither Libya nor Seychelles will be able to catch them. Even a draw could be enough for Bafana if Seychelles manage to avoid defeat at home against Libya, and a shock win for Seychelles would mean that even a loss for Bafana in Johannesburg would see them qualify ahead of the Libyans. However, with Libya expected to at least get a point at Stade Linite, anything less than victory will see the group go down to the final game, with Bafana facing Libya in March for a spot at Cameroon 2019. Simply put, if Bafana don’t lose either of their final two games then they will be off to the AFCON next year, but a defeat in either game could leave them requiring favours from elsewhere. In short, it’s all in their own hands. They will lose both games |

komekn: Don't think it's an issue or advise.
Where do a large percentage of Ireland players come from ❓
Nigeria is on a higher level than Ireland even without FIFA rankings.
It's a " NO BRAINER " There are Nigerians that have represented Countries as low as Sudan, Benin and Togo not to talk of Ireland. An average Nigerian origin player would jump at that opportunity. I say it again that he has good advisers. |

gamaliel9: CAF has started again...they did this at under 17....now at under 20....senior world cup qualifiers..the same thing will happen...anyway i hope two will come out of this group? No-no-no. This is not any qualifiers. It is just a competition for WAFU member nations to prepare their teams adequately for the AYC. 5 out of the 8 teams to participate at the AYC are under WAFU |

komekn: Very apt see quote; "Chuks is a bit like Yaya Toure - he has body power and good technique," Wenger told Arsenal's official website.
Wenger likened the attacking midfielder to Yaya Toure back in 2011, but after just one appearance and the offer of a trial with Barcelona (which he rejected), Aneke was released in 2014.
So what happened a two year injury break after going to Belguim.
Good managers don't wait for a player to blow before making the move for him. Or for other to recognise him.
He is outstanding in his league and club and the only reason he is not in the championship and being looked at in the EPL is because his club BLATANTLY REFUSED to let him go.
For what he does AM or SS can't see anybody in the SE that's better. Although in my opinion he seems to lack pace.

Mickael2: So who and who will now be in the main team? When we come for to the Olympics team I think Orji Okonkwo(the one in Bologna) deserves a look in as well Being in the Olympics team does not mean a payer cannot be in the SE. Sir Michael2 na u dey ask this kine kwession? Orji Okonkwo and Kingsley Michael are two other Olympics prospects. |

Mickael2: Oga! Oga! Oshimen is in which club again? Odey is starting for his team now in the Europa League against Bayern Leverkusen, do you think that is beans? Chukwueze just played his first match for Villarreal B, since he has been playing for the team B. Odey deserves it, his claim is reinforced by the fact that he has actually been performing for years now, he cannot force buyers to come, but he has scored everywhere he has played. I am not saying he must be invited but saying that he is playing at a low club when we invited Oshimen and Chukwueze is hypocritical Odey, Chukwueze, Osimhen, Kalu, Onyekuru, Awoniyi. That makes for a very hot Olympics team strike force |

Curtisaxel7: Senegal beat Poland with the 4-4-2 formation at the last World cup.
It's all about knowing what works for you. Just like we beat Iceland with a 3-5-2. When u play on the African continent especially an away game a robust midfield with 5 players is always safer. In which case u will field a number 10. Bros no need arguing this thing further. Rohr is most comfortable with 4-5-1 or 4-3-3 and will play Iheanacho as a number 10 if Iwobi is out injured. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Icon4s(m): 10:40pm On Nov 07, 2018 |
Curtisaxel7: Well who says we must play with a 10?
A good tactician chooses the best formation to suit his available resources. So, for me, if Iwobi is out, no more no. 10. Simple and short. Bros, national teams rarely play 4-4-2 these days. It is mainly 4-5-1(or its variants) or 4-3-3 and any of these will require a number 10 even if u play 3-4-3 or 3-5-2. In the absence of Mikel and Iwobi, Iheanacho can step into the number 10 position. Though it is not his ideal position but he has to if he needs to. |

gamaliel9: Ebiede hum....the best i watched of him was an Olympic qualifier against Uganda..and Clemens Westerhof was Ugandan s coach and we needed four goals to qualify.....Pius Ikedia saved us that day..They had to give Westerhof red card for us to score the fourth goal oooo...Ebiede was classic in this game..he even scored twice..i think so..after that...the end of Ebiede Firstly that game was against Zimbabwe and not Uganda. It was a 2000 Olympic games qualifier. Emmanuel Ebiede was talented no doubt but James Obiorah was ahead of him in the pecking order. Obiorah had a senior international goal and was part of the 2002 WC team. While Ebiede had none of these. |

Curtisaxel7: I prefer we play without a 10.
Maybe a flat 4-4-2 with Musa pairing Success up front.
Iheanacho as a 10= recipe for disaster. You would rather switch to a 4-4-2. That simply tells us that in that kind of situation if we must play a number 10, Iheanacho it is. Just like in the Seychelles game where both Mikel and Iwobi were absent. |
