Curtisaxel7: Kayode was signed based on his exploits for Austria Wetin (If I spelt it correctly), he was expected to replicate that form in the premier league.
It appears however, that he failed to impress the Man City trainers at close range. You can't rule out visa and work permit issues as well. So now, based on what exploit are Marseille, Juventus or Villarreal buying Agu? And how do u know Kayode failed to impress ManCity trainers at close range? They never hand plans for him in the EPL. As they were announcing his purchase they were announcing his loan transfer. So tell me something else. |

Curtisaxel7: Loan? Agu is around 24-25 years if I'm not mistaken. At that age a player should be at the peak of his career or at least have established himself as a force to reckon with. Sadly, Agu has done neither.
No big club signs a player above the 24-25 age bracket with the intention to send him on loan. You can't teach an old dog new tricks. How Old was Kayode when ManCity bought him and sent him on loan immediately? |

charlesemeka85: Sky Sports pundit Tony Cascarino believes the duo of Mesut Ozil and Henrikh Mkhitaryan will not have long term future at Arsenal under Unai Emery but sees Nigeria international Alex Iwobi suiting the playing style of the new Gunners' head coach and deserves more playing opportunities.
Iwobi provided the assist for striker Alexandre Lacazette in the 1-1 draw against Liverpool on Saturday evening with eight minutes left in the game. He had replaced Mkhitaryan in the 68th minute.
Cascarino pointed to the seemingly lack of physical attributes of both players as to why they will not fit in to the Spaniard's style of football.
"Arsenal feel like a completely different club under Unai Emery and one of the main reasons for that is that the fans believe in the team now," Cascarino wrote in the Times.
"Under Emery, they have won more points from losing positions than any other team, so the fans stay with the players.
"But I cannot see how Emery can keep both Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Mesut özil in his team, given that power and tempo seem so important to the way he wants to play. Alex Iwobi has flourished under him and he deserves a starting place."
Iwobi is in line to feature for the Gunners when they take on Sporting CP in the Europa League on Thursday. For me, Iwobi deserves cementing a place in Arsenal's first 11 either as an AM or a Winger. My worry still remains his shyness in front of goal. If Iwobi can start scoring goals in addition to his assists, he should be rubbing shoulders with likes of Edin Hazard by now. |

25milla? Which NPFL clubs would survive on such a sum?
I hear someone say that they are lucky and what else I'm I expecting. Lol.
I hope the Insurance is intact sha!
Welcome back Bendel!! Popc can talk about this club back in days Mehn.... That N25M was just a gift for the team's return to the Premier league and not for OPEX. Which ever account it is coming from whether Obaseki's or state's na dem know. That aside, I am a witness to the Rebranding of the Benin Arsenal Club by the Godwin Obaseki Government. Plus the Government is currently carrying out massive renovation work on the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium (Home venue of the Club). I do not know for exact the extent of work presently but I was pleased with what I saw 2 months back when I passed by the stadium. I just hope it will be ready before the next season kicks off. |

UP BENDEL!!! The NPFL is back to the Ancient Kingdom of Benin! RALPH OKHIRIA, Benin City After dropping from the Nigerian elite soccer league, for over a decade, Bendel Insurance Football Club, Benin City on Monday, made a historic return to the Premier League with a 2-1 defeat of 3SC Football Club, Ibadan. The highly anticipated make-or-mar encounter, between both teams, was concluded on Monday morning at the University of Benin Sports Complex, Benin City, Edo State, after a tension-soaked Sunday afternoon encounter that was postponed due to bad weather. With the 2-1 win, the Edo Arsenal as Bendel Insurance are fondly called, has secured the 3 points it needed to top the NNL Table and book a place in the 2018/19 NPFL season. Receiving the team at the Government House on Monday, a visibly-elated Governor Obaseki congratulated the management and players of Bendel Insurance Football Club for defeating 3SC FC of Ibadan to proceed to the Nigeria Premier League. Obaseki said the victory was another fulfilment of his administration’s promise to Edo people and residents. “My joy knows no bound because of what you have done today. I congratulate you and congratulate myself. I say this because it is another promise kept. We promised Edo people that we would bring Bendel Insurance to its lofty status which we all will be proud off and make sure they go on to play in the Premier league,” the governor said. He described the Deputy Governor of the State, Hon. Philip Shaibu who led the team to his office as the father of the New Bendel Insurance FC and commended him for the giant strides he made in rebranding the club. “We have built a team and have a machinery that will win the premier league, I am giving the club the sum of N25 million to show how grateful we are as a government,” Obaseki said. https://newnigeriannewspaper.com/[/quote] |

TheGoodJoe: I say Solanke stays to the end of the season. Master the high intensity system of Klopp and then leave at the start of the new season to a club he will get opportunity. From the look of it, he is not a Klopp kind of player but he can learn from the lessons which will make him a better player. Your last sentence is a vital point. You need to play yourself into the coach's philosophy else u will be kept out. |

Danielnino00: Chief...u know too well that training and playing an official game aren't the same thing... Why did Musa lost his starting spot in the team in d first place? Why is Kalu currently ahead of Simeon in the team? Why was Awazeim dropped from.the list??
Its all due to lack of playing time....it affects players performance like you know it...Balogun display against Libya wasn't convincing enough and he was partly to blame for Libya's second goal...
We have Omeruo who is playing regularly now...why not start him? Firstly, Ahmed Musa had never been a starter in the SE. He started being a starter after the Iceland game. Secondly, it is more convenient for a coach to alter the forwards line than to alter a CB pairing. U don't do that when u are to face the toughest opposition in ur group. Awaziem is not a regular for the SE so he being in or out makes no difference to the balance and dynamics of the team. On the Libya game, most times it requires for a defender or opposing player to make a mistake for a goal to be scored. I cannot in particular blame Balogun for any of those goals. Shits happen in football. |

Danielnino00: Good lineup. .But there's really no need for a 3-5-2 IMO.. Balogun doesn't have to start cus he is match rusty.. Starting Omeruo and Ekong with him won't prevent him from performing poorly... it was evident against Libya. What makes you think Balogun is match rusty? Has he been out due to injury? Fact that a player does not get regular play time in club games does not mean he doesn't kick ball at all in training. As long as Balogun is fit, he will start with Ekong at that CB. And yes, Rohr is not likely to play a 3-5-2 formation. |

We are proud of the 'boy'. He has played his way into Arsenal's starting 11.And one very important thing is he has transformed his Arsenal form into the SE as seen against the Libya double header. |

ChrisKels: Icon4s why bench ur best player(Iwobi) in a match so important? Emery wanted to exploit Mkhi's knowledge of Klopp's tactics. Iwobi's intro actually made the difference. He has made another bold statement for himself as a key member of the squad. |
