Your own was that you never liked Ighalo from the very beginning.
He never Impressed.

I never could have been Happy with a Super Eagles CF that scored only 3 competitive goals in 3 years. Tell me you were satisfied with Ighalo's barren run.

2 other strikers I am not happy with are Brown Ideye and Anthony Ujah. And for no other reasons than their performances.

I can not and will not defend mediocrity.

Let these players start performing and they enter my good books. That's all.

And look at this pic below.... Look at the Joy on Nacho's face for Ighalo's Hattrick goal. Gosh!!! This is what I mean by a team. This is a lad who wants to play so bad but puts the Joy and success of the team first before personal interests.

I am not just happy Ighalo is truly back as he showed already in Uyo with that Hattrick but I am smiling looking at his goals stats in the GWG again. It is no longer depressing. It now reads 10 goals and 2 assists in 25 appearances

The Kung Fu Master have finally executed his Shadow kicks and Snake-in-the-monkey shadow techniques and translated them into goals. And we hope this continues as this will allow youngsters like Nacho and Success continue to grow into their future roles as the team's attacking arrowheads. But for now, they play back up to the main striker, Iggy and happily so.

This is what we want for the team. Positive results and not barrenness.
Wait I don't understand the kind of comments I am reading from some people saying people criticised Ighalo because of Iheanacho.

I am one of those that criticized Ighalo and it was simply due to his barren run. No where near "because of Iheanacho". I don't know how a player will continue to hit blank and you expected well meaning Nigerians not to criticise him. I have seen Super Eagles strikers come and go and there is no way I would have been satisfied with Ighalo's poor run of form.

The singular reason why Rohr kept faith with him was because there are no natural number 9 options. If Rohr had better options than he currently has Ighalo would have long been relegated to the bench. Rohr simply made use of what was available to him.

For those shouting Ighalo is back, me I will say this is the first time he has arrived in the GWG.

My jaw dropped when I say the replay of that goal. Aina practically avoided the ball like a plague. Very bad bad blunder. The only positive I can take is that he's now at Torino: He can get better playing top football week in week out. Though I must add, asides that error he wasn't bad.
I was also shocked about Aina's ball watching there .

Stop being sentimental, tactical substitutions are made to counter the opposition threat which was what the Libyan coach did and what did your coach do? If he can't react in the first half OK but what about the second half when libya made another change, some players were getting tired so is it a sin to bring in fresh players?
Ok, let me chip in here.

When you make substitutions it can either make or mar you.

When you are leading in a game it is usually safer to maintain the shape that got you that lead.

A team that is chasing a game has nothing to lose if the substitution turns out to make things worse. Cos a lose is a lose. But making that substitution gives them a chance or probability of introducing a player or formation that can change things.

Rohr maintained the shape of that team because he knew they were capable of getting more goals if the need arises.

Onyekuru came in for a sapped out Kalu. Ogu also came in for Sapped out Etebo. Even with these substitutions he still maintained the shape of the team. The only major tactical switch was the introduction of Ajayi for Iwobi. You may say this last substitution came late but Rohr had his reasons for keeping it that late, of which I think it may be related to Uzoho being on a yellow card. What if he gets a second yellow and we had exhausted all our substitutions already?

The minimum we needed from this tie was 4pts. Even at 2-2, we were still meeting the minimum result required for the tie so no need to twist things so dramatically as if u are chasing a game. This is called tie management.

When ur opponent changes a player and the Newly introduced player seems to be causing troubles u may not necessarily need to react by only making ur own substitution. U may just instruct certain players to keep an eye on the new player or instruct one or two players to provide support when the new danger man goes on the offensive.

Lagos traffic almost made me miss this game but God pass them.

A good game for the boys.

Ighalo has redeemed his image and must please maintain it. We don't want this to be another flash in the pan. Else we bring out our whips again.

Uzoho was truly tested today, but for some school boy errors and poor kick-outs he did pretty well.

Ndidi didn't particularly have a good game. Didn't do enough to shield the CBs.

I love Iwobi's pace together with his ability to get the team out of tight spots. Good to see him play from the middle also from the left flank.

The Oyinbo wall was stretched today and their fragility exposed. However, over-all they still put in a good game.

The two full backs did a good job overall. Except that Collins got overwhelmed later in the game.

Etebo fizzled-out as the game progressed, his inability to take charge of the midfield cost us the control of the game. Kalu was largely anonymous while Musa had an above average game.

Onyekuru still needs to gain composure in front of the goal.

We learn new things about the team with each game, and overall the team is getting better.

Overall, 10/10 for the team cos we got all 6 available points.

We should be celebrating our return to the AFCON because we only need 1 pt from our last 2 games to qualify. However, we should first endeavour to pay South Africa back in front of their home crowd.
If we can book the ticket with the SA game, for the Seychelles game we can parade an experimental squad. All those calling for the capping of one player or the other would take over the mic and a good number of our young prospects be invited and have a good look-in. If they cannot beat Seychelles in Uyo then they have nothing to offer.

The Reason for my second Paragraph is simply to accommodate Lookman, Eze and other talented Nigerian Players below the Age in the National Team.

Then they can be gradually Integrated into the Senior Team based on Merit. Names keep popping up every Hour as if Rohr can invite more than 24 Players at a go or lineup more than 11 Players for a Match.
They will definitely be part of the U23 set up if they are available to us. But that still does not stop Rohr from adding them to the SE when necessary.

I typically like a matured U23 team. IE U23 team with a good number of players that have played at Senior level. Like Uzoho, Awaziem, Kalu and Onyekuru are eligible for the 2020 Olympics. Remember also that Samuel Chukwueze, Kingsley Michael, Orji Okonkwo, Taiwo Awoniyi, Victor Osimhen, K. Nwakali, Sincere Seth are some of the players that would likely have risen to the SE before 2020 Olympics. And they are also eligible for the Olympics. Remember also that Ebube Duru, Ukouwem Utin and the rest of the U20 class are eligible.

If the coaches can make the right selections and these players are available. That would be a killer squad.

We need to understand something on this Thread, Rohr can not invite at least maximum of 24 Players to the Camp at a go! Also we we can't expect him to be changing Players in every international Match.

Any Player below 23 whether FB or Local should be drafted to the Olympic (U23) Team. Senior Team is already crowded.
I agree with your first paragraph.

But on the 2nd paragraph any player who can add value, even if U23 can be invited.

The CV is intimidating... cry cry cry.. The only governor that left 160million dollars while leaving office... All debt cleared!

Tribalism and ethnicity should be taken aside... I watched Vietnam success story I started crying.. Just 10yrs developmental plan and focus on human resources.. Then I looked at Nigeria.. I just shake my head...
That is the key: "Investing in human Resources". As this will Create more business men/ Entrepreneurs.

Decentralize Power generation and boost Transmission Capacity. This will boost power supply and also create jobs. Improved Power supply will obviously boost our business climate and ensure better performances of SMEs which will in turn create more jobs. Nigeria's large population will ensure there is always market for goods and Services produced. Besides, also, the West African market is also there.

O boy, fixing the economy is no rocket science. Just that the forces that be will not allow a lot of these policies to see the light of the day.

We need a strong willed leader that can battle these " forces". That is if the leader himself is not part of the "forces"

Yh, I agree with you cos I already even mentioned it. How much impact he makes on our economy will be determined by the economic team he chooses. To me personally, I'm not raising my hopes for him, cos the buhari debacle has taught me a big lesson. Another advantage we have is this time around, the campaign won't be propaganda based unlike in 2015, it will be issue based and that's where buharis ass will be opened.
U are right about the economic team. He needs to assemble the best heads devoid of quota system

BTW have you seen Peter Obi's CV?

Funny how people think atiku is any different from buhari. They are both over 70's, both from the same region, both Muslims and fulanis and both herders. Atiku is also tribaliatic just like buhari going by the fact that in 2011 when he ran for pdp presidential candidate against Jonathan, he's slogan was the North should vote for the north. He also has been involved in a number of corruption scandals in which some of his accomplices have been indicted, but it's stupidity to assume buhari isn't corrupt, they are both corrupt just that buhari uses his kinsmen to do the dirty work. Where atiku has the edge is that he's more exposed, and more business savvy as opposed to the buhari who knows nothing about the economy.
So if anyone is thinking atiku is suddenly going to be our messiah , that person will be deceiving himself. Personally even though I don't believe in atiku or think he has anything to offer, I will still vote for him cos we need a change in leadership. Buhari has failed woefully and his performance doesn't make him deserve a second term. So let atiku also try, if he fails, we vote him out.
There are major differences, Atiku is still full of life and has more entrepreneurial skills and also is more liberal and hence is expected to run an open economy which will in turn attract more Foreign Direct Investments which will in turn create more jobs and alleviate poverty levels in the country. These are the qualities we need from a Leader now.

I think this explains the Ighalo drought era. Seemed he was frozen out or he, Success, wasn't in the right places at the right time.
Person that played only about 13mins.

If Ighalo was to have been judged from after we went 1:0 up to half time he would have been adjudged to be piss poor.

Ighalo had multiple opportunities over and over to redeem himself.

Success is still new in the team and with more playing time will also get into the rhythm
