Nonstoprain: the thing surprise me too, cause when I was in school, there was nothing like cult or whatever, I uesd to stroll from Eka Obong to Ukanafun, even at night, so I'm really surprised but then what do I know, things have changed. As corpers we used to go out to have fun and come back as late as 9-10pm. Our fear was running into idol worshippers before they will say we have seen some forbidden things. No cultism at all. |

I did my NYSC in Ukanafun. Some of my friends served near Etim Ekpo. That place was like a paradise. Once peaceful, accommodating and friendly people. Someone actually told me how bad that place is now.
Chai I weep for my Ukanafun. |

Reference: That is why the performance of government after four years is this poor. Mr Veepee doesn't have an electoral value of his own so he has no principles to defend and cannot constructively argue or engage with Mr. President with any level of confidence. We need someone who is not politically naive. A person who can bring theory and practice together, who can make realistic promises and knows how to actualise them in a complex society such as Nigeria. And finally a person who brings political capital to the ticket so that he can stand eyeball to eyeball to Mr. President when tough times arise and cut throat political decisions have to be made.
We are tired of docile, spare tyres as vice presidents who we can not even imagine as future presidents or stand their own in competitive elections. The last veepee we had who had the clout to give the government needed value was Atiku himself. Amd thatis why he is on the ballot today. Mr. Osibanjo can never in a million years win a presidential election on his own without mafia like support.
Now for Mrs Okonjo Iweala, has this not been the sole criticism over her two stints as Finance Minister, that she was ridden roughshod in the mismanagement of the economy. Those things happened because she was an appointee (having no electoral value). A country like ours having weak institutions must rely at its infancy on political interpower play to get things done. It will take a hybrid personality, that is a technocrat (who knows HOW to get things done) with a politician (who is ABLE to get things done) to deliver.
This we have not seen even in the ruling party where the current President and VP are poles apart and cannot seem to combine to make things work. That is why when the President is out and hands over things appear to work, but can Mr. VP retain power... no. So things quickly fizzle out and frustratingly return to the staquo quo as soon as Mr. President is back.
Mrs Iweala as Veepee will be nothing more than a yes man (sorry woman) whose only use will be as a lightning rod for the government's shortcomings as she has done for almost the 16 year PDP rule. We need someone who is stronger (more powerful) to produce a better government. That is where we keep making mistakes. We need technocrats in Public offices and not politicians. Only technocrats can rescue us from this mess cos our politicians have failed woefully. |

Reference: She has no political experience and with her close links to the immediate past government, the unecessary baggage will prove more of an anchor to the ballot. That is why I prefer Peter Obi. He's a technocrat, has campaigned and won an election and has a solid track record without the attendant baggage of corruption you can never seem to dissociate from Atiku himself. Which political experience did Osinbade have before 2015? Peter Obi is too much for a VP candidature. He should align well and go for Presidency. VPs don't do much. |

Curtisaxel7: My dream line up
Gk - Uzoho (no competition)
CD- Balogun
CD- Ajayi (Been posting superb displays lately. And his height can be needful in defending set-pieces in which we are deficient)
RB- Aina ( Better than Shehu )
LB- Collins ( natural left footer, decent dribbling ability. Idowu has neither).
DM- Ndidi
CM- Etebo
AM- Iwobi
RM- S.Kalu
LM- Musa (can be our major attacking outlet)
CF- Ighalo ( In good scoring form. good physicality and dribbling. Iheanacho has a horrible first touch, zero pace and can't dribble a defender to save his life, I'd play Success ahead of him). It is not this kind of game that Rohr will start all 3 of Jamilu, Aina and Ajayi. All 3 may not even start. I only see Aina as having a better chance than the other 2 to play that game. |

I didn't draw any formation.. I only gave a list of players I would to see in the starting 11..
I would for a 4-3-2-1 OK, no wahala. We are all here to exchange ideas. No need to feel bad about it. OK let's see now, using the 4-3-2-1 u just proposed above represent the players set up like u did before and at least just to prove some people wrong already. |

Danielnino00: Rohr's decision to continue using Shehu at RB is plain stupidity . Shehu was only drafted to the RB role due to our lack of option in the role.. Now we have enough of them and Shehu doesn't play that role at club level.... It is not stupidity. If he plays Shehu at RB on Saturday it means he has not really had enough confidence on Aina in that position. Remember Aina has not played RB for Nigeria. And so if he does not have much confidence in Aina for a game this crucial, he has to fall back to status quo which is Shehu. And I am sure you know Shehu will deliver the goods in a game like this especially if he is not played as a WB but as a RB. |

forgiveness: I have modified it. OK good. Plus I have this believe that Rohr is more likely to start Shehu ahead of Aina at RB. Knowing how crucial that game is, Aina has not played RB in any game under Rohr and knowing Rohr to be very conservative, Shehu looks more likely to start at RB. |

He also proved that against Seychelles with the cracker of a goal and MOTM performance. He is currently in his high gear and we must optimize it. He starts ahead of Simon for me. |

Men we sat on the floor to watch on TV as kids are almost all gone.
That was an era we had: Baba Sala, Jaguar, Zebrudaya + Clarus & "Giringory" (I later learnt the real pronunciation was Gregory), The Great Samanja, Baba Suwe, Baba Aluwe, Chief Koko, Justice Oziri (New Village headmaster) etc
These men brought happiness to Nigerian homes. Helped many to heal the wounds of the Civil War.
NTA was the bomb then. No boring moments except News hour. Lol.
We had a happier society.
I miss my Kid days. |

safarigirl: who are the wingbacks then?
You are playing a 3-3-1-3? Or a 3-4-3? You have the wrong personnel
You cannot have Ekong-Balogun-Idowu.... Ndidi-Etebo-Onazi-Iwobi on the pitch at the same time. Idowu is the only full back in that formation. You have two center backs and no wing backs (except you want to play Idowu in LW, so who plays RW?) School him jare, school him nwanne. Safari why don't you pick up a coaching certificate form from any football academy near you, just for the leisure of it.You stand to learn a lot more about coaching and tactics. You know that waiting period between graduation and Law School or between Law school and NYSC. Just a BCC (Basic Coaching Certificate) would be OK for now. It is just 3months. There are also CAF organized coaching courses which are like 2 weeks duration. You may need to contact the NFF for inquiries on that. Besides, no knowledge or certificate is lost, who knows u might need it one day. In my entire life I have never come across a lady this knowledgeable about football. You even know better than Baron that used to present sports on Channels TV some time back. |

Kog45: Pls tell them cos I remember Victor Igbinoba of Kodak 85 fame who fizzled out,Kayode Keshinro,Jide Oguntuase,Bella Momoh,Peter Anosike,Festus Odini.Blessing Anyanwu,Charles Okonedo good U 17 players we thought are going places but funny enough a lot of them failed to impress at U20 not to talk of SE Ow Egbon, the list is so long: Dimeji Lawal, Peter Ogaba, Bawa Abdulahi, Christopher Ohenhen, Philip Osondu, Mohammad Manga, Someone like Fatai Atere played U17 twice but still could not make the U20 team. Who could have believed that deadly goal poachers like Victor Igbinoba and Peter Ikechukwu Anosike would fizzle out so early. Igbinoba was at Chile 87 but not as a regular while Anosike could not measure up at all for the U20. I admire some of these recent U17 players but sorry I have long learnt to lower my expectations. Let me see them do it as professional players first before sticking out my neck. |

TheSuperNerd: It is still not a crime to be optimistic for every young lad. The reality is that not all will make it but until that is established, I believe in showing faith in all as they grow becos being pessimistic or negative about them will do no good at all. That is my take. Well I do more of lowering my expectations than being pessimistic. I like seeing U17 players progress through the ranks from the academies to professional football and assess them at the U20 & or U23 before sticking my neck out. |

ChrisKels: I dont believe in Yahaya, Chigozie Eze anymore. Bn 5yrs since they shone in that U17 tourney, yet they still play youth football. This is what is called stagnation.
About Nwakali, the less said, the better. To think that a certain scam of a coach invited this boy ahead of Ebere Eze and James Igbekeme...SMH Reason why I have never bought the idea of even automatic promotion from U17 to U20. Not to talk of promoting them straight to the U23 and Super Eagles. Many of those boys fizzle out after U17. I have closely followed youth football since 1985 and that has been the trend. Well, some of us here are just beginning to understand this now. If u keep having hopes on every Young player then they will continue to break your heart. |

safarigirl: Iheanacho comes off for Albrighton, after being absolute shitt and looking every bit like a bag of beans. For all the playing time Puel is giving him and after rescuing him from Man City's bench, you'd think he could at least try to put in some decent effort in the Leicester City shirt. Watching him is incredibly uninspiring and there is no justification why someone that shitty should be making some cool cash from football, he is only useful in an FPL team.
That is basically, a summarised version of Iheanacho's 65 minutes on the pitch today according to Twitter I had to check and recheck severally who was posting this until I saw the last paragraph. Lol! To be honest, Iheanacho was largely anonymous today. The only thing he did was that assist. See even that run that Vardy made and squared the ball into the 18 yards box only for Iheanacho to be miles behind. |
