Thanks Andrew but you may have to look through the following numbers again:

1. Ndidi was never part of any SE games this year. The awards are for National Team performances

3. Joe Aribo made his debute in 2019 and not 2020. So he is not eligible for that category this year.

6. Ndidi again, same as in reason in number 1.

10 & 11: Lesotho game was in 2019. We are only considering 2020 games.

So please, go through, with the necessary adjustments, and repost. Thanks.

No we always discuss. If people have just been agreeing with you doesn't mean it will be so all the time.
You want to Include Anthony Okpotu as among Best Attacker nominees and I have said "Go ahead".And then complete the other nominations and repost.

This thing is as simple as it can be. Thanks.

I wish we could play Onuachu and osimhen upfront. Osimhen slightly behind. I think osimhen speed and Onuachu size will complement each other.
Onuachu is not good enough to lead our front line.
He is not even SE quality. We are only managing him because Nigeria currently is short of striking options.

Thanks Thegoodjoe.

For 2: you may google NPFL 2019/20 season for more info.

For 6: Ndidi did not feature in any game for the Eagles this year, 2020. You may need to reconsider his inclusion.

BascoVanVeli:
See this is the thing. A player on the national team should always out perform those that are not but when that doesn't happen it would be unethical to refuse that player a chance at an award. Please I think this should be ironed out before we progress. As u can see it's not like votes are rushing in.
The awards have always been for players' performances in the National team(s) in that particular calendar year. Club performances are not the yardstick for measurement here.
But if you want to add Okpotu to your list, you are free. Let's forge ahead please.
Sports › Re: NNFF Awards, Committee. by Icon4s(op): 7:23pm On Nov 28, 2020
BascoVanVeli:
I'm not changing Okpotu from my list. A player won a golden boot, a cup and a CAF slot for his team. It would be a disgrace for him not to be at least mentioned for that. The award is named best attacker not best super eagles attacker. It should be both that come to play.
Ok go ahead with Okpotu.

Please also fill the other spaces.

But note that these awards are for players that featured in the National team(s) for this calendar year.

Olayinka scored his team second goal. Kayode,, Olayinka, Balogun(On stand by) and Sanusi are the only Africans that scored in European Cups this week. Please don't ever tell me we don't have the players!
Bros, I think by now we ought to have understood that players' performances in these European leagues alone doesn't guarantee players' National team success.

It was here that we saw Henry Onyekuru scoring goals week in- week out. Paul Onuachu was making headlines, Joe Aribo was getting eye turning reviews, there was hardly a week that Chidera Ejuke's performance was not mentioned here. What of Kelvin Akpoguma? His invitation was Celebrated here like Christmas grin. Simmy Nwankwo, Josh Maja and Cyrrel Dessers nko. I can go on and on.

But Las-Las ..... undecided

Well.... I just dey look Rohr and Pinnick. angry
Sports › Re: NNFF Awards, Committee. by Icon4s(op): 8:21pm On Nov 27, 2020
BascoVanVeli:
Why can't 2019 be part of it? The seasons were combined because of Covid na.

Getting invited to the national team cannot be a criteria. If so, only Ezenwa would be eligible for the NPFL award.

I thought this were awards for Naija eligible players.
For 2019, if you want to add 2019, it means you will also have to go as far back as the pre-AFCON friendlies and the AFCON itself. Bro, that is bringing in ambiguity. We have always conducted this award for the Particular calendar year. How will it look if someone like Odion Ighalo be among nominees for 2020 SE Player of the year? undecided Bro please restrict your nominations to 2020 games and performances.

For the NPFL player of the year, the rating has always been based on players' performances in the NPFL and not their invitation to the SE.

And to your last paragraph, the awards are for players that featured or got Invited to the National teams, with the exception of the Best NPFL category which like I mentioned earlier is based on their NPFL performances. For the SE awards, Players are rated strictly based on their National team performances and not club. Like I earlier mentioned, it is so as to allow for a level playing field on which to assess the players and then to reward them for their National team performances.

Thanks Bascovanveli.

But you may need to look at the following numbers again:

1. Remember we are evaluating players' performances in the national team colors this year, even if it is just Camping invitation.
So you may need to reconsider including Wilfred Ndidi as he did not feature in any games for the SE this calendar year.

3. Joe Aribo didn't make his debute this calendar year. It was in 2019. So he is ineligible for this category.

4. This category is for SE goalkeepers. Chinedu Anozie was never invited for any SE games this year.

6. Wilfred Ndidi again, for same reason as (1) above.

7. Anthony Okpotu didn't feature for the National team this calendar year.

10 & 11. The games against Lesotho were played in 2019. We only consider games played in 2020.

Please adjust accordingly, thanks.

All these are just to set the records straight, to assess the players on the same platform and to avoid any form of ambiguity in both the selection and voting processes.

Well, in the absence of any suggestions, my suggested categories for this year's awards:

1. Nigerian Player of the Year

2. NPFL player of the Year

3. Most Impactful New Inclusion (2020)

4. Best Ogedengbe Super Eagles Best Goal Keeper of the Year

5. Stephen Keshi Best Defender of the Year

6. Samuel Okwaraji Best Midfielder of the Year

7. Rashidi Yekini Best Attacking player of the Year

8. Most improved player (2020)

9. Young Player of the Year (U-21)

10. Super Eagles Goal of the Year

11. Best assist of the Year

Note that I removed 3 categories
1. Best performing dual citizenship of the year. Reasons: It stired up some controversies in the house and also the radio station that made the news announcement said that category was not necessary and was excluded from the broadcast.

2. Super Falcons Player of the Year.
Reason: They did not play any game this year, so no yardstick to rate the players.

3. National Team of the Year.
Reason: SE were the only National team that played this year. So there is no room for a comparison or contest.

We need to round off with this list of Awards categories today, so from tomorrow we start nominating players into different awards categories.

NAIRALAND NIGERIAN FOOTBALL FANS (NNFF) AWARDS

NOMINATION OF AWARDS COMMITTEE MEMBERS

The Super Eagles have played all their matches for 2020, and to crown up all our analyses on Nigerian Players for the entire year, it is time for us to select players who have made more Impact than the others in various categories.

And, like it has always been, we need to nominate Monikers who will come up with the list of players in the various categories. Then, the entire house will do the voting.

NOTE: Being the Coordinator I am already part of the committee. No need to nominate Icon4s, so we need 6 more people who will join me.

All you need do is mention the Moniker you want to see in the awards Committee and CC: Icon4s and Bascovanveli. The Top 6 nominated monikers will join me in the Committee.

NOMINATION CLOSES 22ND NOVEMBER, 2020 @ 6PM (NIGERIAN TIME)
