To the best of my knowledge, when you said Iheanacho was no there, I clearly stated Ighalo and Bony. That was during Oliseh's reign.
Well then.

My discussion is strictly the Not there Yet statement. It was during Oliseh's reign when Ighalo was banging in goals. My point was If Iheanacho was given a chance, he could do what Ighalo was doing and even better. I said, if Ighalo is the THERE, Iheanacho has reached it and Oliseh should call him. Finito.
So you mean we never discussed his not being there at City?

Oga wat kind of joke is that? I never told anyone here about Awoniyi being able to start for Liverpool. U might be the one who wants to argue about Stephen Odey but I was talking about Rivers United and their chances. U never spoke much about Etebo either, u always spoke about Sokari and Ajayi. Etebo is the same age as Iheanacho so that would have defeated the purpose of u calling for older players on the u20 team. Or are u claiming that I watched the u23's and still didn't rate Etebo?
I only fronted Sokari in the U20 team because of what he brought to the midfield in addition to his AM role. Iheanacho as an AM against Brazil U20 drifted more into striking positions thereby creating gaps in the Midfield.

I never spoke much about Etebo? TheGoodJoe knows better about that.

The topic was strictly inviting Iheanacho to Super Eagles and you said he was not there yet. I clearly pointed out that Iheanacho could score the goals Ighalo was scoring. I said Iheanacho was better than Bony and Ighalo.

That was my stance. Any other thing there is adding Maggi. I repeatedly said Iheanacho has to keep working hard. We highlighted articles of Iheanacho saying he needs to work very hard.

If he was as hyped as you made it, would we talk of Iheanacho working hard?

It was after Keshi's reign. It was when Oliseh invited Ighalo and left Iheanacho out.
Bros, long before the discussion shifted to the Super Eagles we were discussing about Iheanacho Vs Aguero Vs Bony Vs Novas .

U guys even said he was in a class of his own-different from that of Messi and Ronaldo.

Keshi was still coach then.

Oliseh initially omitted him from his team. Understandably needed him to get some more professional game time more over Ighalo Was the hottest striker in England for that calender year. You wanted him to drop Ighalo for a young Iheanacho who had just been introduced to professional football?

Good enough Iheanacho learnt quickly and got his career on the way. I saw nothing wrong in Oliseh's decision.

Just like Victor Osimhen Now. Do u consider him ready for the CF position in the Super Eagles?

Revealed – Arsenal Were Close To Agreeing Two Year Deal With Sarenren Bazee Before Contract Extension With Hannover 96

https://owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/image-68.jpg

Super Eagles newboy Noah Joel Sarenren Bazee was close to agreeing a two year deal with Arsenal before his contract extension with promotion chasing Bundesliga 2 side Hannover 96.

Hannover 96 announced his contract extension on Saturday, finally bringing to an end uncertainty regarding the highly rated German-Nigerian forward who would have been out of contract in 2018.

The delay according to informed sources was due to the flurry of offers the 20 year old received from teams in Germany and outside Germany , notably among them English Premier League giants Arsenal.

Bazee courted interest from Bayern Munich, Schalke 04, Borussia Monchengladbach and Bayern Leverkusen , but while the German teams were trying to convince him to make up his mind. Arsenal reportedly offered him a two year deal according to German news outlet SID.

His extension with Hannover 96 however put an end to any hope of Arsenal and the other teams interested in him have in signing him , as he has clearly stated his intention to establish himself at the team before considering any move away.

Really?

Would his presence had strengthed the Arsenal attack for the 2017/2018 season or he will be 'drilled' to take over a strikers or wingers role for the future.

You have forgotten the debate was about Oliseh calling Iheanacho to the National team and you tried convincing people that Iheanacho was not there yet. I am sure looking back, you know that Nacho was THERE and Beyond. grin
What?

The debate about he not being there started way back from when he got promoted to the City first 11.That was even before Oliseh was appointed coach. Joseph1013 plz bear me witness on this.

You said Iheanacho was in a class different from those of Aguero, Bonny, Novas and co. U even likened him to Messi and Ronaldo.

I even recall you once said u are sure of Iheanacho's future at City as there was no 19yrs old any where in the world as good as him. Well, little did you know that Jesus was coming soon.

Talks of he being a world beater. YOU GUYS OVER HYPED THAT BOY.

Not as an excuse but they were attacked upon landing. The Al merrekh fans were hostile and they intimidated them. I will let people decide if they should have been more mentally strong and withstood the fear of death in a foreign country.
Please don't make it seem as if I was ever against NPFL players at any point in time. All u were doing was bashing Manu's boys, u didn't speak of the quality in the NPFL and I never said there wasn't. Even before the season I made a statement about us following our league closer and even asking people to also go to their local stadiums like I have been doing since the season started. I am not just talking out of my butt, I actually follow the league.
Al Merrekh fans being hostile is what we see every day CAF club competitions so no excuses.

Talking about me bashing Manu's boys I was only asking u guys to calm down on the hypes. For instance, I recall u and other guys here saying Awoniyi was good enough for a starting 11 in the Liverpool team.

You did not believe there were quality young players in the NPFL to match those of the Manu boys. I recall standing my ground that Junior Ajayi was better suited as our U23 striker than Awoniyi and u told me Awoniyi was in a separate Planet from Ajayi. I also fronted Karo Etebo as being almost equally as gifted as Iheanacho.
U went ahead to ask me if I work with the NPFL.

See I am a kind of person believes our NPFL has so many talented youngsters. But I know how far I can rate them. For our U20s and U23s no qualms but for the current Super Eagles setting? You'll need to prove more than being an NPFL highest goals scorer to get my nod.

Where are the likes of Chikeluba Ofoedu, Jude Aneke, Sikiru Adigun, Chisom Chikatara, Tunde Adeniji, Emen Uduok, Godwin Obaje, Mfom Udoh,? These are young players that took the NPFL by storm in the last 4-5 yrs but how are their game levels today?

If you feel Stephen Odey can deliver better than Fenan Ardi, Olanrewaju Kayode, and Aaron Samuel, then he deserves the call-up.

Is Iheanacho better than Aguero? Especially when you consider Aguero dropping deep and building plays. Gabriel Jesus also does this better than Nacho. Iheanacho is improving but he is not up to their level yet.

It was easier for Sane because he only had Nolito ahead of him on the left side attack. If City seals Neymar, Sane will go back to the bench.
In other words Iheanacho is "not there yet".Hahaha.

Rivers have the ability to get a draw or at least an away goal. They should qualify because there would be no excuse for them.
A team that beat Al merrekh 3-0 in PH and lost that lead in less than 40mins of the return leg?

I cannot stick my neck for those ones. If they scale through good for them and their fans.

But Bascovanveli, this one you are defending the NPFL teams these days. Is it because of the 'Odey' argument? Hahaha!

Lol! I remember when you once asked me if I work with the NPFL just be I was defending the choice of some young NPFL players in the U23 team. One notable one is my choice of Junior Ajayi over Taiwo Awoniyi.

Sane was on the bench not too long ago. Guardiola confirmed that Sane improved in training and looked a different player. That was why he started seeing game time. So, drills worked for Sane.

Your mixing the context. The context is in better not age. Gabriel Jesus moves better than Firmino. That is why he is the lead striker of Brazil ahead of an older and more experienced Firmino.

At the moment, Aguero moves better than Iheanacho. That is why he deserves to get picked ahead of Iheanacho. I said we should stop using experience but refer to the better player.
Going by your philosophy you should not mention age while comparing Iheanacho with Dybala.

You have always opined that age does not matter.
The experience issue is another debate.

Dybala is 23 while Iheanacho is 20. This is the formative years of Iheanacho and learning this fluid movement as a striker will make him one of the deadliest finishers in the game. He is already exceptional striking, add this movement and we have a possible legend.

If Iheanacho was 23, I will not say stay. It is clear Guardiola treasures the mobile forwards. Players like Gabriel Jesus, Mbappe, Lewandowski, Suarez and Firmino have this naturally.

Iheanacho working with Aguero and Gabriel Jesus who have mastered it will help him get it soon. Give the young man time.
You are the same person that says age does not matter.

So age now matters? So Dybala is better bc he is older?

I learnt more of maths when doing business or trying out a business strategy or even when making strategic betting decisions (lol).

In school, I was terrible. I basically paid my way to pass maths subjects! I was really bad. Any maths day was a bad school day for me. But English, wow. Government? Sweet. Even Accounting? Loved it. And our Maths teachers did like they were the forth members of the Trinity. Aside from the fact they were the teachers that knew how to flog, You dare not asked silly questions else you would either be flogged for stretching the class or jeered for being a dull brain.

And I ask... Why am I knowing it now when I'm through with schooling in business field and not when in school?

Many Maths teachers are blessed mathematicians but are not practical with their teaching. Everyday situations and decisions of life teach maths better than genius maths teachers in our schools! Any dullard will understand anything the moment you relate the issue to a personal incident. Eg. finance. All this "find X, find w"...without trying to relate it with something practical, will only make it theory.

We do some form of maths everyday. But I think that just as you develop and study English in practical (even though it's a theory based subject) to be able to communicate with others, rather than being a grammarian, Maths and it's study should be taught practically (and applied to an "off maths" issue) rather learning maths to come to nairaland and say "I sabi maths".
Hahaha I feel you my brother.

You and I are two opposites.

I understand things better when they are put in mathematical terms.

I never had less than 'A' in maths from my SS1 down to Mat 101 and 102 in the University.

The problem for people who do not know maths starts from they running from the science class.
Then next they'll see maths as a subject that should only be taken serious by the science students.
Next also they hate the period for mathematics.
They also dislike the maths teacher added with the already lost interest in the subject they perform woefully.

We that were 'good' in maths then we're like Kings amongst our mates in school. Some hated us for it.

I was not the best maths student in my secondary school but I was among the best 10. We were just collecting A1 in maths like any how.

I took that even to University level where I also flogged maximum As.

I read Geology as first degree but Economics as Masters(Petroleum Economic).

My lecturer at MSc would say heaven and earth, I would just be waiting for him to put what he is saying in mathematical equation form. With that I will understand better and it sticks.

NPFL U15 PROMISES: Osogbo fans applauds MFM FC's wonder kid

Mountain of Fire an Miracles Ministries FC diminutive midfielder, Lawal Sulaimon became the toast of many at the Oshogbo City Stadium during his team's Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Under 15 Promises tournament.

MFM FC's brilliant performances could not see the lads through to the next round of the competition.
The Olukoya Boys who lost their first game of the competition 1-0 to ABS FC beat Sunshine Stars FC 3-0 and played out a one-all draw against Shooting Stars and Remo Stars with GTBank Principal Cup back-to-back top scorer, Eniayewu Hammed, Lawal Sulaimon, Atoyebi Gideon, Hammed Saheed, Olugade Jacob and Aina Ayobami, putting up five-star displays.

Lawal propelled his side to their first win of the tourney over Sunshine Stars, he provided the assist that led to Eniayewu first goal of the competition off a well taken free kick. The skilful playmaker capped his performance on that day with a goal from the penalty spot. His overall display during the tournament earned him standing ovation from spectators at the Oshogbo Stadium.

Lawal, an SS 2 student of Anwar-Ul-Islam Model College gege, Lagos shared his thought with MFM FC Media few minutes after their 1-1 draw against the Ibadan-based club Shooting Stars.

"I'm very happy for the game we played today and very happy for our performance. In the nearest future we see ourselves playing for Nigeria. I also want to thank the MFM General Overseer, Dr DK. Olukoya for his love for the youths," the creative midfielder told mountaintopfc.com.
Seeing these boys makes me happy.

We cannot get it wrong if we continue with tourneys like these. I just wish the NTA, AIT or Supersports shows us at least the final match live.

Eguavoen has coached the Super Eagles so why cant he coach the Flying Eagles. The main challenge we may have is players selection. If he selects the right crop of players tactics will not be a problem. If NFF doesn't appoint him then Siasia should be called up.

La-Liga Nigerian Bad Boy Uche Agbo Becomes Watford’s First Addition Ahead Next Season

https://owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/image-9.jpg

Owngoalnigeria.com can authoritatively reveal that Uche Agbo will be returning to English Premier League side Watford at the end of the season when his loan deal expires with Spanish La-Liga side Granada.

The Nigeria international was signed by the Premier League giants in the summer but immediately loaned back to the Granada as exclusively revealed by Owngoalnigeria.com last year.

Agbo has been one of the few bright sparks in a Granada team that is presently battling to stay in the La-Liga , and his impressive performances although blotted with 12 yellow cards and two red cards have impressed the decision makers of his parent owners.

He will be one of the fresh faces in the team when pre season commences later in the year ahead of the start of the 2017/2018 season in England.

Agbo will however need to be issued a work permit by the home office before he can play in competitive games for the Vicarage Road outfit.

There is however a glimmer of hope that he would be granted Spanish citizenship which will cushion the fear of not being eligible to play in the English Premier League according to a source who spoke with Owngoalnigeria.com on the condition of anonymity.

A couple of Super Eagles stars may move to the glamorous English Premier League in the near future as a number of clubs are monitoring their progress ahead of the opening of the transfer window.

It has come to light that representatives from Manchester United, Crystal Palace, Newcastle United plus West Brom were among the 2,013 spectators at the Hive Stadium on March 23 as Nigeria were held to a 1-1 draw by Senegal.

Besiktas, CSKA Moscow and Standard Liege scouts were also sighted during the friendly between the two West African opponents.

Rohr Keeping Close Watch On “Nigerian Peter Crouch” Paul Onuachu Who Has 12 League Goals This Season In Denmark

https://owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/image-47.jpg

The fine form of giant Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu is closely being monitored by coach of the Super Eagles Gernot Rohr according to one of the assistants of the Franco-German coach of the team.

Onuachu is presently one of the top scorers in the Danish Championship with 12 goals for Midtylland, who are presently in the play offs for a spot in next season Europa League. He has an astonishing record of 8 goals in his last 8 games for the Danish side.

Nicknamed Nigerian Peter Crouch due to his height which is similar to that of Stoke City forward Peter Crouch, 22 year old Onuachu also has two goals in the Danish Cup with his brace against high flying Aab helping his side to a 3-2 win away from home.

” Rohr is aware of him, we are closely monitoring his performances this season just like every other Nigerian player. Onuachu is very young and he will get his chance if he maintains his form”, an assistant to the coach told Owngoalnigeria.com.

” Olarenwaju Kayode profited from showing consistency over a long period of time. I think Onuachu will benefit from same means if he improves on his form, A move away to a team in a more competitive league will also do his chances a whole lot of good”.

Exclusive – FIFA Wreck Athletico Madrid Plans For Kano Pillars 16 Year Old Wonderboy Nazifi Yahaya

https://owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/image-59-819x1024.jpg

Spanish giants Atletico Madrid won’t be pushing to sign Kano Pillars forward Nazifi Yahaya according to one of the player’s representative despite their inquiry for his services last month.

Yahaya won the heart of Athletico Madrid scout at the recently concluded Guateng Future Championship in South Africa, where he emerged as top scorer despite Nigeria losing in the final game of the tournament to the Spanish side.

They dropped their interest in the 16 year old after their failure to overturn the suspension on them by FIFA, which bars them from signing players for the next transfer window.

” They ( Atletico Madrid) were hoping the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) will overturn the ban but that didn’t work as it was upheld. So as it stands now they can’t sign Yahaya even though they registered their interest in him during the Youth Championship in South Africa”, Yahaya’s intermediary told Owngoalnigeria.com.

” There are other teams interested in Yahaya, but remember he is just 16 so an agreement can only be reached before he turn 18, the right professional age. He has done himself a whole lot of good, hopefully he will get rewarded with a big move soon”.

but they hardly do so...

when this tournaments u mention are being played...the Nation under 17 coaches should be invited as one of the tournament officials or guest with that.....talents can be spotted
So what then is the essence of the tourney if our cadet coaches are not part of it.

There is no way the next U17 coaches will not be part of the NPFL U15 tourney in particular.

They may only be involved in the final stages of the secondary schools U15.

I recall our pioneer Golden Eaglets (then U16) were picked from secondary schools. Nduka Ugbade, Jonathan Akpoborie, Imama (i no sabi spell his surname) and co.

There is also an U15 national inter secondary schools competition involving over 100 schools. I heard about it on brila fm but no date was stated.

Our Class of 2019 Eaglets will definitely emerge from these two tourneys

These pix i am seeing are really those of U15 players. Musa Yahaya did not even look this young when he played U17 as a 15yr old.

Well done NPFL.

Wenger will stay as Arsenal manager

https://e1.365dm.com/17/03/16-9/20/skysports-arsene-wenger-wenger-arsenal_3907867.jpg?20170311201507

Arsene Wenger will stay as Arsenal manager for another two years – whether the club miss out on the Champions League or not.

The manager and the Arsenal board have now finalised details over a two-year contract extension and are ready to fly in the face of growing unrest by announcing the deal before the end of the season.

Even missing out on Champions League football won’t alter the decision, though there will be a slight change to the structure with a director of football being brought in. Staff across all levels at the club have been working on the understanding the Frenchman’s reign will continue for the last few weeks.

Even with the club lurching from one crisis to another, there is no appetite within the Arsenal hierarchy to tell Wenger he is no longer wanted as manager. So despite mounting calls for a change at the top from an increasing number of supporters, Wenger will be cleared to attempt to clean up the mess he has helped create.

Did you read the tier 4 visa requirement?
What is difficult in meeting the tier 4 visa requirement?

If you feel u cannot meet it then don't discourage others.

tier 4 is just a general students visa. You don't have to come from a rich home to merit it.
