Birikiti: Flying Eagles coach Manu Garba is sticking with the adage that you don’t change a winning team.
Based on the Nigeria Under 20s last training session before the crucial clash against Hungary on Sunday morning, allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Manu Garba will start the game with the same starting XI that beat North Korea hands down.
It means there is no place in the line-up for Granada striker Isaac Success, Gent’s Moses Simon, Manchester City starlet Kelechi Iheanacho and Tottenham Hotspur trainee Musa Yahaya.
MFM shot - stopper Joshua Enaholo will be in between the pipes while Mohammed, Bello, Ndidi and Mustapha will line up in defense.
Ifeanyi Ifeanyi, Kingsley Sokari and Akinjide Idowu are the midfielders that will start against the Europeans.
Taiwo Awoniyi is joined in attack by Saviour Godwin and Bernard Bulbwa.
Nigeria U20s Starting Lineup : Enaholo ; Musa Mohammed, Mustapha, Ndidi, Bello; Ifeanyi, Sokari, Idowu; Bulbwa, Awoniyi and Saviour.

Why change a winning team right? Saying Awoniyi starts ahead of Success? Is Success nursing an injury? Or is he having issues with d coach? I chose nt to believe this ur story. |

Birikiti: I have read the back and forth on who to play between Awoniyi and Success in this Flying Eagles team with keen interest.
First of all, let's all agree that whoever plays is the coach's prerogative as nobody wants to win more than the team's gaffer.
That being said, I honestly believe folks should look at the overall picture before coming to conclusions! Isaac Success might be a better striker in individual goals return but Awoniyi is definitely better in the team goals return as at the moment.
What do I mean? The number of assists and chances created when Awoniyi is upfront is phenomenal! He scored 3 goals at the AYC but also won 3 penalties! Apart from his assists, please guys, watch his off the ball runs; they are absolutely brilliant! His runs and hold up play creates chances for other team mates and also serves as an outlet for the Flying Eagles when under pressure. That so many folks do not notice this is actually baffling.
You can be sure Isaac Success will score when he's played but with Awoniyi you can be sure the TEAM (anyone on the team) will score goals. So it boils down to which scenario the gaffer prefers. Your guess is as good as mine! Good analysis. |

thegoodjoehunt3: Why should he do that? He explained that our strength lies in our counter attacks and Nacho is faster than Godwin. Godwin should come in as a Sub but Nacho will bring in more pace to the attack. Was it nt d same Iheanacho that was caged and out muscled in d Brazil game? Bc he plays for the Mancity U21? What is d standard of those their U21 league. U guys dnt know Iheanacho more than I do. I SAY SAVOIUR GODWIN SHOULD START AHEAD OF IHEANACHO. |

Krasid: Mexico does not play copa america. They play the north american gold cup. They play COPA America. Some times they play as invited guest country. The USA was invited the last time. See this: The 2015 Copa América will be the 44th edition of the Copa América, the main international football tournament for national teams in South America. The competition will be organized by CONMEBOL, South America's football governing body. The tournament will be held in Chile from 11 June to 4 July 2015.[1] Uruguay is the defending champion. Twelve teams will compete, the ten members of CONMEBOL and two guests from CONCACAF – Mexico and Jamaica, the latter of which will compete in Copa América for the first time. The winner of the tournament, or the best placed CONMEBOL team if Mexico or Jamaica win the tournament, will qualify for the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup hosted in Russia. Xlad: My preferred starting 11.
....................................Enaholo...........................................
.......Musa...........Ndidi..................Bello...............Mustapha......
......................................Idowu............................................
........................................................ ....Ifeanyi...................... ........................Sokari...........................................................
.......Iheanacho....................................................................... .............................................................................Yahaya....
.....................................Success...........................................
Sub: 60-65mins.. Yahaya ⇌ Saviour 69-73mins.. Iheanacho ⇌ Awoniyi ( Success will now play as a winger) 75-80mins.. Success ⇌ Moses/Bulbwa
Hungary is a team that will like to hit us hard with counter attack because what they will have in mind is to play a goalless draw with us.. Ifeanyi and idowu are defensively minded players so i think it will be hard for Hungary to achieve their plans but the coach needs to tell both the winger and ifeanyi to help mustapha. Only him playing as defender, mid-fielder and winger same time is not good and again, he should stop being in a hurry to attack. His no.1 duty is to defend and not to attack likewise musa. Ifeanyi is improving more especially his long range passes but he must avoid silly mistakes. Sokari from his game so far is not that much a counter attack minded midfielder. He is a wonderful midfielder that will always be controlling the tempo of the game, slowing it down when needed. Iheanacho contributed more offensively in the game he played than bulbwa. He gave an assist and also hit the bar. The only problem with him is that he is not contributing defensively but i think after the snub by Manu, he will up his overall contribution. Moreover he is very very good when it comes to counter attack than Bulbwa. Saviour is that type of player that always tries to dribble and score.. His effort will be needed much during 2nd-half so starting yahaya will be better cause he is not that selfish with the ball and is very good in assisting. When it comes to confidence and composure in front of the goalpost at this current stage, mehn, Success is still ahead of Awoniyi. i'm a strong fan of Awoniyi but mehn, Success got two opportunities and scored with it while awoniyi missed atleast 4 chances. We can't gamble in-front of goals. Any opportunity we get must be converted to a goal; so starting Success will be more okay than starting Awoniyi moreover he is faster than Awoniyi. Awoniyi can come in during 2nd-half and do what he does best(assisting).
I was discussing with my university football coach about this tournament although his country didn't qualify and i didn't know the man is even following everything and the man told me he is yet to miss a nigerian match. He told me clear that when it comes to quick counter attack, so far in New Zealand, that Nigeria is the most dangerous because when they are on counter attack just a maximum of 4 passes will result to a goal. He was like saying our first and second goals against brazil was after two and three passes where interchanged respectively while our second goal against N.Korea involved only a single pass. that the possibility of nigerian counter attack resulting to a goal is 90% which is even more better than the germanys and portuguess.
Goodluck F.E Please replace Iheanacho with G-o-d-u-w-I-n. |

Guys Nigeria can still finish first if:
N/Korea beats Brazil by 1 goal or any margin and Nigeria beats Hungary by one goal or any Margin. If we finish 1st we face Uruguay. Any which way, Germany, Serbia or Uruguay, no easy 2nd rnd for us.
Our boys just need to go out tomorrow and do the job regardless of who we are to play in d next rnd.
Playing Germany in the 2nd rnd puts us against winner of Ghana vs 3ACD in q/Final Playing Serbia in 2nd rnd puts us against winner of USA VS Colombia in Q/Final Playing Uruguay in 2nd rnd puts us against winner of Portugal vs 3ABF in Q/Final
So no merry ride any which ways |

thegoodjoehunt3: The error by the NFF officials is too much. I have been wondering what happened to these boys. They looked so promising in preparation for the competition. They looked a shadow of themselves in this tourney.
I believe as they go on, they will acclimatize and perform better.
Imagine them calling it the same weather. Same weather? That is what u get when illetrates run d show Mayb dat's y Awolowo sorry Awoniyi has been missing targets. |
Sports › Re: Flying Eagles of Nigeria Thread: U-20 World Cup (New Zealand 2015) by Icon4s(m): 10:49pm On Jun 05, 2015 |
thegoodjoehunt3: First of all, it is very funny for you to think players like Enaholo and Awoniyi will acclimatize in three weeks. Even if they were in Auckland. During the Hungary Brazil match, some Brazilians were wrapped in blankets.
Whoever selected Germany as the camp venue and said is the same weather needs to go back to primary school. So he can learn temperature difference.
Frankfurt Germany's temperature today = 72°F Auckland New Zealand's temperature today = 50°F
The gap is too much especially for players coming from Lagos Nigeria = 77°F.
Those that camped at Sydney Australia got it right. Temperature = 52°F That is what u get when u dnt give d right people d job. It is even summer in the Northern hemisphere while it is winter in d Southern hemisphere. Meaning Germany is experiencing Summer while New Zealand is experiencing Winter. And who knows frozen fingers could b responsible for Enaholo's slip dat led to d 4th goal. Jst saying o. |

safarigirl: nope....4 best 3rd place teams. So far, only New Zealand gets a spot on that basis.
3 spots to go. By tomorrow morning, we'll know what's left Yeah, & also 1 down from d 2 3rd placed teams dat would crash out(Argentina). Nigeria can qualify tomorrow if d 3rd placed team in grp C finishes with 1 or 2 pts.I.e if Senegal (on 1pt) vs Qatar (on 0pts) ends in a draw. All teams in D already have 3pts. However if Senegal wins (likely) & one of d games in grp D ends in a draw, Nigeria must atleast earn a draw to stand a chance of qualifying. Not forgeting that Fiji hu are 3rd in grp F already have 3pts. If dey draw their last match and the other situations as i explained above prevail, 3pts can only see Nigeria through If Germany beats Honduras. |

engineerboat: Two possible
if we finished 3rd we face either (Serbia (1st) group D) if we finish 2nd then we face AUSTRIA Points of correction: 1. All d teams in grp D have 3pts each and so have equal opportunity to win d grp. They include: Mexico, Serbia, Mali & Uruguay. If we finish 3rd we play any of them. 2. If we finish 2nd we likely face Germany. |

Nigeria has nt qualified yet. We await the outcome of the matches in grps C & D tomorrow. There would b six 3rd place finishers out of which d worst 2 will crash out.Nigeria in 3rd with 3pts is already sure of being ahead of Argentina who finished 3rd with 2pts. We jst need to b ahead of one more 3rd placed team 2morrow and we are through even before d Hungary game. |

LeeCodeman: What you have done here is called selective argument. Are Argentine players not young professionals? Whereas, most of Ghanaian's players are from academies. Yet, the Academy boys dusted the young professionals and sent them packing. Football is not mathematics. We could avoid Germany and meet Ukraine and still be beaten. There are not guarantees in football.
