safarigirl: we overcame VIV in 2013 too despite the odds against us. I personally don't think we'll get to meet Germany just like we never got to meet the dreaded Brazilian U17 team that were ripping others apart. Admitted, Germany is easily in one of the weakest groups (in favt, the weakest group) in this tournament with Fiji(debutants) Honduras and the Uzbeks who have little or no pedigree at this stage, so what we could be seeing now are just the perks of being placed in an easy group. If it was Nigeria, Korea,Qatar and Fiji in one group, we'd be 11 goals up too Which one is VIV again? And lady, this is U20 & nt like U17. I understand d fears of those that are afraid of Germany. Have u seen d German team play? They play with so much maturity and precision. They came to this tourney, jst like the Brazilians also with young professionals. 70% of the Nigerian team have nt even started playing professional football. Most are academy players. Things like these count especially at d crucial stages. That's y i have been quite conservative with my expectation from our team. Good enough a good no of them are17-18 yrs olds which makes dem legible to play in d next WYC hopefully then they would have become full professionals. Can u c dat Success is a step ahead of the others? He has been a full prpfessional for well over 18months. |

radiokilla: Op, as someone into football blogging, i will say that your match preview sucks. A little research could have helped. *at the Taranki stadium* not inside. Anyway, my money is on Nigeria to win the tournament. That could be possible if they qualify out of the group. The lads from Hungary are no minnows but i expect the likes of iheanacho to make a mincemeat of them. I'm not raising my hopes though, cause this Nigerian teams know how to throw the spanner into their works when it matters most. This Iheanacho u guys are always mentioning sef. He is nt even among the top 3 rated players in that team. |

USA and Sweden we know are teams with high pedigree in women football. Australia qualified from an Asian zone thart has countries like: Japan, N/Korea, S/Korea, China all which are formidable brands in female football. I just pray we even get up to 1pt from this group. Btw will AIT or NTA or both show d matches.I don give up on DSTV |

samueld0: If you have been following this set of Under 20 team right from the super six turnament you will know they were not overhyped as you claim. What went wrong in our game against brazil was That the team don't know anything about the Brazilian team (the coach's foult) but they know much about us, the Brazilian game plan was unexpected by our team so it was a suprise for them. But now as you can see the coach has learn his mistakes and you can see the result against Korea, the guyz are just geting beter, I hope you will see the beter side this team against Hungary. The coach doesn't know anything abt the Brazilian team? Where did u get that from? Didn't they take part in South American qualifiers? Are those clips nt available? Not that he didnt know d Brazilians, he underated them. C, the problem with this team is that Manu Garba is confused on how to manage the "big" players in the team. After the Europe based boys arrived the team did nt play any friendlies. That squad against Brazil was like a gamble. For eg the team typically plays 4-5-1 bt jst to accommodate success and Awoniyi he played 4-4-2 thereby depleting the midfield. Iheanacho and Yahaya have been away from d team for some time, these are attacking midfielders/forwards and d coach played them in thé mid field. The formation practically turned out to be 4-2-4 cos Nacho and Yahaya were making several attempts at goal without falling back to support the 2 Ifeanyis in d midfield. The Brazilians exploited our lean mid field and that gave them d edge. U can see in d game against Korea the coach fell back to his traditional 4-5-1 & didnt start Nacho & Yahaya. In addition we played with two blocking 4 i.e Idowu and Ifeanyi. When we were already 3-0 up he brought in Yahaya and Success jst to c if he can build on the 4-4-2 he attempted against Brazil. I am nt saying this team is not good. I am jst saying the hype that some of these players receive is too much. Eg is there any ball passer among d midfielders like Mikel of Holland 2005? Can u compare Our current left back with Taiye Taiwo of 2005? Can Ndidi and Bello combination be compared with Apam and Adeleye combination of 2005? Can u compare Ifeanyi Ifeanyi with Sani Keita of 2005? Most peeps were already clamouring for d team to take over Super Eagles and Keshi gave them the right answer: "Let us see them at the WYC first". |

nerodenero: If the AYC proper isn't recognised, will the qualifiers be? Kelechi Iheanacho was released for AYC qualifiers bt came from d bench most of the time. U c, d problem with most peeps here is they are nt true followers of Nigerian football. U wait until a tournament before following a team. Thank God the European leagues are over so guys can shift attention to our national teams. |

Fringes: Baba ICON, I respect you o. Na in I take dey follow you for NL now. If you've followed ALL the Flying Eagles teams since 83, then you must be advanced in years and must be a great sports enthusiast. My first football tournament on TV was Japan '93..
That said however, your comment, on a thread you created, describing members of this team in such lofty terms, makes me wonder if you are the same person who wrote both... I am nt saying this Flying Eagles team is not good. What i have been saying is they are over hyped. The thread u quoted from was created abt 2-3months ago and i was only highlighting the posibble inclusions into the AYC Flying Eagles. And yes i have been following the WYC since 1985. |

mayusguy: So thats the only thing you could deduce from the match Upon all his assists and hardwork...some humans are terrible Awoniyi is good with assists bt Success is a more matured, composed, exposed, stronger and more clinical striker-a typical Centre forward. |
