Haha!! Whatever!!!

Just look at the way they won on Saturday? Winning by taking out your opponent's biggest weapon. Do you think that they should've won if Mo Salah wasn't systematically taken out? I give them credit sha, Real Madrid is one football club which would do ANYTHING and I mean ANYTHING to win.

And Sergio Ramos is the dirtiest soccer player on the planet but, for the most parts, he tends to get away with it. Meanwhile, the good news is, Cristiano Ronaldo was a NON FACTOR in both two semi finals and the finals. Hence, Leo Messi stands a good chance of winning Ballon d'Or if he has a decent World Cup. I am pretty sure that Cristiano Ronaldo would be a NON FACTOR in Russia.

eterisan:
13 reasons why Real Madrid are European champions
27/05/2018 | 13:21 CEST En Español Rubén Jiménez

1: The referees
The whole world knows. Italian referees, English, Serbian, Turkish and wherever they are from, there is a conspiracy to make Los Blancos win successive Champions League titles because that's the best thing which can happen for UEFA
2: The draws
The secret is hot balls, those which have paired the club with Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Bayern Munich. It's all remotely controlled.
3: Zidane is lucky
He's so lucky that he decides that Bale is better as a substitute and he comes on and scores two goals, one of them a bicycle kick. The changes of Lucas Vazquez and Marco Asensio were beneficial and starting Karim Benzema and Isco made the team able to retain possession. It was all so lucky.
4: Their opponents are old
Kylian Mbappe, Mohamed Salah and Neymar are all on the downward curves of their careers, their age shows they are clearly declining.
5: Their fans don't encourage them
The chant of 'We're not going to love you' was heard in Kiev and it was a sign of respect to the fans of Liverpool, but it gave Real Madrid encouragement.
6: It doesn't matter that Antonio Pintus doesn't know how to coach players
Los Blancos reached the final with every single player fit and available, there were no injury concerns and everyone had the chance to start the match. This all came after Sergio Ramos said the players were all like Miura, but obviously Pintus has no idea what he's doing.

Real Madrid own the Champions League throne
Listen on Audioboom
7: Their opponents were injured
Neymar was hurt and couldn't play against Real Madrid, whilst Salah was left injured after a collision with Ramos on the pitch in Kiev. You simply can't compete in those circumstances.
8: They somehow escaped Mbappe, Lewandowski and Salah
In every single match it was clear that the opposition were going to take full advantage of Real Madrid's defensive fragility. It was said that playing against Dijon and FC Koln is the same as the European champions.
9: It didn't matter that Marcelo doesn't know how to defend
Liverpool were going to destroy him in the final.
10: Even though Cristiano Ronaldo doesn't score in the big matches
The Portuguese forward failed to score in the semi-final or final, his last goal in the tournament came against Juventus.
11: Despite the fact Bale and Benzema have no value
The two goalscorers in the final were the two most criticised players throughout the season.
12: Because opposing goalkeepers hand them victories
Sven Ulreich and Loris Karius must be involved in a shared WhatsApp group with UEFA referees, they conspired so that Los Blancos would emerge victorious.
13: Because being from Madrid is easy
This something everybody knows, Real Madrid simply don't have feelings or emotions, those are things for others. Opinion • Zidane continues to make coaching history

Echiejile Fit, Eager To Make Up For 2014 World Cup Miss
May 24, 2018 9:35 pm

Elderson Echiejile says he has never felt stronger, fitter and more confident with the Super Eagles as he targets a second World Cup finals appearance in Russia, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

The Super Eagles defender, 30, made five appearances for the Super Eagles during the qualifying series as they qualified for their sixth FIFA World Cup in Russia where they will face Croatia, Iceland and Argentina in Group D.

The AS Monaco defender who missed out on the last edition of the World Cup in Russia due to an injury said that the team’s training is gradually gaining momentum in Uyo..
“I’m having a great time here, working hard ahead of the World Cup,” Echiejile, who has battled with injuries while on loan at Belgian second division club Cercle Brugge, told CSN.

“Making the final squad will banish the horror of missing out on the World Cup in 2014.”

Referring to Nigeria’s forthcoming friendly against DR Congo in Port Harcourt, Echiejile said: “These friendlies will put us in competitive edge ahead of the first World Cup game.

“Congo are no pushovers, just like other teams we will face.

“They have great players and that’s important. We lost to them in Belgium two years ago and it will be nice to pay them back in their coin when we meet.

“We are looking forward to the game.”
Nigeria will also face England and Czech Republic in their remaining two friendlies before the World Cup.

Well, do you blame Tuchel? I think he's a smart man. He knew that Neymar had already became bigger than the club, so all he can do right now is to join the chorus. But you gotta ask yourself, how did Neymar who was literally a choir boy at Barca suddenly became turned into a big monster after less than 1 year at PSG?

It's all about the coach, my friend.

O pari

edi287:
You know how much power Neymar and Ibra have?? Watch Tuchel's presser...the first thing is said when he was asked about how Neymar is "special players get treated differently". Emery wanted to play a 4-2-3-1 at PSG but the players disagreed and went to tell Nasser so he switched to a 4-3-3. The egos in that club is crazy. Even Mou eventually started struggling with Egos at Madrid and he's a bigger coach!
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Icon79(m): 4:28pm On May 25, 2018
Actually, I don't have a problem with whomever he choses to promote. But what I do have a problem with is disparaging the team or denigrating the coach because a certain Kayode or Dele Alampasu wasn't invited - that, to me, is beyond the pale.

You can promote your players but if they are not invited, then suck it up and support the team.

O pari

Certitude:
Both you and forgiveness are conspiracy theorists. Personally I don't have a problem if he promotes Yoruba players. My favourite players in the GWG are Mikel and Iheanacho. Am I a tribalist. I never said that Iwobi wasn't in his plans. All I said was that he did not discuss individual players during his news conference. Hence, it would be a mistake for some folks to jump to the conclusions that Iwobi or any other Arsenal player for that matter (except for Ozil whom he mentioned by name as being a player he can build around) is in his plans. We simply don't know who is in his plans or who isn't, and we won't know until he either tells us or shows his hands by other means.

I also speculated that Iwobi might have a regular playing time with him in charge because he tends to let players run the show. And if he let's Ozil runs the show the same way he let Ibrah and Neymar ran the show at PSG, then Iwobi might not get much playing time because I have seen Mesut Ozil yell at Iwobi in the field of play a few times.

O pari

edi287:
I don't get your point. How does this prove Iwobi isn't in his plans?? He wasn't my preferred choice too. I wanted Allegri, Nagelsmann or Jardim instead. Emery isn't a bad coach. We stand a massive chance of winning the europa league with him. I wouldn't take his PSG stint as a way to gauge how he'll perform.
I don't know where you got Ozil being "lazy" and "over pompous" from. Don't also know where you got Aubamayeng being a hot head from too.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Icon79(m): 3:57pm On May 25, 2018
Bros, like I told you earlier, I would need to see the evidence. I don't want to just take your words for it. Please show us the threads/posts where he promoted those players you mentioned.

O pari

edi287:
Is Joel Obi his brother? When he was calling for his inclusion in the team, why didn't you call him a tribalist?
Is Ebuehi his brother?
Is Josh Onomah his brother?
Is Fred Oyedinma his brother?
Is Mikel Agu his brother??
When he was saying Vic Moses can be as good as Salah under a coach like Klopp, why didn't you call him a tribalist??
If you haven't been here long enough, don't say something you're not certain of. It's talk like this that actually spoils the thread.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Icon79(m): 3:43pm On May 25, 2018
I agree with you on the bolded. But I still think that Mikel made it up ... he was looking for an excuse, you know. And I said that because I don't know whom he might have displaced on that Chelsea midfield: Kante, Matic, Fabregas. Whohuh

O pari

tbaba1234:
Mikel obviously told Rohr personally. Rohr is not a rumor monger. I have no doubt that he was told by Mikel. Mikel was still a player for Chelsea so he did not want to be unprofessional but these things are discussed privately. It is not 'speculation'.

At the start of preseason, Mikel was actively involved in games but he came back from the olympics and was frozen out.

Conte's antecedents show that he is the type of coach that keeps a grudge.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Icon79(m): 3:39pm On May 25, 2018
Yes, Arsenal Board told me that Emery impressed them by his knowledge of the team and all what not. But I personally think that they are making a mistake hiring him; because it should be more than that IMHO. They ought to look at his records.

So they think that a coach who couldn't win with the fully loaded PSG team would suddenly start performing wonders with this overrated Arsenal team?
They think that a coach who couldn't manage a choir boy like Neymar Jr. can actually manage the lazy and overly pompous Mesut Ozil? And you don't even want me to talk about a hot head like Aubameyan (sp.). I don't see Arsenal winning anything or making the top 5 next season. Mark my words!

O pari

edi287:
Same way we didn't know for certain the Arsenal board appointed him because they were awed by his in depth analysis of every player on the team including some of the youth players till surprise surprise Gazidis confirmed the same thing.
As for this Mikel argument, both are not even remotely similar. I don't know why and how you made that comparison
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Icon79(m): 8:15pm On May 24, 2018
Again, we only heard that claim from Gernot Rohr ... claiming that Mikel told him. And by the way, Mikel later denied it. Either way, we didn't hear Conte's side of the story.

Don't get me wrong, Antonio Conte keeps a grudge. Like you said, he drove Costa out of Chelsea. And he froze out David Luiz after he criticized his tactics. But what I am saying is until we hear the coach opens his mouth to publicly state that so and so player is on his plans, It's better to keep all speculations to the barest minimum. My own be say, Alex Iwobi should leave Arsenal if he gets a good offer. I don't trust Emery to use him much .... he has no backbone. This is the same coach who allowed Neymar to be running the show at PSG sad

O pari

tbaba1234:
Mikel was in Conte's plans until he decided to leave for the Olympics in the middle of pre-season. Conte did not take that very well so conte froze him out. Same thing, he did to Diego Costa.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Icon79(m): 7:57pm On May 24, 2018
Please you guys should quit making all these unsubstantiated claims and posting it out here as gospel. The same way most people here claimed, without any evidence, that Obi Mikel is Antonio Conte's plans. That he plans to give Mikel a "free role in the midfield". At that time I laughed them off, not because I didn't want it to be true but because nobody provided any evidence to substantiate that claim.

Bottom line is, we don't know if Iwobi is Emery's plans. He hasn't said so. In fact, the only player he mentioned by name during his median press conference was Mesut Ozil. When they asked him about Wilshere and others, he said that he wasn't going to discuss individual players.

So let's leave it at that until he shows his cards.

O pari

Iwobi is clearly in Emery's plans...

The level of talent in the current team? Oh please, this team is not even as talented as the mediocre 2014 team. As a matter of fact, let me reproduce my comparative analysis of the two teams .... for your reading pleasure grin

Goalkeepers:
Vincent Enyeama is better than anybody we have right now. I am quite sure you can't argue that fact. (Advantage Keshi)

CBs:
Oboabona of 2014 is probably better than Balogun (But let's call these two a wash)
Omeruo of 2014 is probably better than Ekong (Let's call it a wash)

RBs:
I will rate Efe Ambrose of 2014 over Shehu Abdullahi any day (Adv. Keshi)

LBs:
Oshinawa is better than Echiejile (Adv. Keshi)

DMs/CMs:
John Obi Mikel is better than Wilfred Ndidi (Adv. Keshi)
Onazi of 2014 is better than Onazi of 2018 (Adv. Keshi)

AMs/Strikers:
VicMo of 2018 is better than VicMo of 2014 (advantage Rohr)
Ahmed Musa of 2014 is better than Moses Simon (Adv. Keshi)
Emmanuel Emenike is better than Jude Ighalo (Adv. Keshi)
Osaze Odemwingie is better than Kelechi Iheanacho (Adv. Keshi)

You don see am? The progress we're making with the current team is that we now have a team structure/shape. I mean, we now play under a system unlike during the time of Keshi. In fact, if you were to handover the current team to Keshi (RIP), we wouldn't have qualified in the first place.

O pari

ykalhaji:
Bros so with VicMo we will beat Argentina at the world cup ? Vic Mo is not a disciplined player when he plays for Nigeria which will make it easy for European coaches to game plan for him. If VicMo is the player we arr going to depend on to score or creates the usual penalties he accrued against African teams, we might not win one single game. I love Vic Mo, but I am just raising a caution, Vic Mo's gra gra was needed against African teams and during our Nigerian Indigenous coaches era, but with the level of talent in the team now and technical expertise of the new coach, Vic Mo's gra gra should be his last option not his go to.

But to your Mikel statement, in that list ROHR is taking to the world cup. If Mikel gets injured omo forget, nothing for us again. I watched Joel Obi is like 33% pf Mikel Obi. So in the world cup Mikel Obi is indispensable, VicMo not so much.

Nigerians really have to be super dumb to believe most of those promises. For instance to create 3,000,000 jobs per year. That's creation of an average of 8,220 job per day - that is, every single day, including Saturdays and Sundays! Impossible plus cannot!!
One naira to one dollar. Another dumb promise. You can't fix the currency exchange rates by a fiat.
Stabilize the oil market to $100 per barrel. It isn't within the powers of any govt to "stabilize" (fix) the oil market. The oil market is a product of demand and supply. And Nigeria is not the only oil exporting country in the world.

Bottom line, I don't blame Buhari but I do blame the dumb people who actually believed him.

No question. VicMo is definitely a high maintenance player. But he better gets his acts together because he needs this world cup more than most of the players in the team. Apparently, Antonio Conte isn't gonna be at Chelsea next season, so what becomes of his status ... especially if the new coach decides to abandon the 3-4-3 formation? Is he going to become surplus to requirement??

That's why he'd need to have a massive world cup so he can always leave Chelsea if his situation becomes murky.
