That's definitely one change I would like to see Rohr make to the team that started against Cameroun - swap Moses Simon for Oghenekaro Etebo. Yes, Simon had a good game but Etebo would give us more in that position. First, he can track back better and provides defensive cover, plus he can provide better end products (goals and assists) compared to Simon. Mark my word! OK, I googled it just to make sure that I know what da heck I am talking about, and here's the info I obtained from Wikipedia: Mount Sinai also known as Mount Horeb or Gabal Musa, is a mountain in the Sinai Peninsula of Egypt that is a possible location of the biblical Mount SinaiI believe that the children of Israel entered the "Wilderness of Sin" immediately after crossing the Red Sea, which is exactly where the modern day Sinai peninsula is also located. And by the way, it's no longer a mountain any more .... just a stretch of empty desert land. O pari cstr1000: I read somewhere that sinai is in saudi arabia or is it mount hebron? Anyway, if that is the case, then Egyptian territory has expanded. In Moses days, those were not Egyptian territory. They already left Egypt before they got to mount sinai for the 10 commandments. |

However, if he's like most of the others then better believe that he won't bat an eye to make a U-turn once the 3 Lions comes calling. As an EPL player, being an English international would dramatically increase your value. But good suggestion tho. If the NFF folks are smart, they would invite him to our next match against Zambia .... just like they did with Ola Aina. That would definitely be a good idea, because I know that England would try to cap him once they qualify. I have watched the boy play a few times and he's a real talent. We definitely need him. Problem is, even if he agrees to switch, the NFF might not be able to secure his clearance before England caps him. It took them months to get Aina cleared, even after Rohr had told them that Aina is critical to his plans. O pari libero808: Well we Nigerians want to see Oyibo do something first before we know it works. That's why we will always be behind them. Nothing wrong trying to cap all of them against Algeria. |

I knew this is bound to happen, that why I was lambasting that Nigerian born BBC reporter on twitter yesterday. This dude interviewed Amaju Pinnick, then went and blasted the whole plans on BBC website and on twitter. So I really gave it to him yesterday. Some of us are not politically savvy at all. O pari TheSuperNerd: England Plan To Fast Track Nigeria Target Tammy Abraham From Youth Team To First Team
https://i0.wp.com/owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/AE139F67-29EB-425A-9CC3-E7732F79CF1D-3520-000000E5DAA5B4C1.jpeg
The English FA have unfolded a plan which will help them keep hold of youth internationals with dual nationality , in light of the current trend of players switching allegiance despite representing England at youth level.
President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Amaju Pinnick confirmed talks are underway with highly rated Anglo-Nigerian forward Tammy Abraham to switch allegiance to Nigeria, shortly after Nigeria moved a step closer to qualifying for the World Cup in Russia following a win and a draw against Cameroon.
Already Nigeria has succeeded in luring the likes of ex England youth international Victor Moses and Alex Iwobi , with Ola Aina also joining the duo in switching allegiance to Nigeria early this year. Nigeria are now targeting Abraham who is on loan to Swansea City from English Premier League champions Chelsea. However England have drawn up a plan to help keep the likes of Abraham by proposing to play most players from their youth teams if they are able to seal qualification for the World Cup with games to spare.
Present coach of the senior national team of England Gareth Southgate is in support of the idea as it will help the nation keep top prospects who were educated by the system, where Southgate was youth team coach before his elevation to the senior team.

Omo, you're a fulltime slowpoke! You strike me as one of those folks who's playing their own football on the popular stand of the stadium making the loudest noise along with the women! Do you think that football is easy? And by the way, are you not a Nigerian? Why didn't you kit up to go beat Cameroun in Yaoundé, rather you chose to remain a keyboard warrior Listen, we are 95% likely to qualify. Yes, I said it .... and if you don't wanna hear it then sue me, OK? We're celebrating mediocre my behind As regards to Mikel, are you aware that he's just returning from injury and wasn't 100% fit? The dude got tired, which is to be expected if you've ever played the game yourself instead of being a keyboard expert. Listen, this game is really easy when you play it on your keyboard or in the stands. And by the way, even if we had won in Yaoundé we still need to win one of our next two matches to guarantee qualifications. Hence, not much has changed really. We just need to make that that one win must be against Zambia. Like I had said several times, we have so many routes to qualify and Zambia has only one route and that's a pretty tight route for them. If someone had offered us this option at the beginning of the series, I'd like to know which Nigerian wouldn't accept the offer! O pari gemale: More like 60% loading. Not to sound like a wet blanket but the 2nd leg against Cameroon exposed the mediocrity that is very prevalent & celebrated among Nigerians. We went to Yaoundé to achieve a draw not bothering to aim higher for a win. We could have beaten the Cameroonians in Yaoundé the way they played. If we were half as sharp as we were in front of goal as in the first leg, we could have scored a 2nd goal. The midfield (especially mikel) went on break for most of the 2nd half leaving the wingers to bear the brunt of initiating attacks. Our profligacy was punished when the referee gifted them a penalty (which IMO was unwarranted) which they converted to level the score. We were fortunate that the referee became vigilant afterwards because the Cameroonians started diving in an attempt to win another spot kick. What would have been our fate if he was deceived? Yes, a draw wasn't a bad result but we could have done better because the Cameroonians didn't exactly step up to give us a really tough time. We should have punished them. That is what separates the top teams from others. They are ruthless and offer their opponents no quarters. They don't rest on their oars. They rest when the job is done. Yes, we currently lead our group but that is no excuse to think we have already qualified for the world cup. If we lose our next 2 matches & zambia wins theirs, we wouldn't qualify. Yes, it's highly unlikely but it's possible in the realm of football. If we won at Yaoundé, we would have been 5 points up, thereby making it more difficult for Zambia to try & mount a comeback. Now, Zambia are 3 points adrift & we play them next. Imagine if they beat us at uyo. They would be equal on points with us. It's possible after all, we did beat them at ndola. Didn't south africa beat us in uyo? Playing at home is no guarantee of a victory for us. It is not over until it's over. Can you remember how we qualified for the 2010 world cup? Tunisia led the group until the very last match day when they slipped up. We need to guard against complacency & thinking we have already arrived. That's the reason why since 1999,no Nigerian player has won the african player of the year. Even top teams & players challenge themselves to do more. |

Were those really a direct quote from the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN)? If true then Nigeria is in worse shis than I thought .... lots of typos in one paragraph quotes. Don't they have editors and proofreaders anymore? O pari o stephanie11: Senator Stella Oduah has denied an allegation that she bought a 1.2 million dollars house in England while she was Minister of Aviation. Oduah, a serving House of Representatives member, came under serious scrutiny after a report surfaced, alleging that she used public funds to purchase the house.
Speaking to NAN on Thursday, Oduah said;
"Of course, the allegation is not true, it cannot be true. It is unfortunate that we have a country where journalists will copy a story without verifying the authenticity of that story.When you read my statement on it later, then it will be for you to make up your mind. But, categorically it is untrue and it is unfair,".
The lawmaker recalled that the same online medium had reported that she purchased two BMW cars when she was a minister. She further stated that the vehicles belonged to the Federal Government, which she never bought for herself or took away when she left the minister.
According to her, "that was the same way they carried a story about bullet proof cars; bullet proof cars were never bought by me, not even by the agency they alleged.
In fact, bullet proof cars were never a transaction that was not approved.They were two vehicles that were on higher purchase by the agency and the ministry directed that because of the need as proposed by the agency, they should go ahead and do the higher purchase.
Suddenly, for the online medium, higher purchase turned into procurement; I don’t know if there is a similarity between higher purchase and procurement.So, I now realise and symphatise with anybody that works or tries to work for government, because you will have the likes of Sahara Reporters thrive on making your life difficult.
I rise above that at all times because I know that what they say is never the truth, particularly on my case, it is not true.It cannot be true; why will I purchase vehicles on higher purchase and then it is on the ministry’s and agency’s name, why?
That same vehicle, I never drove it for one day and when I was leaving the ministry, I didn’t take it along with me? The question should be `where are those bullet proof cars today?"
