Edgar Davids: Messi is an anomaly but Ronaldo just an athlete Source: http://sports.yahoo.com/news/davids-messi-anomaly-ronaldo-just-135713122.html |
enigmaticmotik:What's your point ![]() |
LaExpert:Do you guys even understand that football is a TEAM sport? You need 10 other guys to win. No one has ever done it by himself, because it isn't a solo sport. Hence, I always laugh when I hear some morons argue that Messi isn't the best because he hasn't won a championship with Argentina. For Argentina to win, the other guys have to step up not just Messi. Sergio Aguero needs to start playing well for Argentina. Angel Di Maria needs to quit getting injury at crucial times for Argentina. And I can go on and on.... And in addition, do you guys even understand how dysfunctional the Argentine FA is? They are worse than Nigeria's NFF - much worse! Nobody can win anything with that FA. Even the best coaches: Mauricio Pochettino, Diego Simeone, etc. all refused to have anything to do with them. |
miketayo:Listen, I live in Washington, DC when Jordan came to play for the Wizards and he himself would tell you that his career started and ended with Chicago Bulls. I used to visit his restaurant all the time and I have heard him made that assertion more than once. His Wizards career, to him and to everyone who follows Basketball, was a footnote. Got it ![]() |
komonibo:Bros nothing boils my blood that these silly argument on Messi vs Ronaldo. It isn't even close. gosh, it's not even a contest. Here are what some of the legends of the game had said on that comparison: "I never saw Messi off-form. To talk about him people should stand up first. He is unique. There can be replicas of some players, like Cristiano for example. The Portuguese is good, very good, but Messi is simply the best." Ronald de Boer "Messi is the definition of football" -syredeathtrooper "With Messi, tactics are optional"-elduderino |
Kingdanitez97:Bros, I concurred with everything you wrote except the highlighted. Fact is: Portugal won the Euro INSPITE of Ronaldo and not because of him. And the fact that they won the trophy without Ronaldo speaks volumes. Portugal plays better without Ronaldo, same with Real Madrid. The only thing Ronaldo does in the game is to watch for scoring opportunities. He rarely tracks back to help his team mates defensively. And if he another player scores, he would start throwing fits. I have never seen a more selfish player in my whole life! |
What is MMM? Na wa for Nigerians and their style of always using acronyms with first giving it's full meaning and context. Gosh, that's supposed to be the first thing they teach you in college! Can you say educated illiterates? |
prince9851:LOL. I thought I was the only one who didn't follow this girl's story. |
PRXPERT:First, this is a club side NOTthe Brazilian national team. Secondly, Neymar Jnr is in Barcelona, Spain even as we speak; hence, there's no way he could've been in the flight to Colombia. Got it ![]() |
kilo4sure:Yeah, Ordega is OK. And Oshoala ain't bad either, but the only true beauty in the current Falcon team is Courtney Dike. Unfortunately, they decided not to invite her this time around. |
Why is it that soccer girls, especially in Africa, are some of the least attractive girls in the whole wide world? |
gbeseun:Yeah, Messi cannot play in the EPL. Just look at what Messi's bench warmers (Yaya Toure, Alexis Sanchez, Pedro etc.) are doing in the EPL....at least, that would tell you that Messi cannot play in the EPL. Bizarre people!! And by the way, while at it, we should refuse to rate Mikel Jordan and Kobe Bryant as good Basketball players because they ended their careers with one team. Some of you guys are just pure retards ![]() |
TheSuperNerd: ![]() |
Chrismario:Well, let's hope that he's ambitious enough to demand playing or else a transfer. We don't wanna have another Mikel in our hands. That's one thing that disgusted me about Mikel. The dude was so timid that he felt totally fine sitting on the bench, while lesser talented players were demanding playing or transfer. |
TheSuperNerd:Bro, it isn't just about Eto'o. What about Yama Toure at Barca? And what about Yaya Toure at ManCity. Personally, I like the guy because I am a Barca fan and also he's a great coach without a doubt. But one thing I can tell you is,where there's smoke there's fire. I would like for him to prove me wrong tho. *Sidon look mode activated* O pari |
Sad to say but it looks like our dearly beloved Pep is a racist. I can't bet my life on it but I have heard that allegation from several of my reliable sources, right from when he was still coaching Barca. There's absolutely no reason why Navas should start ahead of Kelechi....gosh, Kelechi is even better than Nolito sef. So only Pep can tell us why he always leave the young on the bench, because Kelechi is definitely good enough to start for ManCity. And like I had said several times, Kelechi can play with Aguero because his favorite position is actually playing behind the top striker. I think it's time for him to ask for a transfer. O pari |
pazienza:It's actually silly to judge a player's contribution in a game to the number of goals she scored or didn't score. Only people who don't understand how the game is played would do that. Scoring goals is important but there's more to the game than simply goal scoring. Anybody who watched the Falcons during Mercy Akide's era would know that that team belongs to one player and one player only - Marvelous Mercy Akide! In those days when you play against the Falcons, the other teams specifically plans on how to stop Mercy. If you watch the team play, she's the name on the mouth of every player. They keep calling her: Marvelous Mercy, Marvelous Mercy despite the team having lots of other stars like Captain Omogbami, Nkeiru Okosieme, etc. Mercy carried that team and they all looked up to her. In addition, her game was just on a different level - speed, power, and skills. Nigeria is yet to produce another player on her level. She was like the Jay Jay Okocha of that Falcon's team. O pari |
TheGoodJoe:Of course, it all depends on the system you wanna. Take Barca for instance, until Luis Suarez, they have never played with the traditional #9 per se. Rather, they used Messi (later Fabregas) in a position they called a false 9. But sometimes you might wanna employ a natural target man, esp if you wanna play in a 4-4-2 or 3-5-2 formation. O pari |
And by the way, do we have only TWO FIFA windows between now and August 2017? I thought there should be more. Does anybody know ![]() |
I agree with Komekn on one thing: Nacho is not an out and out striker. He is a support striker. Same with Isaac Success. Same with Ideye. And Victor Moses, Moses Simon, Alex Iwobi, and Ahmed Musa are all Attacking Midfielders cum Wingers. Hence, the only top striker we have in the current team is Odion Jude Ighalo. That's where Victor Anichebe comes in. We need Victor to come and fight for the top striker position in this Super Eagles team. Another thing I like about Victor is that he's one player who leaves it all on the field. He reminds me of Daniel Amokachie. The Super Eagles would be better for it, if Victor clicks with Nacho. HardMirror:HardMirror, I haven’t really had the time to go through all your incoherent ranting, but let me briefly try to deconstruct your hubris based on the few portions I have read. First of all, you are not a born again Christian. Never has and never was. And here I will tell you why you were never a Christian even if you claimed to be one. Speaking in tongues does NOT make one a Christian. Demons also do speak in tongues, but they are not Christians. Are they? Those of us who have been in deliverance ministry know that it's very common to see demon possessed folks burst out speaking in tongues during deliverance ministrations. Hence, speaking in tongues is not the mark of a born again Christian. Satan can fake tongues. Performing exorcism (I chose to call it exorcism in this case) does not make one a Christian either. Even in the scripture, the 7 sons of Sceva were performing exorcism, remember? (see Acts 19:11-20). And many white garment churches and many Roman catholic priests do perform exorcism, but I am not sure that most of them are born again Christians if you know what I mean. Further more, having a spirit of divination (you called it word of knowledge, but I will call it spirit of divination since I am sure that you didn't manifest the real thing) does not make one a Christian. In the Bible the slave girl from Macedonia also had the spirit of divination; so should we call her a Christian too? (see Acts 16:17). And I can go on and on and on to deconstruct all your claims to justify calling yourself a Christian, but I don’t have the time right now. But here’s the bottom line, I think you were possessed by the religious spirit and was able to masquerade amongst Christians for so long that you started lying even to yourself. You were never born again and have never had the Spirit of God in you. You were only faking Christianity. Unfortunately for you, you can only fake Christianity for so long because, eventually, your sin would find you out (Numbers 32:23). You were the amongst the people whom the Lord Jesus Christ was referring to when he prophesied: Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness. (Matthew 7: 21-23). Listen, I have news for you. You’re not even an atheist either. I think you’re just a confused young man who stumbled into the ministry without having any personal relationship with God and then got entangled by the religious spirit. You have never been sincere in serving God, that’s why the Grace of God has not reached you yet. I pray and hope that the Lord Jesus Christ may have mercy on your soul eventually and deliver you from this bondage. I said this hoping that you have not committed the sin of blasphemy against the Holy Spirit yet. Anyway, I will keep praying for you! You will understand the real thing once you have an encounter with the Lord. |
greenermodels:Excellent. Please let me know if I'd have something to check out when I visit Nigeria early next year. Thanks |
greenermodels:Sloppy and stony? Hmmm. Is it gonna be good to build a residential home? Haven't visited that area in over 20 years. |
greenermodels:Bro how much does a plot of land cost in that area? Something in a good location? Or even better are you aware of any completed or uncompleted building that someone could purchase for a good price in that area? |
Marvelous Mercy Akide is the numero uno in my book. Her game was totally on a different level. Perpetual gets a point for longevity tho, but Mercy is just a class above her. |
LOL. Too late. I outta him more than 4 years ago. And I believe that I had already released that scoop on this forum, but some morons wanted to engage in name calling with me. Cristiano is gay. And that's why FIFA tends to favor him over Leo Messi. Gay people control everything here in West. |
TheSuperNerd:Wonderful move! I think he would excel under Ranieri. And I would like to see Etebo move to a bigger club as well; then I can say "Russia 2018 here we come"! O pari |
TheSuperNerd:Haha!!! That's my trademark/signature, bruh. Right from back in the day on the Cyber Eagles website ![]() O pari |
Mickael2:Honestly, I don't see anything good in recalling Enyeama. I think we missed our chance to recall him against Algeria in Carl's absence. If we recall him now, does that mean he would be asked to sit on the bench? Don't get me wrong, there's no doubt in my mind that Enyeama is marginally better than Ikeme, but I don't think that it's worth disrupting the team just to recall him. It's Carl's team now, let's keep it that way. We just need to find a solid back up for him. O pari |
TheSuperNerd:I know they would be ready to come at us with everything they got, but it would be over for them if we can beat them in Nigeria and secure a draw against them in Yaoundé (or wherever they decide to take the match). I wish that Zambia had beaten them in the last game, that would've put them in a very precarious position. And Zambia was hold onto the lead until that Cameroun was given that soft penalty. But all in all, nothing spoil....we're still in much better position than Cameroun. O pari O pari |
TheSuperNerd:For some reasons, Wenger would always start a healthy Ramsey. He just likes the guy. But I was expecting to see him subbed by Iwobi after the first half since Aaron was MIA thru out the first half. Instead he decided to bring in Giroud and move Ramsey back, one can argue that he got it right since Arsenal got an equalizer. However, I believe that bringing in Iwobi for Ramsey would've worked even better because Alex would've brought cohesion and stability in the final 3rd for Arsenal. |
TheSuperNerd:I was surprised that we couldn't get Enyeama to play against Algeria. However, we should let him go, if he had actually said that he can only come back if we qualify for the World Cup. We don't need such attitude. And in addition, how could we discard a player who sweated to help us qualify for the world cup just so we can make room for Enyeama? BS upon BS! O pari |
